Tenacious D is underrated. A lot of folks just think of them as funny and miss just how skilled they are.

Although this is a more serious take on a song by TD, the enunciation of the “witchoo” keeps the comedic element present. Genius!

Tenacious D & Jack Black deserve a Grammy, an Oscar and a Nobel in Music if they exist (if they don't then they need to be established). What needs to be added. Unless I recommend you their other songs, Kickapoo, Tribute, Classico, etc.
In this song, he has a kind of weathered storytelling voice. Slightly reminiscent of Johnny Cash singing Hurt. I think that comes from his being an actor. He puts some city miles on the song as if he's lived a lot of life. Great version.

Part of what makes the original by Chris Isaak is that haunting guitar part that is sadly missing in every cover I've ever heard.
Tenacious D is so much more that a silly comedy duo. This cover by them is amazing and that beach video is life!

I just cannot get enough of this song and I loved hearing your take on it. The guitar is so beautiful and Jack Black’s singing is just absolutely gorgeous.
Tenacious D is so fun, but also talented. Love your reactions, great job! Dio and Geoff Tate are def worth continuing to explore. Not sure if hard rock/metal is your thing but 80s was a treasure trove of talent, despite all the theatrics.
