Interesting how the guy in the baby costume just didn't think to hit her with the mallet he just straight up obeyed her in exchange for pudding, guess she trained him well, which makes it even creepier, how bad is it that the guy just follows her after yelling at her, it's pretty chilling.
The costumes make sense from a psychological perspective. She's breaking people down into archetypes with manipulation and the costumes enforce it. It's kinda like cult tactics, especially the one where she got the guy to useless sort christmas lights. Reconditioning a person by forcing them into routines, to manipulate their dopamine center is a very real and documented tactic for cults.
Not only that, but digging into their past and making them roleplay a traumatic part of their lives. Rather than helping them move on from their issues, she's trapping them in a loop to keep them psychologically caged.
And what makes her a villain, rather than someone who does things constructively, is that she's doing it as a sort of way to punish them & to feel gratification from it.
I can just picture a future episode where Batman needs help in a case so he goes to see Harley in prison and she is strapped up, wearing a tattered vest and a muzzle in a glass cell.
@@ΕυάγγελοςΦώσκολος I wonder, if there is ever an multiverse episode on dc Harley Quinn show and she meet’s this version of Harley, this would be crazy.
I like how the writers made Harley Quinn different here she can easily go from the cheerful silly menace that we're all used to or someone who has come and dangerous like the Harley Quinn we're seeing right now. I like how she can go either way.❤
She's using that therapeutic talk tone. In psychology it's used to create a sense of calm and lower-stimulation to put the patient at ease. Here she's using it in a manipulative manner that makes her so much more menacing.
I have to admit this version of Harley scared me a lot. This is a new approach, and I quite like it. Showing she's a threat all by herself and not because of Joker
Honestly after this episode I was expect Harley to have been the creator of The Joker rather than the other way around. Like the Joker is a scientist for Ace Chemicals and he admits to sabotaging a coworker on a project so he could get a promotion and that confession led him to the Playpen
I think Harley would only do that if the Joker did something that was hurting others like its implied these men are horrible and abusive to everyone they know
I rather liked this approach to Harley, though I’m a fan of the traditional one from the animated series, this was a fresh take that separated her from The Joker… while making her a threat all of her own.
Yes I like it too, I'm a big fan even in the newer iteration but I'm glad we get to see her as a threat all on her own and incredibly terrifying one at that
This may not be the first time we've seen a radically different interpretation of Harley Quinn (see the Telltale Batman game series!), but I welcome any different interpretation if done well. In Batman:CC, the intention was to invert Harleen Quinzel and Harley Quinn. Normally, Harleen is the serious psychiatrist while Harley Quinn is the fun-loving psychopath. But here, Harleen is a quirky psychiatrist while Harley Quinn is the sinister jester who uses her psychiatry skills for malicious purposes. And I think that's a really fresh take! For people who are thinking "They finally remember Harley Quinn is a psychiatrist!", while this take certainly seems like it, I like to imagine that most versions had Harley Quinn as a sort of escape for Harleen to let loose when she really wanted. That said, Harley using psychology against people is a very interesting idea, and I'm really glad they went for this sort of sharp contrast. It does make me wonder how an actual Golden Age Harley Quinn would've been like, especially since Golden Age villains were meant to be far more one-dimensional than their modern day counterparts.
Well her applying her psychiatry as Harley Quinn would sort of detract from her whole deal as the victim of an abusive relationship with the Joker. Someone as intelligent as that wouldn't be so vulnerable if she didn't already have a few screws loose.
@@JDog2656 Well, I wouldn't consider those mutually exclusive. Harley Quinn could theoretically still try to apply psychology in ways Joker himself can't actually reach. That said, under your point of view, that is precisely why this version of Harley Quinn works so well, because she does not have any influence of the Joker with her.
Well, this version of Harley is a whole new level of disturbing. And she took this into an alarming back alley turn. But don’t get me wrong, I’m here for this new Harley!
This is honestly an awesome remake of Harley Quin and I LOVE her. I know a lot of people hate the new Penguin for the gender swap but I kinda like the new fit because it is an interesting take on Oswald Cobblepot (AKA penguin) and could honestly just be told as another Penguin from a multi-verse plot if they really needed to explain their decision.

She was what we deserved over the victimized one that cant be saved cause she's still dangerous and unhinged.
Imagine her using her skills to make Joker even more insane and dangerous. Almost like an unethical dog fight trainer finding a vicious new star, though it would bite her the first chance it gets if she gets careless.
I really like this version of Harley Quinn. So dark and serious compared to her Deadpool-esque variants, which I still love, just this version is my number one.
I'm liking this villainous version of Harley. She's more cold, calculating, and dangerous, and flexes her psych degree in full force, along with proving that she can be a threat to people on her own without the Joker. And this version of Harley never even met the Joker either.
I actually thought the line was puddin not pudding when harley said that line. like she knew who the joker was but it was also meant to enforce the pudding with the hammer..
