By far my favourite addition to Minecraft recently is being able to decide what you take damage from. I know it might be cheating, but with there being SO much stuff to explore underwater, being able to stay under for long periods of time without drowning make the game so much more fun for me.
Yes, it's cheating, but you need to understand that that's not a problem. Cheats in game serve a purpose; otherwise they wouldn't be there. Games are made to be enjoyed, and if that means you're not playing the cutthroat difficult version of the game that's fine.

@@lily_littleangel game developer here. Cheats have only one purpose - easier testing at development stage. That's why there are a lot games where cheating is a lot trickier or even deletedftom code. At early stages of gamedev some cheats where just easter eggs, and did nothing to make game play easier or harder for gamers.
But i think that every game need have easy access to cheating so gamers with ANY skill can have some fun. Nowadays community is so toxic and makes people feel guilty for bad skills in games so it's push some people to play on harder difficulties and be stressed when games made to give new experience and bring joy to people.

@@andrewwashere82 yes. Magma blocks allow you to breathe underwater. But you have to crouch to avoid damage, or you can wear Frost Walker boots.
What's funny is that this could've been Hardcore since he never died and never bothered to set his spawn.
Was he playing on "hard" difficulty ?

Well we could calculate this by looking at the damage he takes when attacked and what armour he was wearing at the time but im far to lazy for that

Just to let y’all know, an end portal having 4 eyes is a 1/10,000 chance, Wadzee is really lucky for finding that.
I thought so too, but when I gave it more thought, I found out that the actual number is about 2.1%.
If people care to look at long math derivations I posted my findings below.
In order for calculate that exactly 4 eyes are present, you need to do 3 things:
The probability that 4 eyes are there.
The probability of 12-4=8 eyes are not there simultaniously
Sum over all of the possible scenarios this event could take place.
First is obviously (0.1)^4=10^-4 and the second is just (1-0.1)^8=0.9^8. Since both of these things must happen, the joint probability for the event must be 10^-4*(0.9)^8.
The number of times can be calculated as follows. The first eye can be placed in 12 positions. The second on 11 positions independently of the first. This goes on for 3rd and 4th. This yields 12*11*10*9 = 12!/8!. However, this formula overcounts since the order matters now. This overcounting can be counteracted by knowing that a 4-long series has 4*3*2=4! different permutations using the exact same logic as the 12!/8! formula used. This means that the number of cases is 12!/(4!*8!).
To put all of these together the probability is 10^-4*(0.9)^8*12!/(4!*8!)≈0.021.
@Jolez _ question: does the probability remain constant per pearl? Like if there's a 10% chance to trigger one ender pearl, is it still a 10% chance for a second to occur or is the probability decreased to, say, 8%?
Also I may totally be wrong but since it's binomial (success/failure) I don't think you'd have to multiply the probabilities

"Each individual end portal frame block has a 10% chance of containing an eye of ender, as determined by the world seed."
To answer your second question, what probabilities are you referring to in my original post? It has many products.

diamond ores have decreased chance of spawning if it is exposed to air, so its why underwater (and post 1.16 update, aquifers) have significantly more diamonds for cherry picking mining

dude I'm a hardcore osrs player it's become the most famous song. When I saw this video, it made me think that the song was based on a real song and that's how it got into this video. I find it hilarious! Dude you should totally try out old school runescape, I'm almost 2100 total level I've been playing for the past few years and only just got into minecraft. My current world that I'm in love with , while it's not ALL ocean, it does have some very HUGE ocean biomes with little islands scattered throughout. It's my favorite world ever and one world I've been the most committed to in all of my days of playing minecraft.

I usually love these sort of challenges it just irks me how they are titled, like of course you can beat minecraft if it's all an ocean theres barely any difficulty outside of satndrd minecraft difficulty, woods is everywhere in boats all of the underground still exists so ore are fairly common (along with treasure chest) basically the only thing you lose out on is villagers and for a speedrun playthrough they're not neccesary

I'm surprised, I was experimenting with custom biomes a while back, and none of the ocean ones ever spawned strongholds. Glad it seems to be fixed!

Best place to find diamonds is in the ocean ravines, absolutely agree. One of my first worlds, I spawned on an island. Swam for 15 secs and saw bubble columns. Followed them down and DIAMONDS. Diamond ore speedrun rs glitchless in about 2 and a half minutes. Trouble was, I didn't even have any wood, never mind iron.
What's the best way not to drown while you're diving for diamonds, etc? (Not including armor).

If you have a diamond pick, (unsure if aqua affinity is required) you can mine out a block in a flat ceiling above you and finish before you die. Even if you start just after you start taking drowning damage and your feet aren't on a solid block, you won't die.
