Hey, I just wanted to say that what you're doing here is kinda simular to jokeypokey's skyblock playthrough, but instead of a starter chest he spawned on a bedrock block
Imagine how much time would have been saved if he got a sapling in the starter chest

for the end portal you could have used the 20w14 ∞ snapshot (1.16 i think.) it was an "update" by april fools that means that when you drop the book and quill in a nether portal if that book had something written it would create a random dimension in accordance with what it was written in the book, creating infinite dimensions for minecraft, in one of these dimensions if you used the words "abatised redivides" you would be teleported directly to the End through the nether portal. Just a tip btw.

For people who liked this, I recommend Pinu’s one block (non-regenerating)series that is similar. It’s not in hardcore, but they don’t even start with a bonus chest and it’s pretty cool.
Yeah I definitely recommend it! He only has a grass block at the start, spawning mobs by jumping off. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else do it the way he did it
issue is that version was designed to be beaten, which takes away some of the tension

I'm 100% just pulling this explanation out of my ass, but it's possible that copied books might not fill up the memory the same as manually typed books. You know, seeing as there's a distinction between the types.
If not, then whoopsie daisies, but that makes sense to me. Maybe copied books are just references to the original copy stored in memory somewhere? Dunno.
EDIT: Apparently I'm wrong, thanks to the few people for letting me know. Apparently each book stores their own seperate NBT data within their own itemstack, so as long as your copied / shadowed items are 1-per-slot, they'll all work for the chunk overloading.
@@euphro_ even if so, there are the buttons ctrl, c and v on your keyboard, he could've filled pages with ease instead of one letter at a time.
@@TheREALLofiatand at that point set up a script in AutoHotKey or something else to move items around in your inventory and you can bind a single hotkey to “systematically fill every book in my inventory with the letter b”
@@TheREALLofiatALSO, there's a specific set of chinese characters that weigh more space inside books than just "bbbbbbbbb..." (this was invented by a chinese technical minecraft server, ofc), so I'm assuming you'd need many many less books this way :)

1st time seeing this particular challenge, you are amazing, admitting when you mess u, showing your research and every glitch you made to get to the end was just super entertaining to see. Keep up the great work
For those who don't know how to/don't want to switch versions to get the gold, you don't have to: drowned will drop copper. Use the copper to make a lightning rod and put it in a pen with some pigs. Wait for lightning, and the pigs will be turned into zombie-piglins. You can then farm them for gold.
Edit: I think in this situation he didn't have grass for the pigs to spawn on, but if you're doing a superflat world or something like that, this works.

Obviously I knew you’d need to break the game a bit to get the end portal and lava, but I expected just a small version change. I am not at all disappointed with you going to the moon and making a machine that literally spawns an entire chunk of the world right in front of you. Well done as always. Very impressive
kinda fun to think of it diegetically as like this forgotten magic that allows you to freeze time (the floating sand/gravel thing) and manipulate reality

Not going to lie this kind of run looks extraordinarily fun despite the massive grind.
Fun fact: if you don't want to break your pinky finger just enable crouch toggling in the accessibility settings, when enabled instead of crouching when holding it pressing shift once will make you crouch and pressing shift a second time makes you uncrouch, no need to hold the shift key
People are used to hold keys so if thwy tey to switch it to toggle it eould mess things up

I have this problem a lot with Minecraft videos. I'm interested in the content, but the format of the video seems like it's intended for a younger, impatient audience. You don't need to try so hard to entertain me, I'm already interested in what's going on.

I did a challenge like this a year back but I started on the standard skyblock island with no more than a lava bucket and an ice block and I discarded the bucket right after making the generator (I did spawn with a tree because I'm not a masochist)
I went on for like 50 hours on that world and I made a slime farm and was about to make a gold farm but I needed magma blocks then tried making a magma cube and for that I needed wither roses so I went to make a wither skeleton farm but apparently inside the whole 1024 chunk perimeter the map I originally used as a template did not have a single fortress bounding box, and the only one there was was inside newly generated chunks with... blocks in it. and so I gave up on the world after spending 60 hours making farms for basically everything I could
all because there wasn't a bounding box
I tried carpet mod to spawn structures in but it doesn't spawn them with the bounding box so it's useless
if anyone knows how to generate a structure bounding box I'd love to hear it

For future reference, it would be far easier to just duplicate your books by placing a finished book in a crafting table with a blank one, creating two of them.

pretty sure its easier to use item shadowing as it would take far less time use to that due to not needed to get the materials for the books and gather the shulkers. its also somewhat exponential allowing you to create 432 books per dupe.

In reality, a Spanish youtuber managed to survive on a block, the trick was to look for a biome where it would just snow, wait for night to fall and hopefully a zombie with a shovel would appear, that's how he got blocks of snow and etc., it's called MRhugo, that man is the reincarnation of patience

When you discovered the infinite resource of wood, I felt like I was watching an anthropology doc on the history of the human race. It's so basic people overlook it a lot (especially now we have concrete and stonemasonry) but wood is pretty much the most important material in the world beside water and earth. Props to the devs for getting that right!

before starting the map, you searched for a seed that has the portal on a single chunk, otherwise the regeneration of the chunk with all the end-frames would not have worked (a few would be missing). (Some seeds generate the end-portal between 2/3/4 chunks, but more common between 1 and 2 generates)
when you were stuck and filling up books you could've went back to the 1.16 april fools update which lets you go to custom dimensions and you would've gotten an end portal from that
which is wayyyy easier than whatever you did
you should see Pinu's one block challenge series. Its actually insanely impressive what he does and the dedication he has. He literally started on ONE grass block and has progessed into the nether and beyond
Its extermely interesting what he did and I'd 100% reccomend watching it.
Right i have seen a few vanilla one block appearing of recent and i feel like pinu is the first and most in-depth individual who has done this challenge from what i have seen
Definitely better than this because of 1 grass block and no version switching, but he still used a portal room to get to the nether and end, but it’s possible to actually do everything from just the 1 block
yeah this reminded me of his series. it was honestly mind blowing to watch since it was spread throughout multiple videos and u could tell how long everything took.
Also JokeyPokey, he's much more technical about it starting with absolutely nothing but one bit of bedrock

Yes pinu’s one block vanilla happened a whole year before this guy used the idea and he didnt use a starting chest for his first block making his attempt in my opinion a whole lot harder

The chunk appearing out of thin air using a with circle surrounded by blood was cool and all but you could have just use the obe block at a time update and gotten the end portal that way
Fun fact: if you put the water source at head level with nothing below, you can bonemeal it and make more sources.
Damn, end portal summoning is soooo cool , it litteraly sounds like an ocult ritual.
This was insane, there were so many glitches in there that not many people know or would even think of to do this, absolutely incredible and congrats on beating it

You could fill the books faster with Ctrl+A Ctrl+C Ctrl+V. That way each press of Ctrl+V will give you several characters, not just one.
And using Chinese characters instead or roman ones, since Chinese takes more data storage per character

I'm not a hundred percent sure about that, since I think the strings are anyway stored in Unicode format, where each character (doesn't matter if Chinese or not) takes exactly two bytes, with less large characters being padded with one null byte each.
@@Lampe2020Let me correct you 🤓. What you are describing is called UTF16. Unicode describes which character corresponds to what number (codepoint). Encoding (UTF8, UTF16, etc.) tells you how to encode the codepoint into a stream of bytes.

So describing it as "Unicode" is more general but still correct.
Also you can copy books like you would do with maps by surrounding them with book & quills

Snow biomes also can be used to make snow blocks, use backup worlds for your advantage
The RUclipsr Pinu did a REAL one block Skyblock. No bonus chest. Just 1 block that doesn't respawn. And he made it, it's really cool to watch
Genuinely one of the best hardcore challenges I’ve seen, no Random cuts or fake content. Also pretty funny. Good job breaking things down too !
Pinu did it with a dirt block, not a bonus chest. Bonus chest has been done numerous times, but a dirt block as far as I know only once.

not to mention since it was hardcore mode, he was stuck in hard mode, so everything was as difficult to kill as it could get, and if that witch has threw poison at him, it would have killed him

Could you have potentially used the one block at a time snapshot? Its the 2022 april fools update and it had end portal frames inside chests. You could break the chest, pickup the end frame, put it in your offhand (idk if that is necessary or not) and load up a different version. May still potentially be in ur offhand

there is a version where you get end portal frames and end portal blocks (along with bookshelfs and echantment tables) when you spawn
technically, a chest is NOT a full block, so TECHNICALLY you beat the game on zero blocks. Good job!

You could just go to the nether , go in the 1 block at a time update and get end portal frames from the chests instead of writing those books .

You didn't need to do the chunk thing. You can get to the end using April fools updates. The "One Block at a Time" update has end portal blocks in nether fortress chests and the 20w14∞ snapshot you could throw certain books into nether portals which could send you to different dimensions with some of them just being the overworld with different coloring and those had strongholds with endportals.

but he proved that it wasn't possible. He used a glitch to spawn a chunk of the world back in -- so it was only possible using 1 block + 1 entire chunk. Impressive game knowledge up to the moon exploit, sure, but imo as soon as you change the game version you've forfeited the challenge. You might as well manipulate the code yourself to get whatever you need.
Smaller youtuber by the name of pinu that actually did the one block vannila not even with a starting chest if you want to see one where there is just some random chunk glitch

Tip: you can in fact access the end without dungeon forcing by going into the infinite dimensions update. You make a nether portal, light it up and throw in a book and quill with the word “green” in and it will teleport you to the overworld but everything is green. This place will be and exact replica of the overworld so there will be a stronghold. You can get the eyes of ender with another portal.
