Used this as a guide for my 2010 Berlingo B9 - it's the same shafts and almost exactly the same process. You can change both shafts without undoing the drop links, track rod ends or bottom ball joint. Took 45 minutes for tge long shaft and 30 for the short one. Thanks very much for the video.
I was looking all over the net to find a video about how to remove this particular bearing, Thank you much for posting this video is of great help... keep up the good work.
Well explained and carried out. i have just fitted a new clutch on my peugeot 306 but i couldnt release the centre bearing it had siezed solid, a common problem on these . had to release the carier bracket and pull it out from the back of the engine, total nightmare.
The gearbox seals are very fragile on Peugeot cars throughout the years. Even if the half-axle only slips a little bit out, the lip on the seal is broken and you pretty much always get a leak. I learned that the hard way on my first encounter with french cars and never forgot about that. And also the seal costs almost nothing and is easy to replace... Also lot of lubricant should be applied, it really helps a lot. but i got some good info on the peugeot intermediate bearing (i have a 206 that needs one now... ) Cheers! :)
Think it might be model-specific, ive not had to replace the seals on 406 or 407s and removed the drive shafts a few times through owning the cars and not needed to be be replaced. If you're just pulling axle straight out and pushing straight in it shouldn't damage the seal at all.
Well done though I have a few comments that may help others. That driveshaft is the same on right hand drive cars. At the beginning you said the gearbox is on the left, because the steering wheel is on the left. Not so. Gearbox is on the left in all FWD Peugeots. I think the job is easier if the pop the lower and track rod balljoints, though appreciate that can be dictated by the tools available. Hitting the bare end of the driveshaft with a hammer can round the threads, making reassembly near impossible. If you must strike the driveshaft end with a hammer, have a spare lose nut on the end of it to protect end threads. Brand new driveshafts including that bearing, both CVs and the gaitors can be had for £40 delivered. At that price it is highly questionable if it is woth just changing the bearing. Didn't mean that to sound critical. You got the job done and just added these thoughts to help others.
Hi Matthew, Great to see you commented. I like the comments a lot! Good to see people share the knowledge :) Have a great day and thanks for supporting the channel! Cheers
Did the bearing make any noise while driving?.... ive got a whining noise, same type of sound a bad wheel bearing makes, allthough the wheel bearing is ok. ?

After 18years the bearing is rusted shut AF😂 i was wondering how other people might have removed it but i guess brute force is what's best. Nice vid

40 bucks sounds cheap! I bet the driveshafts quality is also as cheap as the price.

Depends on your car model Thomas. Read the VIN number of your car and call the parts dealer. They will tell you precisely what you need.
The right key size is not 36 mm but 35mm😉.Very rare. You can buy it from Bezos.
