Every time you distroy one the Jackel goes into an invulnable phase with laser walls. After that he goes down and is vulnable for a limited amount of time, where you can deal him damage to it with the Parazon (indicated by a red arrow above its head). Repeate that 4 times and you win the fight. Small tip: if you jump stright up with a bullet jump you can gain enought hight to jump over the laser walls.
There's an exception: the game does not pause in open world missions even in solo mode. I think it's because of the day/night (or other) cycles, but yeah, you can generally pause the game when in solo mode by going to the menu.
I appreciate the detailed comment! I'll look into the melee combo thing when I get to a simulcrum Makes sense, that was my understanding of how this boss worked as well. I suspected the bullet jump height could avoid the red laser but I assumed it would require too much precision, which I'm not good at haha
Started watching your videos yesterday, just got up to the current one. Hell of a journey. Doing the Jackal fight over and over again is how you get all the blueprints for Rhino. Just luck on which drop you get at the end of each fight. There are other rewards as well, that you can look up online. All the tables for loot and drop rate and all that. Warframe is very much a building systems game, adding layers on layers for the last 11 years. The Jackal comes back again later in Duviri with harder difficulties and new mechanics. It’s important to remember that EVERYTHING you encounter at this low stage of play (before completing the entire star chart) is the game on beginner difficulty. Things are ramped up very very slowly at first. Once you have progressed the story to the Second Dream quest you’ll see more of the traditional Souls like gaming tropes. The story also gets MUCH more interesting.
Glad you've been enjoying it! It does seem like the game is on beginner difficulty at this low stage of play. I look forward to when it ramps up and the story getting more interesting
Tips of the day. When fighting the jackel, aim for his legs. The body and any leg that has been damaged will be invulnerable (mechanically for the fight, story wise cause armoured/broken). To finish off the jackel, you use the parazon. Think of it like the assassins blade from the Assassins Creed games that also doubles as your hacking tool. Finally, for the rhino part, it is a part that you collect. You need the main blueprint (from the market for credits) and the systems, neuroptics, and cerebrum from the fight. You will have to then build the three parts and then build the whole frame. The main problem with this process is the time it takes to craft in the foundry, but you can always level up stuff in the meantime, and eventually, you'll have enough to be always be cooking something in the foundry.
Good tip, it does seem like the legs are the only thing that take damage You're right, it reminds me of the assassin's blade Oh wow, that seems like a lot of time to craft them
@@Dintak3 if you farm all the parts and the resources required before you start the forging process, then the total time would be four days. 1 day for the neuroptics, chassis, and system. And three days to merge everything into the main blue print.
@Dintak3 Yeah, it seems daunting, especially when you're starting out. All I'm going to say about it is that it gets easier to bear, especially when you start collecting stuff and regularly building stuff in the foundry.
Out of all new content creators, I love your warframe series the best due to how carefully you look at everything! Learning the games is a *thing* and you're taking it really good! A couple things: ALL warframes are good in end game, and volt is one of the strongest actually, just use whatever warframe you like the most at any point Look at customization, just click on a warframe or weapon>customization. Then the upper part is attachmens and cosmetics, the bottom is colors. Since you have some palet colors, you can fully customize the colors of your warframe/weapons. AND your orbiter inside, ma! On the ship press Escape>equipment>orbiter(bottom)> orbiter appearance. There you can set the inside of your ship, make it all black, or red, cutomize it! Have fun! As I do enjoy seeing you having it :D
Everything stops for you when you pause because you're set to "solo only", so watch out for that if you ever change that setting. Rolling is your friend for forcefields and walls. It doesn't make you completely invincible or bypass laser sensors, but it does stop you getting knocked on your ass and taking a damage over time. (Which, for flame eximus enemies, really dangerous.) You might think to just back off and wait, but sometimes you dont have the space for it, so good to learn - roll into/through forcefields! I wouldn't bother trying to count numbers, if I were you. "Warframe math" aside, the variables that go into a damage number are many and varied, and it's simply not worth it (or even possible) trying to math it out for general play, you're better off just hitting the enemy with your sword and seeing what happens. Warframe is a game where incoming damage is either getting through to you or it isn't, and outgoing damage is either making healthbars move acceptably fast or isn't. There is a time and place for crunching numbers and calculating exactly how much damage you can pump and how to eke out every iota of damage, but that's build crafting territory, and that's a while away, at least.
I forgot about rolling, I'll need to try it I won't try to get exact numbers from the math anytime soon, just maybe if I get stuck and need to create a build for it
The number in the bottom right when you block (it also goes up when you hit an enemy with a melee weapon) is your combo multiplier. It goes up to 12x multiplier. It increases the damage of heavy attacks but those consume your combo. There's also mods that gives you benefits for having a higher combo counter. There's multiple ways to make it last longer, increase it faster or to make heavy attacks consume only a part of it. Also side-note : loot you receive in mission cannot be accessed to in any way until you actually extract from the mission. The only thing you gain immediately is affinity (without the bonus).
Interesting, I'll look into the multiplier when I access the simlucrum, it's a bit hard to isolate for it during normal fights I see, so you can only access loot after mission completion

Most haven't claimed the Taxon for this fight yet 9:20 - yes same exact Jackel and attack patterns, but now you will start getting electric hazards around the room. He gets faster at stage 3 as Lotus mentioned 13:00 - Jackel is healing itself for the limb you hurt, heals that limb as you recover your shields. Same at 14:30 15:00 - four health bars at the top, four health bars on the legs 15:40 - sigils are like a tattoo you can put on your frame, if you want (one on chest, one on back) 15:50 - correct, heavy units are the Eximus 17:30 - the message is titled "The Jackel" and is from "???" 18:00 - there are other things to go after in Nightwave, though the assumption is that you will play for more than an hour each week :P Congrats on your first non-quest planetary boss fight ^^ (Vor is Mercury's boss)

Yeah, the invasions are a reocurring thing that allows you access to certain weapons/a warframe/potatos/and certain resources. It's always worth checking what invasions are up atm when logging in to see if any have something you need. The game pauses when in a mission in solo mode. It's quite nice, actually. Once you start upgrading other mods you quickly run out of excessive capacity. The jackal was just yapping at you. The 3x and so on is just the combo multiplier. It increases the heavy melee attacks damage + with some mods increases other stats. Yeah, the limbs are the weakpoints of the jackal. Destroying one makes it go into the wall of lasers attack, then you need to basically go up to it and execute it. The red symbol floating over its head means you can execute it. The complete pause sadly doesnt work in certain missions (like open world ones) The adds are for getting energy/health, afaict. The jackal does get more deadly the more phases you defeated. With how much knockback the jackal deals, shooting at it from a distance usually works better. If the healthbar is grey, it is immune, otherwise it takes damage. You already broke both front legs, so only the back legs were still vulnerable. You can bullet jump over the electric walls The rotating laser is ironically easier to avoid by getting closer. You are doing fairly well, actually, IMO. Just not too experienced yet. There is nothing wrong with analyzing bosses/enemies. And yeah, the system is just one part. You need systems, chassis and neuroptics from the boss + the bp from the market to build the warframe. The actions having consequences is a fun surprise. :P

The Jackal was slower than usual for you because it had cold procs (freeze status) applied by your sentinel. The artax sentinel weapon (the blue beam) always does extra cold damage, and if it procs a cold status, enemies will slow down.
