- [ READ THE DESCRIPTION ] So just like with the video I put out a while ago, I uploaded a FNAF VHS tape that was meant to be a recreation of Squimpus McGrimpus's tape. After some good advice from them, It made more sense that I would take this in a different direction instead of making carbon copies. So I hope you enjoy this remake of The Bonnie joint movement test.

Not only do the animatronic models look "authentic", the attention to detail makes the tape itself feel real. Stuff like the little pauses after Freddy talks, and how Bonnie does every movement in a "perfect" way (ie, perfectly adjusted and moving the way it should). Even the art style of the logo ties it into the period. Gives me the same eerie feeling as watching actual diagnostic tapes

Also just saying, the section with Freddy was great and a little unsettling since his mouth didn’t move.
Your soooo right
Pretty sure the part with Freddy is a guy in a suit
It reminds me of the uncanny valley effect
huh?
I think it's a suit
The beginning of the tape feels so realistic. The vhs camera mic becoming distorted because of how loud the stage was if it was really that loud in real life. Other than that, you can still hear the voices of people in in the background as the loud sounds and music of the stage overwhelms their voices. The camera angel and lighting is fabulous, so are the animations of the animatronics, it really does give them that chuck e cheese vibe but feels like a video taken from a family camera. It really does give the found footage feel too because Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza (Fnaf 1 in this scenario) was opened possibly in early 1989 through 1993 when it was permanently closed and abandoned, making the vhs video feel like a ghost of its past. Its really amusing to use your imagination in these fnaf vhs tapes, thats how good they are.
Quick note - it appears, if this follows something similar to the games' storylines when it comes to the retirement of springlock mechanisms, that they did finally get around to making a separate exoskeleton for the suits to be built onto for wearing, because as is obvious by the eyes and movement of that intro Freddy (the one who instructs you, not the stage animatronic), it's a suit worn by an employee.
i love these models. i’ll always love the og fnaf models but these ones look so real, like they would actually be something at chuck-e-cheese.

See, this is why I love your stuff: There are no real "jumpscares", but really creepy moments that culminate in a cut off ending. You don't see it attack, but you know something happened. Jumpscares make you scared for a little bit and are pretty cheap, but physiological manipulation of the brain, making you wonder what happened, stays with you much longer. Things like those eyes staring at you, the flash of the beacon, the music; It all builds something terrifying up. But then it stops. Humans do not fear the dark. They fear what is not only inside the dark, but also what their mind conjours up. The human brain takes something scary and makes it 10 times worse than if you knew what it was. Keep up the amazing work, dude.

These Characters have alittle bit of Chuck-E-Cheese design to it, and thats what make them creepy to me
Actually a lot closer to the Rock Afire Explosion from Showbiz pizza! Still very creepy though.
Older looking animatronics and robots honestly seem creepier than newer ones. Older ones usually tried to be more realistic and more detailed, while now animatronics are more “cuter”, or cartoony. Older animatronics usually have eyes that stare into your soul, and strange facial features, while newer ones have larger eyes like cartoons. Sometimes they had more teeth too, with didn’t help for obvious reasons. Sometimes the way the robots move are just unsettling, sometimes they don’t blink, or their jaws or mouths don’t move. The faces were usually made out of some sort of rubber, so the faces were creepily detailed and realistic, and sometimes the rubber-like material make the face and jaw look weird and move in strange, unnatural ways. Some animatronics looked a little better then, but they still didn’t exactly look cute in any way, to me, atleast.
@@starryy1044 Some of the animatronic masks are actually made out of silicon rubber, like the Rock-afire explosion, and man, you don't want to leave them running for too long or else their masks will start to melt. Not only making them break but also making them look ten times creepier.
Yeah there terrifying
@@TempusTheFirst It's not a result of them running too long. It's just the result of the latex being old. That just happens eventually over the years. Only thing you can do is replace the face masks when they start to melt. Because if not they'll melt onto the eye mechanisms and you'll have to do a lot of cleanup work to make the eyes work again.
0:28 as we can see here. He could possibly be wearing the spring lock suite with those fake eyes. Just like in the nonexistent video.
The craziest thing about FNAF is that it got me so genuinely interested in animatronics, and I grew up with not a lot of money to go to chuck-e-cheese as a kid so I've only been once just recently this past summer, and watching it put me in shock. Animatronics are an art form to me, their movement and history and process and the characters they envelope amaze me and I'm so glad this series portrays them on a very realistic and chuck-e-cheese/rockafire explosion light for the models.
I'm sure I'm not the only person who wants a game made with these models.
Edit: This is the most likes I've ever had in a comment tysm!

Dude, these models are phenomenal! It actually looks like something you'd see from an 80's party pizzeria and not some generic animal robot.
I’m not an animator but the robotic movement in this one felt pretty solid, aside from some uncharacteristically fast moving parts and joints bouncing too much when they reach the target position, the sound design and general movement felt pretty solid, nice work
I think the "bouncing" is meant to convey that the metal parts have a lot of intertia and so the momentum makes parts of the robot that aren't actually moving "shake" a little bit, like it's not 100% perfectly stabilized. Given how every movement is very start-and-stop with no momentum, this makes sense.
I think it’s like that to save on render time
The parts have always been animated like that by most people. While logically it would be quite easy to program an animatronic like these to move in many ways - you could make it move organically (or at least with less stops and starts, just make it ramp up in speed when moving, give it some variance in its movements, and a whole lot of idle animation and it would seem like it's a worn suit), or it could move excessively abruptly, or like these, where they snap into place and intentionally rebound. This style of animation, however, cements that it's a heavy metal mechanism moving into place and that, as much as they try to imitate life, they never will succeed - it also helps the possessed or worn ones be very easily differentiated, as they move smoothly and organically. It's a tad aggressive, but it helps make it obvious.
you arent a yelp reviewer we dont need your input
As a horror fan I am genuinely in love with the aspects of this video and all others by this channel, the way you strayed from the old cannon models and made them you’re own was absolute perfection.
In an alternate universe, Freddy Fazbear’s is a game where you watch over the animatronics in the day and take them back to parts and service every once in a while to repair them and make sure the employees are doing their jobs. The pizzeria is owned by two friends, William and Henry. They enjoy their job and love children.

Gotta agree with you on that one. I always liked horror stories, but FNaF never seemed one for me, it was just a game about haunted animatronics. Yet another fantastic short, everything about this screams quality, the little camera segment at the start was a nice introduction, and it was very well animated as well, but it kind of doesn't make sense in-universe for it to be grouped up with the actual tape, but I can excuse it for the sheer cool factor of it. Another thing I loved was the little Freddy fazbear mascot costume introduction at the start, the animation there was a bit wack, but it gets the job done surprisingly well, and the actual joint movement test bit and its following scare was pulled off amazingly as well.
