I could listen and watch that downpour all. day. long. So soothing! I've never seen this resort before, it's true South Carolina charm with the palmetto trees, marsh and spanish moss - beautiful!

I had a bad-ass amazing boss who told me EVERY woman should travel alone at least once per year. We are moms/wives/partners/etc. and we instinctively need to make sure everyone is taken care of. By traveling alone we only focus on ourselves and that is an oh so precious thing. Thanks for embodying this and sharing Jen ❤️

I watched a few (and there are very few) RUclips’s on Disney’s HH, and I felt like I needed more information. Well...your video gave me great information. Love the walking distance to the Marina and restaurant(s). I can see your series on HH will fill the void in the current yts out there. Great job as always. Looking forward to Day 3!

grew up going to palmetto dunes in HHI because my grandparents live there!! Nothing like that island and mix in Disney and it’s a perfect match 🥰

(Jane) Seeing the DIsney sign as you drove in gave me goosebumps. I was planning a trip to Disneyland in January and I'm reluctantly coming to the realization that is probably not going to happen. At this point I'm just happy to see something Disney. Thanks for sharing your trip!

It looks beautiful there. I do not mind going places on my own at all. It can be so relaxing to only have to worry about yourself and do whatever you want to do. I have never went on an actual vacation by myself, but I think it would be a great experience.

Great video, and I might know that Patrick who was "fastidiously" cleaning the lobby. ;-) First time I have seen one of your vlogs, alerted by someone on another forum site, and after one video, I can honestly say you're one of the best I've seen: natural, informative, relaxed, and not over the top with music, graphics, etc. And, you've captured the essence of DHHIR already in this video.

Also: I would never have the courage to eat by myself out in a restaurant...not even a McDonalds :p (I struggled with eating disorders throughout my teens so...still have a difficult time with that)That is one of many things that has always kept me from doing a solo trip.
I get that, Annelies, and honestly you're not alone and the first few times it was odd but I've come to really love it!

That is a beautiful place. We walked around the marina. I had no idea it was that close to the Disney resort. I would have certainly looked. Was a Disney Springs today and looked for that China. They do have some that looked close. But it had a dark navy design inside. (But I could totally be remembering what yours was - completely wrong.) What a relaxing place.

Amazing... I’m sold. My husband loves when restaurants are walking distance to the resort makes him feel like he is at WDW. Thanks for sharing. Now I just need to decide if I want to fly next Oct/Nov. I live on the West coast.
It is a totally unique property, Tina! and I didn't even really get to explore the area due to the rain and the great unpleasantness!

The Beach House day was my FAVORITE and I'll start editing it tonight - hoping to have it up on Friday!
There is also a ton of great dining elsewhere on the island, usually less than a 15 minute drive. If the world ever gets back to somewhat normality, it is worth it to explore beyond the Shelter Cove area. A trip out to the Harbour Town resort is also always great even though you have to pay a few bucks to enter the resort. The marina, the red and white lighthouse, the shopping and dining are very nice.
With only 3 days and the rain, I honestly didn't get to explore nearly as much as I wanted and when the weather was good I was on the beach! Next time for sure.
We still have yet to try a dole whip WITH rum, but they sound absolutely delicious! This resort really does look amazing!

Omg! I didn’t know they had dole whips there I’ve never had one before. Ive been to Disney World about 15 times and have never seen them on the menu before. Room 1111 is good luck too

Hi Jen, firstly, how is the foot? Secondly the view from you balcony in the rain was exceptional, i could watch that for hours. (not fun to be stuck in a UK downpour though) . And the photo of Walt was brilliant.
Steve it's so much better - actually went for a one mile walk yesterday and although it was hurting by the end, it's definitely on the mend.
I think God sends us rain on vacation just to force us to slow down & appreciate His creations!

Honestly it was the perfect getaway for me!
Disney HHI is fine if you don't mind taking a shuttle bus to the beach.
I drove my car and you could also walk (it's just over a mile). I'll grant you it's not nearly as convenient as being right on the beach but the beach there is just lovely so I didn't have a problem with it.

Jen, I have a neat little $7 grippy tripod from Amazon that sits perfectly on my dashboard and works great for driving shots. The only trick was finding another short enough mount for it after my first one broke. If the mount is too tall, it doesn't fit under the windshield. Did you have an issue with mosquitos here?

No hot tub at the beach house but there was a hot tub at the pool at the resort itself.

10 cup Mr Coffee with the regular coffee filter (not the cone type)
Hate living on Hilton head, the rich tourists make money for the millionaires in the plantations while the poor work their life away in the resorts and stores that the tourists vacation in.
I'm sorry you don't like where you live. I worked retail for years so I know what hard work it is! But it's a good job and the pay is not horrible and I was always grateful for the work.
