Fun fact 1: The stop is even called *Dom*/Hauptbahnhof Fun fact 2: They seem to know that they have to go *there* 3:38 ff But the KVB might get a bit overwhelming if you are new to Cologne, I remember instances where I made comparable mistakes when I first came here
We don't have that much sunny days in germany than you are used to from California, Florida or Texas. That's why we celebrate every sunny day as a holiday.
ElRackadusch well in the 'hochsommer' there will be phases where there are sunny days only for like 2-3 weeks. And i mean we had one of these phases even now in april. 2 weeks of Super sunny weather and above 20°C... what i'm trying to say is, that sometimes its also emty outside on a sunny day.
Thanks for making that clear. I am german, but I thought, compared to some states in the U.S. it's lot less sun. The city New York is on the same latitude than Rome or Belgrade. So the north of the U.S. is more south than germany.^^
ElRackadusch yeah, i know and you are right, that we get a lot less sun than these states... But for me, as a southern badener, i kinda like the way the weather is. But being south doesn't automatically mean more sun... Especially if you compare it to a different continent with different weather conditions. I mean i know that NYC is as south as rome, but ofcourse rome has better weather and it is alot more sunny and warm. And in winter, new york gets much more snow that the entirety of germany... So its kinda difficult to compare these climates
Yes, but a country closer to the equator normally is warmer (at least seen over the year). If you compare Berlin to New York, there is a significant difference in temperature: www.wetter.de/klima/europa/deutschland/berlin-s99000032.html www.wetter.de/klima/nordamerika-mittelamerika/usa/new-york-s99000050.html
I don't think you'd call the station for the tram "Bahnhof", the bahnhof is the big thing for the full size trains, the trams drive to their "haltestelle", literally the place where they stop, just like with buses. They have Haltestellen.
The most important reason to cross the street only by green light is ... to give a good example for the klittle kids ! ... They have still to learn how fast cars could be.
Conner that's so wise word from you, when you said it doesn't matter whereyou come from or how you look like! It matters how you and me take the bettels about life's high and low and that we all are equally beautiful. Thank you.
Nah, you can also eat there: www.cubana-koeln.de/speisekarte But the owner is one certain Nurettin Pak, so Conner might as a US-American eat latin-american food in Germany in a joint owned by a presumably turkish person
honestly the best time to come is during karneval!! you guys should come here o the 11/11 it's the start of karneval. your minds will be blown, it's the best time of the year, everyone goes absolutely nuts!!
You and Silas could go to a traditional May festival on the 1st of May Especially in the South of Germany there is one of those in almost every village :)
Go to Munich to the river Isar on a sunny day and eat a "Leberkäsbrötchen", "Germknödel" and "Kartoffelsalat" (german potato salad, maybe with "Bratwurst"). And go to the castles "Schloss Linderhof" in Ettal and/or "Schloss Neuschwanstein" in Schwangau and to the water park "Therme Erding" in Erding which is all near Munich. Maybe do it during the soccer world cup and go to a place where they do public viewing/to a fan mile and watch a game of the german team with hundreds/thousands of other people.
Sunshine... we go OUUUUUT!!!!! With blanket! And fruits! And music! And beer! And water! And a book! Hahahahaha yeahhhh😆😆😆👍🏼 06:20: It is Zülpicher Platz, Student bars area! Very close to the biggest University of Cologne and Campus ;-)
If you happen to go to Munich one day, you HAVE to go to "der verrückte Eismacher"! It's a place where you can eat ice-cream that tastes like completely crazy thing of which you'd have never thought as an ice-cream flavour. The last time I was there, I had one that tasted like cucumber-salad and it was SOOO INCREDIBLY GOOD!!! You can go there by using the U-Bahn and going off at "Universität" and then you walk around 5 min. and honestly, it's reaaally worth it!
You are right! Mixed it up. Duisburg Marxloh is the right name.;) ruclips.net/video/k3i0KJ__Dek/видео.html Berlin Marzahn is in comparison a high end housing area.^^
How about some different trip kinda beside the international tourists path: Paderborn with it's old City wall, headwaters in the park and "famous" Baseball Team the "Untouchables" (not too far from Marburg). Or the beautiful tea town Emden and from there the fast catamaran Ferry to Borkum Island. Or Lübeck, Rostock and/or Rügen Island, the bicycle/student city Münster (Attention: i mean Münster with ü not Munster, that is a different one) with it's lake next to the zoo. Berlin, Munic, Hamburg, Cologne are those big cities which "everybody" visits, where so many made vlogs.
I love your Vlogs Conner. Seeing my country from a foreigner's perspective is simply amazing. It kind of made me realize how many amazing things there are that I never really appreciated
The Main cathedral of cologne is known as "Der Dom". If you wanna get there just get into one of those trains in direction of "Hauptbahnhof/Dom" It's nearly The Same tbf 😂
the street with the many Döner-shops is Zülpicher Str. It leads to the main buildings of the university. In fact: the area from Barbarossaplatz (where you got off the train) to zülpicher Str. is the student area. So there are many places to get relatively cheap food and drinks. Of the top of my head I could count one Cuban place, one Iranian place, one Vietnamese, a couple of Greek, a nice Arabian restaurant, couple of sushi places, Italian restaurants, a Caribean restaurant and of course a lot of Döner places. Plus the two best cocktail bars in the city are located there. AS you notices Cologne is pretty international. You can find people from all over the globe here. In par because of the large university, but also because of trade fairs etc. Plus it has been said that Cologne is especially welcoming to foreigners. People are not as reserved here as in other parts of Germany. And YES, we walk on red lights - shame on us =;-))
I have bad news for you. ALDI is slowly getting rid of their bread wending machines, because they are inefficient. They can only offer you a small range of pastries and many of them land in trash because of wrong orders. They'll enlarge their range of pastries and continue to sell them on shelfes.
You should visit berlin during the world cup when germany is playing. But only if you're interested in watching a live game on a huge screen with a million people around you...that's not a figure of speech, it's LITERALLY 1.000.000 (or even more) people.
Probs to that dude with the Kölner Haie cap 🦈🙋♀️ @Conner: on your next visit to cologne you should check out a hockey game of them! The Arena is awesome. You will love it 😉
At 6:32 Barely to see The Pub Stiefel where A.Hopkins and B.Kingsley sat in for a movie not long ago.Cologne is special-Its ridiculous / awesome and ugly/beautyfull at the same time.Best area to be and Im glad to be back!
you are so so so so fun to watch! Me as an german student living in germany like half an hour drive to cologne am having so much fun watching you expierincing germany ! Please more german videos ! And " Übe dein deutsch weiter mein freund" :)
Dude, you got serious rhythm, and ya sound like you grew up in the hood, a L. A. gangsta lingo. Das gut und wunderbaur, gut gesundhiet brudars. Totaly sic.
I would love to see your reaction when visiting a local brewery like the "Früh" or the "Gaffel am Dom". In Cologne we got some unique traditions like the "Köbes" or putting your beermat on your glass when you don't want any more beer. Otherwhise they will bring you more without asking, which is great for us, but can be troublesome for tourists.
Come and visit some small citys with 5k, 10k or less population and see how beautiful the country is outside from the big citys =D I live 100 Km from cologne in such a nice place
Yessss, new Connor vlog! Loving it! Cologne is awesome, especially the huge cathedral! Me and my bro vlogged living with wild elephants in the jungle 😁
I wouldnt risk it. Before you pay something in the supermarket it is the property of the market. So when you eat before paying it can be handled as a "damage to property" (same when you wanna test grapes). Most markets dont care because they want happy customers but in fact they could sue you.
Fynmar i mean i agree thats easier and in most cases nobody will say anything but technically its kinda illegal (in Germany at least) and there are enough people that will create a problem out of smth like that
Nein du kannst trinken und essen so viel du willst, erst beim verlassen des Supermarkts gilt es als Diebstahl. Wenn du bezahlst, wirst du keine Probleme bekommen. :) After you leave the Market without paying its a problem. Nobody will say anything to you if you eat and drink before. Its a law in German markets. After you step out of the market without paying what you got its a problem. So no risk at all!
Maybe you should visit a racing event at the green hell (Nürburgring). Its not far away from Cologne and soon the 24 hours of racing is starting there 10 May.
Hey Conner if you are still in Cologne please try the "Lommerzheim" in the Siegesstraße 18, 50679 Köln. It's so good that back in 1999 Bill Clinton wanted to eat the famous "Lommi-Kotlett" but when the Secret Service called the restaurant and said for that reason they have to vacate the building so just trusted people are sitting in the guest room; the owner (Mr. Lommerzheim) declined the request.
What a pity, that you both didn't spend much time inside of the Cologne Cathedral to see all of the beautiful and breathtaking sights inside of this wonderful ghotic building, f. e. The Shrine of the Three Kings. In fact, you deserve a slap for not climbing up the South Tower to have a wonderful view all over the City of Cologne...
Come and visit southwestern germany. We have the best climate with mediterranian influence a lot more sun than the rest of Germany, historic cities, black forest and of course the best wine ! Greets from Stuttgart 🇩🇪
"only walk when it's green". This women was like, bish I have no time for dat. xDDD that happens actually alot and not only infront of a traffic light, they could even pass by the road where no traffic lights or crossing lines exist xDDDD. The place you been at looks like south cologne. and you can take the train directly to the cathedrale "Dom". living in germany for almost 20 years I been almost in every corner of the city but not on the north side. haha 7:12 is Neumarkt if you walk straight you get to another station (Haltestelle) called Heumarkt or you turn left and get to the cathedrale cologne is like a huge labyrinth.
Most people don't cross red lights, because we were taught so. Especially if you are riding your bike you really should wait for green. If you don't that would be a fine of up to 180€ and a point in Flensburg. After you get your license, you are on probation for two years. If you violate any traffic laws, that give you any points, your license will get terminated. If your probation is over and you have 8 points your license will get terminated as well.
Met you at the American football elite skills camp and since then I watched so many videos from you. Shortly after I found silas channel and you guys are so funny
Fun fact I (the wise-ass) always like to bring up, when it comes to that topic: It's funny that Americans call them French fries, although they were invented in Belgium (a "trilingual" country - one is French)... ;-)
Ich glaube die Temperatur bezog sich auf die backfrischen Brezeln, die grade aus dem Offen geholt wurden und daher zu heiß sind und nicht auf die Außentemperatur.
I live in cologne. And I was in the city at the same day,but I haven't seen you. I hope I wrote everything right with the right grammar, because I'm bot so good at english in school
Hi guys, go to the Köllner Dom{ huge church} you will like it☺️. Other great city to explore Münster very old City has a big Studenten University...I was born there...now living in Las Vegas!! Wishing you both an awesome trip, lots of Love&Blessings Marion❣☘
Regarding the woman crossing the road while the lights are red: she probably just lives in cologne and knows the traffic. In some places, the only people stopping for a red light are tourists XD Of course in some places you would get run over instantly the moment you take a step on the street, but in most cases you can easily cross a road if you are careful and know the traffic there.
The traffic light thing is so fun tho! In big cities this occasionally happens but there is a golden rule: you can cross BUT don't ever do it while a kid is watching! And if you do cross while it's red AND a child is watching you have get hit by a car to be a bad role model and show them the consequences.
Part 1 - Part 2 coming soon! What are the best Cities to visit in Germany??
Conner Sullivan Steinbach nearby Frankfurt
Düsseldorf 😍
Hamburg
Hamburg, Dresden, Berlin
Berlin. Hamburg. Leipzig. München
I can't believe nobody told you to just drive to the Hauptbahnhof. When you get out of there, you are right infront of the Dom.
Exactly what i thought the whole time! It's not that hard to find :D
Fun fact 1: The stop is even called *Dom*/Hauptbahnhof
Fun fact 2: They seem to know that they have to go *there* 3:38 ff

@@hannesh4238 sorry to dig this out. But bratwurst is a well known loan word. It was still a nice joke, for Germans like me.
8:30 wtf 😂 that escaleted quickly
The man in the end that offers to take a picture is so adorable 😂😂😂
You guys clearly seem to be fascinated by the Bäckerei in Germany. It's funny.

The traffic light thing is so fun tho! In big cities this occasionally happens but there is a golden rule: you can cross BUT don't ever do it while a kid is watching! And if you do cross while it's red AND a child is watching you have get hit by a car to be a bad role model and show them the consequences.
You srsly ate that croissant in the shop before buying for it?
Straight savage, bro! :P
if the police or "Ordnungsamt" sees that you run over red you will get a ticket
not in big cities, police have better things to do ;)
