I'm just gonna say it Because at Least the ones this guys makes has some sense of consistency *_And they're videos get straight to the point instead of whatever overly loud and obnoxious stuff mat pat is doing_*
Well the point he made that reinforced deep slade is actually made out of Skulk, and the bones that grow out of itself because the Skulk came from a different dimension how could you build the portal out of the Sculk? It is not impossible because remember how he said that the smaller versions of the city center were labeled as small portal statues? What if just what if those small portal statues were actually prototype portals? After all they have portal statue as their name and considerate things that the deep sleep is actually made out of Skulk no small portals with the granted temporary access to that demention notice how I said temporary because I think the small portal statues were pretty unstable and so the portal was stopped working and turns into stone statues of their former self's seconds after being activated because of how unstable they were so eventually after several failed portal protype experiments they finally gather up enough skulk so they could to make reinforced deep slade, and eventually they create a portal to get to the nether where they got themselves some soul sand, and put it underneath the portal but this smooth, and steady reinforced deep slate experimentation wouldn't last forever as eventually as we here in disc 5 eventually when one of the the illagers that was out caving collecting precious resources he hears something other than the phantoms out on the surface he rushes to the surface to see the wither is floating about, so in the first section of the disc we hear emergency sirens blaring as the ancient City home of the illagers all of the illagers that were part of the army suited up to protect the ancient cities in hopes that they could try, and take the wither down once they got to the secure entrance, and then pulled the giant lever to open up the gates their worst fears have actually come true that the wither has followed them down into the depths eventually they start hearing loud thugs, and explosions that are distorted by the cave system which means the weather is firing wither skulls, and as the explosions started to get louder they knew that this mean that the wither is getting closer, and are happening more often this means they're getting more frequent, so they rushed into a try and then finish the new version 1.0 portal to the new dimension that they've been trying to reach with the small portal statues, but once did they light the soul Sand underneath the portal to activate it the weather breaks through one of the illager guards that tries to use blocks to tower over to the portal to reach it, but it's not what they expect from that portal comes the warden in which insta kill the wither super quickly, but also brings with it way more skunk into the world the in the entire illiger population of over the ancient City could throw back through the portal, and what they didn't realize is that the skunk is a deadly invasive species, but they didn't realize that when the warden first came through the portal, and killed the weather so they're like: this dude is a God because he was able to kill the wither in one shot! So they decided to put candles around the portal that the Warden came out of, and made it, so that the portal was shaped, so it looked like the warden in order to worship the warden however this blissful ignorance doesn't last forever because eventually as they're carrying on with their lives they accidentally activate three Skulk shriekers which resummons the warden which kills many of their population, and when it happened around the new skull catalysts that were scattered all around this caused the skulk to spread pretty quickly all over the illagers Homeland the ones that didn't die to the warden put down carpets, and wool to make sure that they didn't make sounds while they were walking, so that the warden wouldn't accidentally killed them, but it wasn't enough because just the very act of opening their own chests cause the Skulk sensors to go off eventually so they decided to flee the city, and eventually they found the strongholds underground, and met up with the ancient builders the ones who showed them the way the ones that showed their ancestors how to fight the piglins, and help create their society that they now live in, but the illagers being able to live with the ancient builders eventually became cut short as eventually the ancient builder has created a Portal to the end dimension which eventually once all the ancient builders who knew how to make eyes of ender that allowed the end portal to be a two-way trip went through the portal, and the portal deactivated also now for the illagers the only people who knew how to make to those special eyes of ender were gone, and over time the instructions on how to build an end portal became lost to time because the ancient builders left their journals the detailed how to build the end portals, and the eyes of ender back in the stronghold which they can't assess any more eventually there journals of how to make those kinds of eyes of ender started to become unreachable as time went on with the owners losing more and more the ancient builders language which made deciphering their journals even harder as time went on for the illagers, and because of the engine builders had such a different language after, so much time the illagers couldn't read, or decipher the words in their journals any more because they use standard galactic alphabet 1 which is now a language they can't really understand anymore, so eventually the journals that contained the knowledge needed to bring the engine builders back completely rotted away now the ancient builders could never get back home luckily the ancient builders Left behind enough spare eyes of ender that made the portal a one-way trip behind, and the villagers have been completely forgotten how portals work, so they could at least figure out how to activate the portal as we see in every one in a trillion of all strongholds that already have all 12 eyes of ender in them, and they put them into the end portal, but they didn't know if it was safe on the other side because they didn't know what the end dimension was like, and ask yourself this if you were somehow able to activate a portal left behind by beings that were much smarter than you, or your entire species that to you, and your entire species saw as essentially God because they were able to make technology that goes beyond even your civilization's smartest people's imaginations then would you risk it, and go through the portal because you saw that the being that were much smarter than you have never returned ever since they last went through the portal when it closed? No! Of course not! So the illagers assumed that it was extremely dangerous to go through, and only the ancient builders could go through, so then they he went into the rare dark forest biomes in which very few people see, and made mansions out of a dark oak wood, and found in those biomes, so that no one could find them, and to make sure that no villager that didn't sign up with them, or wasn't born into their society would ever be able to find out about her deep dark history that they wanted to keep secret no wonder her all the illagers evokers, and vindicator's in the woodland mansions, and pillager Outposts attack at the player right on sight it's because they don't want their history to be uncovered, and, so that's why I think woodland mansions, pillager outposts, And ancient cities exist. 😅😅😅😅😅😅
I am not sure if you know this But in the Minecraft official novel The End all about enderman it states that Enderman do in fact speak telepathically to each other (I used to do Minecraft lore videos so I still know a lot about minecraft lore lol)
Well done well done indeed my friend! this is one of my favorite lore videos of yours! i love how much you theorize about these and also put good work into them! i cant wait for more theories in the future and the release of your mod!
An interesting note about the warped forest and skulk! Warped wart is likely directly related to skulk, being blue/green and in mcd the warped forests have the starry effect along with "blue nethershrooms" causing explosive blasts akin to skulker/blastling blasts. Infact the warped wart is likely a more primitive and ineffective skulk. Warped wart also seems to turn piglins pink/purple (like endermen) and the nether is absolutely filled with soul magic and wither skeletons (strikingly tall skeletons) are enemies of the piglins which could be cause of the endermen leaving the piglins behind. All in all the nethers soul sand valley and warped forests are the primitive and incompatible technology of early enderlings
Personally I don't see that relationship I mean if it was related to skulk then explain these questions Why aren't hoglins afraid of skulk you would think they would fear it if it's a variant of the blue warped forests it would fear it all the same Also why no mushrooms? wouldn't they also grow from skulk that's not even mentioning the biggest flaws to your theory What's the deal with the warden if it's really from the nether you'd think you would see some in said nether home but you don't especially since the ruined nether portals don't show any signs of the skulk instead all skulk is kept in the lowest part of the earth where most mobs don't dare to venture to
@@tjk-goix8513 warped forest has been called “where the nether meets the end” by mojang staff officially, plus in dungeons there is a plant that resembles twisting vines but purple rather than blue in the end levels
I don't know what to do with this information. But you know how there's the *heart* of Ender the *eye* of Ender. Well, the *heart* of the sea and it opens To reveal It's also an *eye*
I still think there were at least builders present in the ocean ruins, since they are inhabited by drowned (zombie villagers cannot become drowned), perhaps both builders and villagers/warriors coexisted in them, with the same being true for the monuments? We even see a builder living alongside and trying to defend villagers in the opening cinematic of dungeons. I remain fairly convinced that the ancient cities were of builder make, as they have a couple things in common with trail ruins. The first is the highly prevalent use of candles, something they were clearly quite fond of as both the trail ruins and the ancient cities are absolutely covered in them. Next is a bit of an odd one: music discs. Music discs are only obtainable when a skeleton (an undead builder) kills a creeper, or when looted. This connection to undead builders as well as the trail ruins having their own music disc seems to suggest that discs were made by builders, so the presence of both intact and fragmented discs in the ancient cities implies that they were inhabited by them (the only exception to the disc theory is pigstep, but that could've been traded for at some point). A few other things on the ancient cities: I'm 99% sure that blue on the reinforced deepslate is just shading. We already know builders used redstone on account of powered rails in mineshafts and the jungle and desert temples, plus the lab is too short for endermen/endersent to use. Things in minecraft are named based on how an adventurer would name them, so a sculk sensor has its name because it senses you, it doesn't mean they were designed. I'm sorry, but the sound comparisons are a real reach, ranging from reused assets with slight alteration or just not really sounding like the thing you're comparing them to (the vex/sculk comparison stands out in particular here, they just aren't very similar)
Yeah that makes sense. It's possible that the Ocean/Desert/Jungle Civilizations was a Villager-Human Civilizations. Based company the villager statues in dungeond and the creeper Hyroglyphics in desert temples to the traps and redstone.
He also forgot that that deep dark biome exists which would explain the city being designed with sculk in mind and explains the portal itself. They were trying to built a portal to this new dimension as sculk is clearly not natural in the overworld like the end stone found in end portal frames
Also, (and correct me if I'm wrong about any of this) even if the reinforced deepslate has sculk in it that could just be a design choice seeing how the end portal is made of Endstone which is paradoxically only found in the End
Ok first of all I do believe you are correct about the ancient builders living in the ocean ruins. However concerning the music disks you forgot that both cat and 13 can be found in both dungeons and woodland mansions, also the whole thing with creepers dropping music disks is actually a reference to disk 13 where a skeleton shoots a creeper and it explodes. And finally the bones in bone blocks and in skeletons look very different compared to sculk bones in the fact that they are a lot more pale and sculk bones have a beige (end stone) hue to them and the bones in reinforced deepslate have this beige hue.
This theory is incredible. I love the way you explain things in a simple and understanding way! I love the Minecraft lore yet noone explains it well or talks about it very much. And MatPat's theories are not my favorite, so I am glad I found your channel!
I am so hungry for lore videos, especially on illager culture, and you've done an incredible job breaking down where they came from and how they developed to where they are now. This and your Minecraft Dungeons recap video inspired me to pick up both the game and its accompanying novel, and I loved them both. Thank you for putting this together, I'll definitely keep an eye out for more of your lore videos!!
I love how you think about how an empire had to evolve all creatures and intellehant life not just one great race, it just makes the world feel more cool like how a piglen empire could be jn works with a pillager one as they act so simular i feel like
11:10 《Hot take》 Imo, we don't see Pillagers of varying skin coloration because they tried to canonize using 1 unique texture for every mob for simplicity's sake. That basically means everyone wears the same clothes, idiomatically speaking. Lol
Managed to blow me away with the Ancient City connection, and how the forces of ender make their influence known in the most subtle of ways in your theories.
i mean the players probably had the same problem as the warriors, no purpose, nothing to fight, so mayeb they grouped with Warrior Tribes and participated in the same activities. They might've even went into the ancient cities with them, which made the people more open to accepting new species (like the enderlings)
@@Xatrix Also, if the ocean monuments were built on land, why are their prismarine golems(guardians) aquatic? They were intentionally built to get around by swimming and swimming only. Maybe the illagers who built them were trying to colonize the sea as a challenge or something?
@@Laff700 since monuments have sponge rooms, they likely built them and then continued to maintaint them as the waters rose, eventually building guardians to defend them after they left. unfortunately they did not come up with a counter for players with doors and milk
i think disc 5 (at least the first part with the endersent) is a record of the Ancient city's inhabitants defending the city against the previous holder of the orb of dominance since we hear endersents that could be keeping wardens at bay. the wither might have been a last resort
So it is stated in The Rise of the Arch Illager (I don’t remember specifically where though) that the orb was only with one person before Archie. Which that would mean (unless the timeline is completely screwed up) that the Seer would have had to have been alive and in the ancient city at the time of disc 5 taking place. Now note that I have very little in depth knowledge of this stuff so I may have missed something and this comment may be completely irrelevant.
Maybe the wither is a fallen celestial being that wants revenge on the mojang celestial beings for banishing him and is known as the deity/celestial being of undeath so now It makes so much sense that the necromancers and the necromancer kingdom be worshiping the wither
In fact, 13:03 and how it elaborates about the Illagers' connection to the Ancient Cities reminds me of the Drow (from DND.) It's still possible that there may still yet be some Illagers with simpler, more honest souls - as proven by Archie.
41:32 Omg I always thought the portal looked like action specifically but never knew that it was actually the entire wells/host symbol. Which makes a lot more sense than just Action specifically
I really like this theory! There are some parts I don't agree to, like the protagonist of the disc and others, but this is really a good theory. Keep it up!
I've figured out a Minecraft timeline of sorts.... with some unofficial creative liberties. -Villager News -Testificate News -Villager News 2 -Villager News 4 -Villager News 3 -Minecraft (Steve killing the Ender Dragon) -Minecraft: The Aether -Minecraft (Alex killing the Wither) -Fallen Kingdom 1-4 -MCSM S1-2 I havent finished it yet so its like 40% done
Probably the best explanation I've heard for the 5 disk and one of the best Minecraft theory videos I've seen! Just keep going bro, and that mod you're making back there looks 🔥
I actually have a theory on that the Warden was actually a lot different before the ancient city got destroyed, you probably know about Matpat's theory on how the wither attacked the ancient city, well what if when the warden was created and the wither attacked the city, Warden absorbed it making the three souls in its chest referring to the wither's three heads and the skeletal structure being from absorbing it's bones as well as its projectile sonic beam reminiscent of the wither's projectile, but that's just a theory.
Matpat was wrong many times, He was wrong about the Ocean Ruins, he completely forgot Dungeons, and the Wither cant even really move around, even when the target is in a cave and right under the Wither.
I’ve always had a theory that after the fall of the Great Hog, the Seer took advantage of his fall be making an alliance with the now disgruntled Illagers who were shunned by the villagers at the end of legends and placed the heart of ended in the over world so that he could use whoever uses the orb as a vessel and continue the Great Hog’s legacy. Perhaps the Seer is more than just a side villain but perhaps the overarching antagonist of the whole Minecraft Mythos.
The End's soundtrack is filled with static... now it makes sense as to why. They want to communicate with us as we wander the End! The Enderlings being telepathic is already prominent in my unfinished fanfiction. I'm so glad it's been brought up here! I wouldn't be surprised if the Enderlings had telekinesis as well. I didn't think the sculk was connected to the End or of Enderling creation. I always thought it was a parasite, feeding on the souls of whatever dies near a catalyst. I still wonder if the sculk took control of the last city inhabitants, forcing them to feed it more souls so it can grow, before absorbing its final few hosts and falling dormant until we arrive. At that point, the Enderlings would see the sculk as a threat and decide to avoid it altogether, instead experimenting further with void power and end magic.
*_"Who are you..?"_* _"The three of you don't remember me? Funny... I never forgot about all I did for you and these people - only for you all to leave them to rot because you got cold feet..."_ *_"WHY ARE YOU HERE!?!"_* _"You killed a good friend of mine... a little boy who didn't even have a future, yet... he still looked up to me like a hero..._ *_and for that, I'm going to ensure that this voidscape you call "home" will be forgotten forever... even if it means erasing my own name from the pages of history in the process!"_* ● a really cool "What if?" that just formed in my head
@@trumediamix1 That was interesting. Really liked the term "voidscape". You basically summed up the Sculk Civilization's motives, except instead of a single person's death being the catalyst for their anger towards the End, they were angered by the Enderlings abandoning them for their own safety.
yes it hits all the points but then in your point of view , Xatrix who are the Ancient builders and what did they do to have an impact in the present overworld
I wonder if the main tower of ancient city's was somehow a way for them to communicate with eachother. Making code through vibrations and reverberating them through the mountains. That's an idea that I first had when seeing them
Only like 2 months until Live can't wait to see what is gonna happen But if it is something like a TALES AND TRAILS UPDATE, then I will be furious Same with MCD
24:02 Something shown off fairly recently in a video on the official Minecraft youtube channel is that originally, some of the sculk and warden prototypes *had the end portal rendered inside them*. They don't bring attention to it, but you can see it when they show off some of the prototypes.
Your massive theories great magnificent! I even had my own theory, remember my question: "What if the Orb of Dominance/Heart of Ender is the 4th host?" My theory: At the Beginning: Foresight, Action, Knowledge & Dominance used to be friends until for whatever worse happen that Dominance caused (probably dominating people into submitting as slavery). The Hosts made water damage Dominance, trap inside an orb, and banish it to the void; After constructing the Ancient city, I reckon Dominance trying to create a portal to enter the host dimension. At the End: Dominance never return to their original home.
Could definetly see the warden being the result of an illager being jealous of the villager's iron golem constructs and going to the extremes of using this otherworldly material to create a warden
we know the pillagers explored the underground ruins and camped there sometimes, but i do not think illagers constructed these ruins or were the original intended inhabitants, more likely in my opinion the original structures were built by the same species of humanoid as the player, which was later inhabited by illagers, the various buildings repurposed for their cause.
I could see myself placing the heads or skulls of my undead enemies around my cities, similar to wars, I don't see why humans would be placing the heads of their dead in the open
i agree that illagers were there at one point, but i disagree with the idea that they were the original inhabitants, nor do i have any clue about when the skulk could have possibly been introduced to the deep city environment
I have a short theory about what happened after the events of Minecraft legends. So in Minecraft legends when you cure netherack it doesn't turn into grass but instead turns into moss which doesn't exist as far as we know before then. But later on in the same clip where we see the illagers disagreeing with the villagers the allays turn the netherack into dirt and then into grass, so they must have at one point figured out how to cure it better. In my opinion a few years after the defeat of the piglins a large portion of the world was covered in moss and it was spreading. And this could be the time in which the sniffer evolved because their eggs develop twice as fast on moss then it does any other block. Also this could be where the warm Ocean ruin villages could have been made since this is where you find sniffer eggs and the snort pottery sherd. Also there is a fosill in regular Minecraft that looks suspiciously like a giant siffer that can spawn in ether a swamp or dessert biome. And it doesn't take much observation to realise that one of these biomes is non existent in legends. So maybe todays dessert biomes could have been the locations of these moss forrests. But what did cause the moss forests to disappear? Well i'm not actually sure but what is important is that moss is still around its just allot rarer only generating in lush caves and carpeting the roots of mangrove trees. It also happens that the swamp biome can also spawn fossils but probably didn't have the warm ocean ruin villages. This is probably also the time period when the trail ruins were built but not by villagers. At the end of Minecraft legends we don't go back to the regular Minecraft world we stay. So that is most likely when we started our own civilisations along side the villagers and the worriers. Also the presence of armour trims in the trail ruins probably suggests that there was conflict between the ancient builders and the worriers which would explain why they attack you without being provoked in the original game. Anyways that is my short theory on what went on after the events of legends.
I still think that the ancient citys were made by humans; and the illagers visited it later, camped out there, patched the place up abit, then eventually moved on.
Uhhh watch the video? Unless this is a headcanon, you have no proof. But the players probably had the same problem as the warriors, no purpose, nothing to fight, so mayeb they grouped with Warrior Tribes and participated in the same activities. They might've even went into the ancient cities with them, which made the people more open to accepting new species (like the enderlings). The Illagers DID visit it later, but just to see what their ancestors lived in, how to mirror it and maybe even tried to settle back in.
@@HSingingTree considering illagers are known for being adventurers, it would make sense for them to have discovered the ancient cities after they fell to ruin but weren't able to stay for long due to the persistent thread of the sculk
It would and that did happen, but The Ancient Warriors/illagers post-piglin could also be the makers of the ancient cities, because of the reasons Xatrix said in the vidoe@@supercharged5-39
@@supercharged5-39the main proof of the humans building the ancient city is redstone itself. No other faction can use redstone as an energy source other than the humans itself
If sculk wasn't from another separate dimension, I think it was always in the caves as a large superorganism that was only usable by the people in the ancient cities because of the end creatures. Them leaving allowed the sculk to grow freely. I also think the warden was unable to use telepathy because it didn't fit what the sculk was along with how complicated it is. I see the warden as being another organ in the sculk, like a sensor or a shrieker.
i beilev the ancient cities wernent build by the illagers but they may have discoverded them later beacuse we can see so structures being repaired with illager architecture and there were bridges that are destroyed they used dark oak wood, i bealive the cities were build by the builders

Warden theory 1: The illagers got some iron golems to side with them, and interacting with the skulk changed them into wardens. Warden Theory 2: The illagers used skulk on iron golems and it corrupted them, but in doing so caused the wardens to lose their sight.
"What would you have us do? Start farming? Build villages? Become civilized and weak?" *_"You dense little greyskin! YOU WERE BORN IN A VILLAGE AND TOOK UP ARMS TO DEFEND IT!"_* ... The fields laid silent... and in one sentence, our hero inadvertently became a villain of someone else's story...
Theory about the Ancient Cities: The illagers made ancient cities to hide from the wither. The wither found them so they got the evokers to open a portal and summon the warden. The reason the ancient cities look like that is because the battle. The illagers abandoned it because the warden became hostile to them because it’s blind so it thinks they mean harm to it.
I enjoy the theories about the villagers and pillagers but there is a question I have. Who are we? the hero are we the last of are kin? are we related to villagers is some way?
Why has Mojang made so many mentions to the End in recent updates and lore? Why show the Orb of Dominance in Minecraft Legends at all? It's all very strange... Maybe the rumors of a supposed "End Update" aren't so ridiculous after all, eh?
I haven't quite watched the whole video yet, but the Warden could have remnants of a telepathic power in the form of the darkness effect, causing hallucinations in the form of pure, terrifying darkness surrounding the player and encroaching on their very soul
Wassup xatrix can you make a theory video about all the Minecraft ambience of the caves, oceans, netherwastes, crimson and warped forest, soul sand valley, Basalt deltas
New theory: The protagonist of disc 5 is a servant of the nameless one. T think this because why would they be creating withers or attacking illagers. I believe there may have been a war that included withers controlled by the nameless one and the orb of dominance may have been used to stop him. There is evidence of the orb and the nameless one knowing each other when Archie met the nameless one in the book Minecraft dungeons: rise of the arch illager
Very late, but I do have a small theory regarding each dimension: We already know the Nether is based on hell, and the End is loosely based on Heaven (originally), so it'd make sense for whatever created Skulk, whether it be a machine or from another dimension, is based on Purgatory? I mean, Warden is a good name for a monster meant to keep something in purgatory, the jail between life and death.
The Illagers may not have left because of their desire to fight, as implied in Legends' ending, because (as the game title says) it is a legend, a retelling of the story. It was most likely told this way by the villagers to not put fear into other villagers (by saying monsters were friendly when they clearly aren't; or to hide the fact that their ancestors expelled the Illagers like we see in the beginning of Dungeons and in the Rise of the Arch-Illager book). Basically the Legends story could be pro-villager propaganda, since Piglins don't even attack villagers (nor can they live outside the Nether without becoming zombified).
The Illagers WERE a militaristic society, and they had a differing ideology. Its likely the Villagers did house them in the Warrior Huts, but the Illagers either left willingly/were kicked out, since Villagers are quite redeeming for the Villager Warriors in the story, painting them as brave fighters before turning rotten after the war with the Piglins end. As for the Monsters? the Nameless Kingdom back then mightve not been powerful, considering that the Hosts couldve just stopped them. The reasons Villagers were hostile to even friendly Illagers like Archie would probably becuase eventually the Illagers rose from the Ancient Cities and began mass capturing and massacring villages, its only when Archie takes control that the Illagers are truly united against the Villagers, when the war is at its peak. Also Piglins and Villager problem? Considering Legends was ancient, both of them wouldnt even recongize eachother, or it could just be an oversight by Mojang. Afterall, you arent going to be boating through the Nether to some Villager breeder.
This is why I try to tell people that the "Ancient City Portal" should be a TWO-way portal to and from The End instead of some brand new world entirely. Considering how the End Portal material looks like Sculk, it would make sense, right? Also it's about time we made some easier way to get to and from The End after beating the End Dragon. Imagine finding the other side of the portal somewhere far out in the End and activating it. On a totally different note, I need to say that the phantoms you heard in the broken disc was actually the Sculk Shrieker. They don't really sound like Phantoms that much...
Mojang developers confirmed that sculk has no relationship with the end and they retextured scull to distance it from looking similar to the end portal frame
@@Boomblox5896 Kingbdogs confirmed it's not related to the end. They changed the texture to be more blue to differentiate it to the end and the white part of the warden is just bones.
@@tapgames3465 Agh... still. When they said that those big gaping structures were "portals" in the game files, I felt like that would have been a perfect opportunity to expand upon The End and what would have been a great update for the future. Now they gotta contend with some completely unrelated lore and potential dimension that we'll never see and it wouldn't make sense for us to see because we have two extra dimensions that still feel like they need a bit more development going into it. The End is barren as hell and could have used that extra bit of boosted content.
@@Boomblox5896Stupid idea because these "portal frames" Are clearly meant for a ew dimension. Why should the end get 2 portals? Also it's just the end that needs an update and there still room for only 1 dimension because of the bedrock
For those of you who saw this guy's last video, I have another part of ender for you: sculk. If ender was indeed shattered, what became of its other organs besides its eyes and heart? Perhaps whatever killed it wanted it to stay dead, so trapped it underground, and had ancient villagers construct massive complexes (the ancient cities) to keep it from becoming free. Given this logic, the warden is likely a failed attempt at ender trying to make a new body for itself. That would explain its power, as you would expect nothing less from the flesh and bone of a dead god. The reason it has to rely on hearing is because its eyes were intentionally stripped away. You know, the eyes of ender. Oh wait, he basically said this in the video.
I love these people I even tried making a similar lore They were people who came from colder and harsher climates who travelled to villages and they were welcomed And then the piglins attack they then remember their past because they were always worriors. Then 100 years later the arch illager rises and takes over the land and aftet his defeat they and the rest of the overworld form a peace treaty
If we had a way to have illager villages with illagers who are neutral and trade that would be great. Plus illagers like vindicators and pillagers would behave neutral in villages
I believe Disc 5 spells out the doom of the illager empire. The Endermen and Illagers enslaved people of the Nameless Kingdom, and it was a slave revolt. They used the potent magic of necromancy to raise an army of withers to face off the eldritch horrors and angry squidwards.
The ancient portal do seem to be an attempt to reach those three deities. So either illagers never managed to open it, or it accidentally lead to somewhere undesirable...?
But, with the sculk portal having to be using sculk to make it, does this rule out it being made from the other side? Nether portals appear in the nether if made in the overworld, and the overworld if made from the nether, and end portals don't make a dimension reflection at all. Could it be a sort of inbetween, where one portal is made on one side, but simply cannot be made on another? But then it comes to, what made it on the first side...if I'm right at all.
this does give me an idea for a mod a villager to illager convert mod were throught one way or another a village becomes an illager village or something
I still think the Warden came from the Portal, afterall, it isnt hard to imagine the Endersent teleporting to the dimension and creating the portal themselves for the Illagers, similar to the End Portal
This is a bi long but it’s important: Summary, nobody looks at the green lore. So the Minecraft dimensions are all on different sides of the color palate, red, nether, green, overworld, purple, end. End and nether both have a lot of lore and a lot of magical properties, however you would call it, and yet the overworld remains basically untouched. But what if they weren’t. What green power is there? For one thing, a commonly used particle does several things. When you bonemeal a tree, it produces green particles, when you use a composter or feed a baby animal, it also does it, and when a villager finds a job, they sometimes put these particles. So what are they? Life/Progress? What’s a nothing thing that is used for growing up in life and progressing, or as the definition is, EXPERIENCE. Experience orbs are green. They’re used for enchanting and repairing. I don’t know why they’re so overlooked by lore writers, when they’re as involved as everything else. Sculk releases experience, animals deaths do too. Enchanting and disenchanting and repairing take it up, and one enchantment, mending, uses it up for repairing. So I’d like to see what this life force power is, does anyone wield it? There is only one that we’ve seen. The player, which it actually GRAVITATES to and the player stores up and loses. I’d like to see more on this.
Experience is a connection between all things, progression of life, life itself. Animals having babies, completing advancements, deaths by others, smelting, and breaking sculk (proving it is more or less semi alive)
Xatrix did forget something yea it's them the ancient builders one of the many mysteries that made the structures in ancient times of Minecraft the lost civilization lost in time and died from the monstrous creation and turned into slaves and died in flames of the nether and consumed by sculk from an alien and unknown world and consumed from the undead and drowned from deep waters in the ocean consumed from soul sand of the nether where they coexist with the ancient villagers.
i have a personal theory that the end might be an actual living god (as in the entire dimention is basically the body of a god) its is why there are many eyes present and only a single heart
One problem about the ocean ruins, where are Sniffers in Legends? They are not seen anywhere at all. Also, they look like they lived in prehistoric times, not ancient times. Yes, I know it is dubbed as an ancient mob, but it makes more sense for it to be prehistoric.
The mourned pottery shard does not depict a warden like creature. Although it appears that way. I believe that it depicts a person standing over a body with throw head thrown back and their arms in the air. As if yelling "Nooooooooooo!"

Personally I don't see that relationship I mean if it was related to skulk then explain these questions
Why aren't hoglins afraid of skulk you would think they would fear it if it's a variant of the blue warped forests it would fear it all the same
Also why no mushrooms? wouldn't they also grow from skulk that's not even mentioning the biggest flaws to your theory
What's the deal with the warden if it's really from the nether you'd think you would see some in said nether home but you don't especially since the ruined nether portals don't show any signs of the skulk instead all skulk is kept in the lowest part of the earth where most mobs don't dare to venture to
warped forest is end related, sculk is not end related

I don't know what to do with this information. But you know how there's the *heart* of Ender the *eye* of Ender. Well, the *heart* of the sea and it opens To reveal It's also an *eye*
I recently got back into playing both Minecraft and dungeons and I love this type of content, I feel like a lot of the lore is overlooked
A few other things on the ancient cities:
I'm 99% sure that blue on the reinforced deepslate is just shading.
Had just binged your lore videos this morning, surprised and pleased to see a new vid right after! Subbed!

Bro you just took every theory I’ve ever made, torn them up and put them back into places that all make sense, fantastic job :D
i think disc 5 (at least the first part with the endersent) is a record of the Ancient city's inhabitants defending the city against the previous holder of the orb of dominance since we hear endersents that could be keeping wardens at bay. the wither might have been a last resort
Your idea on the sculk is perfect i think. If we ever get a way to open the portal i doubt it would be a sculk dimension
Maybe the wither is a fallen celestial being that wants revenge on the mojang celestial beings for banishing him and is known as the deity/celestial being of undeath so now It makes so much sense that the necromancers and the necromancer kingdom be worshiping the wither
Lore on the illagers. Nice.
In fact, 13:03 and how it elaborates about the Illagers' connection to the Ancient Cities reminds me of the Drow (from DND.)
It's still possible that there may still yet be some Illagers with simpler, more honest souls - as proven by Archie.
41:32 Omg I always thought the portal looked like action specifically but never knew that it was actually the entire wells/host symbol. Which makes a lot more sense than just Action specifically

A GAME THEORY!
Matpat was wrong many times, He was wrong about the Ocean Ruins, he completely forgot Dungeons, and the Wither cant even really move around, even when the target is in a cave and right under the Wither.
I really like your take of the lore, it really fits the Minecraft universe. Dungeon, vanilla and legends!
The Seer is controlled by the Orb of Dominance, who _is_ overarching antagonist of the franchise

Excellent breakdown. Another lore idea for my survival series
At that point, the Enderlings would see the sculk as a threat and decide to avoid it altogether, instead experimenting further with void power and end magic.

yes it hits all the points but then in your point of view , Xatrix who are the Ancient builders and what did they do to have an impact in the present overworld

Your massive theories great magnificent!
I even had my own theory, remember my question: "What if the Orb of Dominance/Heart of Ender is the 4th host?"
My theory:
At the Beginning: Foresight, Action, Knowledge & Dominance used to be friends until for whatever worse happen that Dominance caused (probably dominating people into submitting as slavery). The Hosts made water damage Dominance, trap inside an orb, and banish it to the void; After constructing the Ancient city, I reckon Dominance trying to create a portal to enter the host dimension.
At the End: Dominance never return to their original home.
Could definetly see the warden being the result of an illager being jealous of the villager's iron golem constructs and going to the extremes of using this otherworldly material to create a warden
we know the pillagers explored the underground ruins and camped there sometimes, but i do not think illagers constructed these ruins or were the original intended inhabitants, more likely in my opinion the original structures were built by the same species of humanoid as the player, which was later inhabited by illagers, the various buildings repurposed for their cause.
this is supported by the very much ancients skulls littered throughout the structures.

I love the Illagers, and this theory! I wonder how much of this was decided by Mojang?

Bruh game theory and this guy should do a collab
Xatrix and Matpat should talk about Minecraft lore.
I haven't quite watched the whole video yet, but the Warden could have remnants of a telepathic power in the form of the darkness effect, causing hallucinations in the form of pure, terrifying darkness surrounding the player and encroaching on their very soul
Are the ancient builders at war with the endersents or allied with the endersent
Wassup xatrix
can you make a theory video about all the Minecraft ambience of the caves, oceans, netherwastes, crimson and warped forest, soul sand valley, Basalt deltas
I mean, Warden is a good name for a monster meant to keep something in purgatory, the jail between life and death.
does dungeons take place before or after Minecraft
“Nothing built can last forever” I’ve heard that somewhere else
@@tapgames3465 They still look similar to the End Portal frame. Also when and where did they say that?
Man points out stuff in plain sight
I love these people
I even tried making a similar lore
They were people who came from colder and harsher climates who travelled to villages and they were welcomed
And then the piglins attack they then remember their past because they were always worriors.
Then 100 years later the arch illager rises and takes over the land and aftet his defeat they and the rest of the overworld form a peace treaty
If we had a way to have illager villages with illagers who are neutral and trade that would be great. Plus illagers like vindicators and pillagers would behave neutral in villages
Given their grey pigmentation they must be a different race
I love Minecraft Lore
yaaaaaa i missed these i do love ur other videos but the lore ones i love the most keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe Disc 5 spells out the doom of the illager empire. The Endermen and Illagers enslaved people of the Nameless Kingdom, and it was a slave revolt. They used the potent magic of necromancy to raise an army of withers to face off the eldritch horrors and angry squidwards.
Il corridoio dei portali di minecraft story mode
The ancient portal do seem to be an attempt to reach those three deities.
So either illagers never managed to open it, or it accidentally lead to somewhere undesirable...?
But, with the sculk portal having to be using sculk to make it, does this rule out it being made from the other side? Nether portals appear in the nether if made in the overworld, and the overworld if made from the nether, and end portals don't make a dimension reflection at all. Could it be a sort of inbetween, where one portal is made on one side, but simply cannot be made on another? But then it comes to, what made it on the first side...if I'm right at all.
Outstanding! Love if!
this does give me an idea for a mod a villager to illager convert mod were throught one way or another a village becomes an illager village or something
The Illagers are angry at the Villagers for not fighting along side them to protect their world
I still think the Warden came from the Portal, afterall, it isnt hard to imagine the Endersent teleporting to the dimension and creating the portal themselves for the Illagers, similar to the End Portal
Comparing name hosts in legends and admin in story mode as well as materials used, and the statues in the clip
Animals having babies, completing advancements, deaths by others, smelting, and breaking sculk (proving it is more or less semi alive)
actually the mind warping did make it. the darkness effect is u slowly going insane by force.
Xatrix did forget something yea it's them the ancient builders one of the many mysteries that made the structures in ancient times of Minecraft the lost civilization lost in time and died from the monstrous creation and turned into slaves and died in flames of the nether and consumed by sculk from an alien and unknown world and consumed from the undead and drowned from deep waters in the ocean consumed from soul sand of the nether where they coexist with the ancient villagers.
hope Minecraft adds mobs weapons and bosses from Minecraft legends and Minecraft dudgens
i have a personal theory that the end might be an actual living god (as in the entire dimention is basically the body of a god) its is why there are many eyes present and only a single heart
One problem about the ocean ruins, where are Sniffers in Legends? They are not seen anywhere at all. Also, they look like they lived in prehistoric times, not ancient times. Yes, I know it is dubbed as an ancient mob, but it makes more sense for it to be prehistoric.
Well it a legend after all mabye it existed at the time but was forgoten by villagers ever since
MC:L is semi-canon, as its a story. So its likely details were forgotten, like the Sniffers.
Wonder if Minecraft will add ended giant
The mourned pottery shard does not depict a warden like creature. Although it appears that way. I believe that it depicts a person standing over a body with throw head thrown back and their arms in the air. As if yelling "Nooooooooooo!"
