Delta Air Lines FIRST CLASS Review! Airbus A320 Salt Lake City to San Diego

- In November 2018, I flew with Delta Air Lines in their First Class from Calgary to San Diego. This is the third and final leg of this unnecessarily convoluted routing, from Salt Lake City, Utah, to San Diego, California, on board Delta's Airbus A320!
I realize this video's fairly old as far as trip reports go, and since it's pretty clear that you all like to see Canadian content a bit more, I'd put off making it until now. Delta hasn't really changed their Domestic First product since then, so I think this experience still holds up today.
Special thank you to Sean Currie for letting me borrow his GoPro for this trip. (I hadn't bought my Hero 7 yet, that's how long ago this was, lol)
Hope y'all enjoy :)

Ah, November in Utah. When everything is a beautiful shade of dead.
Why do I find this so funny?
I'm from Cali, an March in north an South Carolina is just about the most depressing place ever just dead woods
Man you need a lot more attention content like this deserves more viewers and subs (I have no idea how you have 7 million total views but only 25k subs your awesome man) : coming from a fellow Canadian
I love their First Class Cabin. Flew on the 319 out of FSD and MSP and back.
Awesome review Alex! Delta and their Airbus aircraft are incredibly awesome.
SAN is my favourite airport to fly into, and I also love San Diego.
Another quality tripreport keep it up!
Very informative video. Exactly what I was looking for!
Excellent review! Thanks for sharing!
When you realize that a seemingly modern plane is really old 0:32 You don’t like WestJet(the only airline that operates that route) maybe...
alot of the 737s you will fly on are from the late 90s.. 97 was a huge production year for boeing.
My guess is that those were northwest’s
Nvrm just checked and she was owned by northwest before the merger
Another great one Alex, thanks for posting....When you going to do some private jet videos? :)
Went on a vacation and started in SLC, seeing the terminal again makes me miss flying
My uncle is actually a pilot for delta. Also I love the a320
CEO sound
Stunning video man!
I always take full advantage of the pseudo storage space!
I was surprised about the food. Even AC has a food service for the short YEG/YYC-YVR jump
Wonderful trip report! I’ve always found it odd that SLC is a hub for Delta.
I'm glad I found your report. I was wondering about leg room. If it wasn't too bad for you, then being I'm only 6 foot 2, it shouldn't be a problem for a short guy like me. :-)
very good as always can you upload the full approach and landing?
Nice review Alex BTW I'm coming to Edmonton on the 12th to go to a show about trains I'm flying through Calgary Delores
great video thanks for sharing
great report video
What was the fare like? When going to the US from YYC I find that it's always way cheaper to fly in first class on UA or AA.
Thanks for this very interesting trip report! I did not realize how bad the meal service is in First Class!
he said,it is only on flights under 2 hours
@@planesense7390 Sure. But it's first class! You get cookies even for less than one hour with Lufthansa and a sandwich under 2.5 hours - in Economy!
Not to speak of real good airlines like TK.
San Diego! I hope you had a nice stay in my hometown!
San Diego is a gorgeous city to fly into.
Glad my GoPro was put to good use!
Great vid yet again Alex! Not a fan of SLC airport. Love the desert Southwest
Cool trip report. 👍
I've only ever got to fly on Delta's old MD 88s and 90s
Alex will do an Alaskan Airlines trip report and maybe a southwest one too???
Been watching yiur channel for a while and I stumbled on this one. You're 6'8"? holy cow
I love Delta, I hope they buy the 797 I'm really looking forward to that
Mark Owen They are not buying any new Boeing planes. Did you notice they never ordered the 737 MAX and 787? Older 767s are being replaced with A330neos, and the A321neo replacing some older 757s. It’s safe to assume their 777s would be replaced with the A350.
@@QuarioQuario54321 For the moment they aren't, correct. But the Delta CEO and the major U.S. airlines(United) have expressed interest in the 797. And they didn't order the MAX, but Delta went with 130 -900ERs. They'll be ordering Boeing in the near future. The A321s are mainly for the retirement of MD88 and 757s. But as the 76 and 75s head out within the next 5 years, the 797 will be a perfect replacement, as Delta has kept onto the 75s for many years, even the Delta CEO stated it's one of his favorites.
Am super high, so I might sound high when I say "That descent was so satisfying to watch."
Maybe you can schedule yourself a trip through SLC sometime after September 2020. That is when the new terminal and half of the new concourses are set to open. Then the old gates of E, D & C concourses and Terminals 1 and 2 will be knocked down and then the rest of the concourses will be completed. Full rebuild set to be completed 2024 (SLC my hometown airport)
Delta takes good care of older planes. Just went in a 767-300er from London to Detroit last year. Not one sign of age
Jay Deshpande old plane insurance
Delta does actually serve meals to Comfort class on 2hr + flights, but it's a very cheap price. And cross country flights sometimes give everyone meals, and over seas flights give all classes free meals. Delta's the best.
Nice vid! Are you a pilot? Your tail number and runway references are by the book.
I am really enjoying your reports and I agree with you, why take one flight when you can take 3....I love to fly so I would enjoy the scenery, airports, and overall inflight service but my drink of choice would be a scotch and water. I feel you should get a meal when flying First Class no matter how long the flight. I have seen airlines serve meals on flights under an hour so it can be done and for the price you are paying, you should really get a meal....thanks for your report.
November Whiskey means it was a Northwest Airlines aircraft originally.
Air Canada Jetz next 😉
Delta has the best customer service and passenger experience among all US airlines
disgusting Service on that flight no champagne
I love you Alex!
Gotta love unnecessary routings...seems like something I would do (especially in first). 320 is a bit loud on takeoff though...even from first class!
Alex can we agree as Canadians we almost expect the French and English announcements and get a little thrown off when we don’t get them
thrown off but happy not to hear french (ever)
Normal people : Nonstop
Me : 28 Hours Later, We Are Here
I'm 6'7 and afraid to fly anything except delta first class cause i need the legroom. how do you fare in economy and comfort +
I relate! Comfort+ is manageable, but economy is a hard no for me on Delta.
I went to san Diego in November of 2018...
How many people on this flight asked if you play basketball?
lol
Delta tinha que fazer conexões aqui em Cuiabá aeroporto marechal Rondon internacional Brasil também e LATAM airlines
9:11 perfect 72 N1! (3600rpm)
Alex, Delta (to set itself apart from its US rivals) should've served a savory sandwich, soup/salad, and premium drinks, at least, instead of the junk snacks offered in this sector. Ninety minutes was more than sufficient time for the cabin crew to provide a more value-packed premium experience. Thumbs down to Delta, thumbs up to A lex for the excellent video.
you are so so true that shown inflight Service is just so pathetic….no luxury for me to perceive
Airport’75 ... they used most of the shots over Utah.
This Passes for first class in America?
It’s because it’s domestic. If it was international they would have lie flat seats with caviar.
It's Calgary, Alberta, Canada... not Calgary Canada
FAR TO MANY ADDS
Fly fast, smoke grass, first class
Did he say 26 year old A220?? Lol sounded like he did
you call this first class? by international standards this is an outdated business class. US carriers are below par.
Saad Saud It’s a domestic, 2-hr flight... not much different from, say, Paris to Zurich
Your 6 foot 8 we don’t care!!!
just a picture with your seat, bleh
Why is Delta so far ahead of shitty United and American??
Flimsy seats & interior design for first class. Yuck 🤢
Delta shouldn’t fly Airbus
