My longest flight on Delta was from Minneapolis to Incheon, taking over 13 hours. That, I must say, is still my best economy class experience with a US carrier.
@@jennyliebenberg9806 it's something one never gets used to. I'm looking forward to September to finally see Latam's A350 from Sao Paulo to Johannesburg
In a previous era, I tried several times to fly to the US and Caribbean from Cpt via JNB on the JNB-ATL service. The flight was always over $1800, about 50% more than SAA's JFK flight and the Delta website would always only ever offer me flights via Amsterdam. At least now with direct flights to my home city, Cpt, the direct Atlanta flight is appealing again.
I flew alot with Delta airlines during my basic training in the army 48 yrs ago. The longest fight for me was Frankfurt Germany to Atlanta on board an L1011-500 March 21, 1981 from permanant station in Germany. I flew from atlanta to Philidelphia where I did basic at fort Dix N.J. L1011-1 atl philly philly atl. atl philly then mack flight from mcquire to Germany on stretch dc 8 Capitol airways.
Being a loyal DL flyer, I flew DL LAX->SYD on their B777-200LR on a round the world itinerary, which included on the same itinerary JHB->ATL on B777-200LR. Sitting up front, both flights were marvelous and comfortable. I always enjoyed DL’s B777 flights! And not to mention the few times on JFK-NRT on their B744! They were a class act amongst US carriers pre-COVID!
It is not how long the flight is, it is how lucky you are, being on plane with a non stop crying child or a loud snoring person behind you on a overnight flight and also someone removing there shoes that smell like it was not washed for weeks. That will make a flight too long. Being on flight that is so enjoyable that make it feel too short (we are landing already, after 15 hours)
Flew DTW to HND and the reverse back in December and January, a little over 12 hours there, and a little under 12 on the way back. The flight back, however, was delayed because of the multi hour grounding of all flights within, into and out of the US. Luckily, my layover in DTW was 7 hours to begin with, so it didn't impact me as much as other passengers, but it made the day a lot more... interesting.
@brettcooke182 it was definitely those times, the routing we took though was up over Canada and Alaska then south skirting Russian airspace before approaching HND
My longest flight on Delta airlines was on Delta 200/201 Atlanta to Johannesburg and flew on their 777-200LR flew that route from 2011 to 2016 to bad Delta retired those aircrafts.
B772 slightly shorter wingspan and tail height and different engine type B77L has a 64.8m wing, taller tail and 115B series engines Also the B77L is available in the cargo variant
The LR has raked wingtips, the ER does not, the problem is that the standard -200s exist, so it's more difficult to tell the -200 from its ER counterpart than the 200ER from the 200LR. That said the LR is also fairly rare compared to the 200ER.
There are far more Philippines flying to the US than Americans flying to the Philippines. In such cases were the language is different many people would take their home country airline
@@TheTubadMoosethe -800 could fly their longest route having a range of 15,090 km while also providing flexibility for medium range flights if needed. It could replace their 767’s easily.

I olso see it every day as I live in johannesburg as well at 17:00

The 777 fleet was 10 777-200LR and 8 777-200ER.
2:55 look at that. That is why I love the a350. Such a beautiful aircraft
Awesome video ❤❤❤... Congratulations on your parent channel 5th year anniversary 🎉🎉..Way to go
Delta will have direct service to Auckland, New Zealand from Lax with no stops starting October 28th.

How are they after covid?
@@levaughn9742 it was back in 2014. I flew up front. On Miles Reward Program. It was marvelous.
Does anyone know the song that starts playing at roughly 5:40?
Going to do Delta ATL- CPT in November . Both around 16 hrs. Should be interesting

Love me some Delta!
How comfortable and spacious are the seats and legroom for such long flights in economy class?
Flown once from Shanghai to Detroit. Such a good memory with the queen B744. So sad that Delta retires all of them even though A350 is great as well.
in 2014 I flew a Delta 777-200LR from Dubai to Atlanta. Because of 200mph+ head winds, the time in the air was 17:30...
ATL to JNB on their Triple 7 in 2017! Great flight! Didn’t seem as long as it was!
A couple of Delta's 777-200LR's are now repainted and operated by Air India
What’s the length of SWA longest flights?

I thought that ATL-HND would be longer than the DTW-PVG one. Guess I’m wrong.
Now you can add Auckland NZ to that list as well.
MSP TO LHR is a crazy one tbh
My longest flight was Philippine Airlines A350 from Manila to NYC.
need the singapore airline version of this
They wrote the article for SQ’s one recently on their site. I’d assume they’d be making a video about it too.

Don't understand why no us carriers fly to the Philippines
Delta used to fly DTW-NGO-MNL until sometime in the mid 2010s. Also United currently flies GUM-MNL iirc
There are far more Philippines flying to the US than Americans flying to the Philippines. In such cases were the language is different many people would take their home country airline
I used to see Delta every night at Antipolo flying over it.
(DL ended service in 2019)
2nd 6th like congrats on your parent channels 5 year anniversary 🎉🎉🎉
Are Delta not getting hassle from Boeing and USA Government
My longest, JHB to ATL
380 please
Delta don't operate the A380...
Not too many small plans iwant bigger plans please get bigger plan please
I hope delta get a350-1000s and a330-800s

The -900 has the range of the -200 with the capacity of the -300.

Delta is the only us carrier that supports Airbus with their widebodies. american and united are biased!
American had wide body Airbus jets pre pandemic
United have the A350 on order and AA previously operated A330s from US Airways.
Maybe is Chicago to Abu Dhabi on Etihad.

Delta has crappy plane. Why don't they buy 777-9 ?
They don't need the capacity and they are moving away from Boeing for their widebody needs.
