- Join us for the VERY LAST public showing of Poseidon's Fury at Universal's Islands of Adventure! There was one more showing after this, but you needed to have a blue wristband to see it; therefor making this the last show that was open to the general public!
Poseidon's Fury was an opening day Islands of Adventure attraction. It was a very unique special effects walkthrough show, led by a live actor. This was the last remaining special effects show at Universal Orlando Resort, after Twister and Disaster closed.

I went for the first and only time last October!! I have seen videos and stuff of it before but they don’t do it justice! I hope that whatever replaces it it will be just as epic as Poseidon’s Fury!

Honestly unconfirmed but one theory is a Zelda area. But that's from other random sources.
My only two guesses would be either something related to Lord of The Rings or The Legend of Zelda, with Zelda being by far the most likely. The Legend of Zelda has had official patents and concept art going around for a good few years now, with suggestions that an attraction should replace something in the Lost Continent. Now, six days after the release of Illumination's Mario Bros. movie, which has become the best-selling movie of 2023, Universal suddenly announces that Poseidon's fury will be closing as the last attraction in the Lost Continent. It seems to me like they've got a plan for an entire retheming of the area.
At least my sister's and I saw it in March. Gonna miss it.
I loved this walkthrough I loved how interactive it was and immersive I'm sad to see my age now and watch it go, just as upset as when jaws left :,( and no offense cause I love the fast and furious franchise BUT! what a shit ride that is.
The Lost Continent is already a shell of its former self. Hopefully, the area turns into Zelda in the future! Better way to spread Nintendo IPs in various parks.
It was closed the last two times we went unfortunately. It was a favorite for my husband and I. We are very sad.
This was my favorite Islands of Adventure attraction ever since I was a child. So sad to see it go.

Technically it's not the last one with special effects. Harry Potter escape from Gringotts also has special effects.
Thank you for filming 😭 I went on the Friday before the 9th and they told me 5:30 was the last show and I got back there at 4:45 and they had already shut it down and put it the last group I was so disappointed 😭
you didn't miss much. The water tunnel is the best part. Cheesy acting and dated effects made it my least favorite part of universal
