- We got a preview of the Jurassic World-themed VelociCoaster roller coaster which opens to the public this week at Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park in Orlando Florida. We also got to check out the new raptors that have been added to the Raptor Encounter and eat some of the new Jurassic World food being added to Universal Studios Florida’s offerings.

I was scared for those glasses the entire time.
I learned a long tome ago after literally losing my glasses on a rollercoaster to take them off. Also people with hearing aids of any kind, keep them in tour bag while riding.
@@gabrielleduplessis7388 yeah but it kinda ruins the experience as you can’t really see without them, best thing to do is either get a strap on it or just take them off
I rode this for the first time yesterday and at the top hat my glasses came off my face and I had to catch them before they went too far, we were going so fast it came off the glasses strap 😂

No but it for real i went in August and i was in my seat for probably 1/3 of the ride the rest of it i was out of my seat in the air that shit is scary

It's like skydiving. It's scary, but it makes you feel alive. Some rides honestly scare the shit out of you and that's a really exciting feeling when you process it, and you ultimately know you're safe.

That was my exact same response LOL! I gave off so many "oh shit"s and "oh fuck"s and "OH MY GOD"s! More than ANY other coaster I've ever been on! I was screaming my lungs out and frankly she at least noticed the raptors while on the ride, I didn't even see them cause I was too busy screaming for my life lol. But after I got off the ride I said it was an amazing ride and that I enjoyed myself despite all the screaming and cussing. XD

What I find amazing about this ride is that it has SO much track, almost a miles worth, and yet the ride time is only slightly more than a minute (67 seconds)-THIS RIDE IS JUST RELENTLESSLY AND CONSISTENTLY FAST! It STARTS FAST AND STAYS FAST THROUGHOUT!

Yeah intamin is my favorite manufacturer because they waste no space on any of their layouts! They really know how to make a coaster peak from start to finish.

4:15 When Dr Wu said "state of the art safety protocols" I had to laugh. If there is one fictional group in cinema, that I don't trust with safety protocols its Jurrasic park/world.
I'm not a big fan of the movies but the fact that they got the cast to film scenes just for this coaster is just so cool. There aren't a lot of well themed coasters here in the states but this is just done so well, this may be the best themed coaster in the US and at least top 3 in the world.

I was so scared of this roller coaster today, was my first time going on it and I was researching every ride. I’m not a roller coaster guy and my favorite rollercoaster is Manta from Seaworld. I’ve been on the Mako and I regretted it and hid the whole time. I was looking up videos the whole time while we were waiting in line and man was it so god damn long. 2 people passed out while we were waiting. I was so nervous and felt constipated and felt like I wanted to leave. But my cousin forcing me to go was the best thing that could ever happened. First time at Universal and this is my favorite ride over the Manta now. I had some lady tell me don’t be scared when I was about to get on and she was getting off, thanks lady. It was so god damn fast but I’ve been training myself and my technique to you guys who are scared is to force yourself to open your eyes the whole time and have your hands up. That’s what I did for the hulk and this ride and I had so much fun. I’m scared of drops and these seats scare me because I didn’t feel protected in them when I was watching the video. I can tell you that the seats are so god damn safe. I hope those who are scared will ride it, because I was watching the roller coaster POV while in line and seeing other people experience so I didn’t have to get scared myself or at least knew how it went and boy trust me, I was scared and didn’t really want go on it. I thought during the ride, the 110 foot drop would make me the scariest and the acceleration launchers from 0-50 and 0-70 would kill me but I was wrong. I had my eyes open the whole time thanks to holding my arms up. For those who are scared like me, I wouldn’t miss out on this ride even if you have to wait 2 hours out in the hot heat. My first time at Universal and they are just on another level compared to Disney. If you read all this you are awesome and good luck on when you go on the ride. I forgot to mention that I kept myself busy by trying to control my breathing and mental and look at other stuff while the line moved and had my cousin motivate me. This is now my favorite Roller coaster and It’s way better than the Hulk and I think the Hulk launch scares me more.
How does the drop on this feel on the stomach? That is mostly what I'm afraid of, I hate the feeling in my stomach.

Yeah i am terrified of roller coasters and hate how drops feel. My best advice is to let the coaster take you as hard as that may sound especially if your in line right now you’re prob not feeling great. Trust me and don’t try to control the coaster and let yourself loose and don’t restrain yourself/hold back. Highly recommend keeping your eyes open it changes the game and adds a comedic and “ooh shit here we go” aspect to it. Scream and laugh all you want and make the most out of it. You got this and have fun you legend 😎 Drops in roller coasters are always going to feel like what they do, drop you. But if you’re like me and hate them, it’ll be over before you know it. That’s the best time to scream/yell, definitely go with someone you know will make the experience fun it’s a game changer
@@kaylapagan5597 I felt nothing, and I was able to enjoy the ride fully without closing my eyes on the drop nor during any time. All because I had my hands up which is a technique I use and it worked out. I can't stress how much I love this roller coaster now and It's my favorite. Sorry for the late reply.
@@lewis1834 That was my mindset while I was in line. I was thinking about not going on it, but because my cousin waited out in the hot sun for me in line. I had to go. I was really scared, but I was doing some research before going, and this worked for me. 1. It's not the end of the world. 2. The roller coasters are safe as hell. 3. What's the point of going on a amusement park if you are not gonna ride the big fun rides. I'm no longer scared of roller coaster expect the Mako which is 200 ft and lifts me out of my chair during that drop.

They spared no expense. I don’t do roller coasters anymore but I will get on that ride for that experience in the beginning.
Having finally ridden this coaster, I cannot give you two enough props for riding it and not being coaster people. That was intense!

Learned my lesson first time around it was so uncomfortable going on the rides with glasses. I always bring contacts with me when I go to the parks.

I am someone who is not a huge fan of that intense stomach drop feeling. If you are the same way, let me assure you, this ride does not give you that feeling. It is just pure fun from start to finish! I would say the most intense "feeling" happens with the second launch, but it is not that "bad." For comparison, the stomach drop feeling is MUCH more intense on the Rip Ride Rock-It drop. I was terrified to ride this for the first time, but I am SO glad I didn't chicken out! Do NOT be too scared to go on Velocicoaster! It is SO much fun!!

Oh my god this is an amazing video! The footage on the rollercoaster was brilliant and me and my boyfriend both were like WOAH when you went over the huge air part. I had a full blown panic attack on this. Came off drenched in sweat haha. I HATE roller coasters but I love my girlfriend and she wanted to ride it.

No it was universal’s camera, a really expensive red camera on a rig they constructed. They don’t allow any filming on the ride otherwise so we couldn’t bring the 360

Wow. That really DOES look intense... but fun! It's funny, as I've gotten older I've gotta a lot more timid of coasters. Used to LOVE them but... 😖 I blame it on the change from over the chest restraints to the lap ones. As a lady it's nice to have a bit more breathing room 🤣 but without them it just feels far more intense. LOL.
It’s more fun with just lap bars honestly! Over the shoulder restraints can be annoying and can bang your head around on certain roller coasters.
This is a theme park channel. No whining or caring for hours on anxiety. They should take up a knitting channel. You guys don’t talk politics. But best if all, you bit the darn bullet, and ride this ride. OA for the YT win. We live for you guys.
