He’s got a new exhaust system that’s why it sounds so good, the exhaust system of his car is not stock the sound is tuned

Still have the R8 its such nice looking motor and people love it. Sorry but the Mclaren looks like a kit car. Everyday to live with it has to be the R8V10 plus and is 50k less than the McLaren . A couple of tweaks like a remap maybe and that V10 will push out over 700hp very likely besting the Mclaren. Get rid of the wrap put the new performance parts form Audi sport and get serious you'd still have plenty of cash over and a better looking car than the 570

sure you can always tune a car. but for a comparison the cars should be from stock
No it won't, it's a plus, I've got one. You can squeeze out another 10 to 15 brake with a map and exhaust. 570s can go to 670 with a map, 750 with new turbos.
I think it's great that you actually drive that R8. As for the 570, it has better aero. Does it also have more forward gears?

good race, id give the advantage to the turbos and light weight. Twin turbos on the V10 tho and it'll be a whole different story
For normal streets is a R8 enough. Love Audi
R8 was handed the 1st race as 570s lifted off at 3:03. A bit dishonest.
And the R8 short shifted 1st and 2nd so that he won't gap the McLaren a lot...
And what happened when the r8 got the better launch? Still got gapped.

3DFX it’s actually the McLaren p1 because its 10th fastest in the wold and Audi R8 is 15th
And you can daily the 570s's "Mature" brother, the 570GT.
Audi interior isn't as good as McLaren and the 570S is an amazing daily commuter.

Archie, I noticed you're shifting the paddle gears manually. You shouldn't need to do that, in launch control it shifts gears (optimally + automatically) for you. In fact, if you're in Sport/Performance mode you'd beat the Mclaren using Launch Control (even with it having warm tires)
Omar Qureshi true for drag auto would faster than manually shifting gear. Too slow for our finger to shift from 1-2. Computer would have done it precisely and faster
on full chat the R8 sounds MENTAL!!

The lauch isnt one car length its two.There is the whole length of the Mc laren plus a car length s space between them so thats two car lengths.

McLaren's aero is unreal. You need 300+ more hp than the McLaren to make up for its aero advantage.

They are both made for different reasons. R8 being a daily drivable car, while the McLaren is a pure track weapon. Audi responded with a facelift adding 10 horsepower and 20 torque for the 2020 model. I think that one would beat the 570s. But NEVER the 720s hahap

i think mclaren are made to be fast and their f1 experience over the years has given them edge on this. its only they are new in producing cars they havent managed to base their market very well but soon they will address each segment very well and cant wait. only smiling front of 570 i dont like but we can live with that. it should look angry and menacing to road users.

R8 is simply perfect i love it
Not exactly a surprise given that the McLaren is over 100kg lighter. More torque and better power to weight ratio is quite the advantage regardless of how much in the way of technical trickery, AWD and launch control you might have. That's why the McLaren will inevitably HAVE TO catch up even in spite of losing in the initial off the line acceleration. The McLarens are also far more underrated than most of their competitors. Give the Audi more power and torque to match its weight and it'll retain the edge.
The 570s may of beat you but your car sounds absolutely insane!

570 stands for 570 metric horsepower, buts its not true, its more like 590-600 when tested.
(Better torque, lower weight and better aero will of course make it faster than a R8/Huracan)
But is it faster than MP4-12c ? Or even a 650S ?

Christian Williams i don't say it is hard but your not focused 100%, and he constantly has to look to the right, that is not proper way to drag race, but ok, this is made casually for the views, not to make it best as it can be ;)
Also you by dictating the launch will always hold the advantage. Needs to be someone on the outside or a set of lights. Not you Archie.

Two things -
1. I’d wager that Audi is on the stock poop tires.
2. The 570s makes more TQ than the audi and has better “area under the curve” than the audi.
Also weight played a big role.

As an R8 owner with plenty of friends with McLarens - the McLaren will win over a long distance. But how often does anyone really do that? On fast twisty roads the R8 wins every time with instant low down power and grip. The McLarens lack grip out of corners and suffer lag. On real roads the everyday driver is faster in the R8.

nuni dayan what you talking about? I was fairly clear. As someone who has driven both and owns an R8 and does Euro tours on a regular basis - the R8 is quicker on fast twisty roads. Let me know if you need me to spell it out any further.
