You are not suppose to submerge a week old puppy.. They are still developing their ability to maintain their temp.. You can wipe them down with a warm damp washcloth untill they are 4 weeks.. Then you can bath them. .

Sentinel is a monthly chewable oral medication given with food and is effective in preventing heartworm and preventing and controlling fleas. It also prevents or eliminates hookworm, roundworm, tapeworm, and whipworm to name a few, though it should not be given to a dog under 4 weeks of age, however you can give this to mom to prevent flees and various other things from invading and having a chance at her puppies.

I know I'm replying to an old comment but it might be able to help someone in the future You can't wash puppies until they're 4 weeks old because they're unable to regulate their body temperatures. You can take a damp cloth to them but make sure you dry them off and put them under their heat lamp The mother may become disinterested in feeding her Pups around week 3 because this is when the puppies start to get their teeth which they don't know how to use and can hurt mama. Continue to weigh puppies with a food scale to make sure they don't drastically drop weight. You can feed the puppies with A milk supplement for dogs (NOT cow milk) or you can milk your pregnant mama and feed the pups this way if they are starting to lose too much weight. Hope this helps someone :)

I’m sorry but I don’t know about This video you guys need to be careful do not completely soak a newborn puppy they can’t regulate their own body temperatures it’s best to have mom clean them up if mom can’t clean them just spot clean them until they are a bit older with a cotton ball and warm water NO SOAP! I made the mistake to use soap with our first litter 10 years ago and their skin got so dried out I felt horrible and when they do get old enough please only use baby shampoo never puppy or dog shampoo

i had that problem too, so i bought frontline plus pipette and applied it on the mother and the fleas were gone from both mother and puppies
