GTA San Andreas: The Definitive Edition may have better graphics than the original but there are some game mechanics that are simply better in the original & there are also fewer bugs. Short answer: Because GTA San Andreas 2004 is made with _love_ by people that even if they wanted to win money, they mainly wanted to make a good game and overcome what Vice City was. There's nothing in the "Definitive Edition" made for the love of videogames or wanting to overcome previosly released titles.
Yeah mobile version was out just for freetime, or when youre outside or when your PC's dont have charge or broken

You really don't need the DE when we have mods like wesser widescreen fix, skygfx, increased draw distance mods, improved texture mods, etc.

beside we have vehicle mod i just download orginal mod then we just ưant improve the game we want .

eh, the de graphics are shit and inconsistent. the original has consistent graphics. and de doesn't have that great of a graphics either.

Definitive Edition is perfect example of laziness in video game industry. Rockstar did a huge mistake, when they hired some mobile developers to remaster their best games in two years.

Rockstar didn’t make a mistake of hiring GS games, RS knew about their experience, Rockstar decided to use a worse version for the games base, and Rockstar didn’t make sure the game was tested properly before release. The real evil is Rockstar-they care more for quick easy cash than remastering one of the best games with proper care and effort. This really shows how Rockstar changed over the years from people who love games and who wanted to create fun games into a corporate that just wants money! R.I.P. the former phenomenal developer Rockstar!
Imagine if Rockstar set a competition for modders to make an enhance gameplay and winner game will publish and that modder get prize that would be perfect Rockstar just ruin this OG games
NGL that would've been a good idea. They could've pulled a Scott Cawthon move and made the community have fate in Rockstar again. But they blew it
Unfortunately not possible, the modders could violate copyright etc. and get Rockstar into legal trouble. Rockstar will only trust and sell what they created.

I'm up for remakes for older games if the idea is good, but in my oppinion remasters feel weird most of the time. They usually fail to reproduce the original style, and I think the game should be let as it is, as it represents the vision it was created by back then. So update old games for newer systems? I'm in! Remaster them? Nope, doesn't feel right for me, it just makes me wanna go back and play the original
Yeah with how some remasters have been handled these past few years, I wish we would just get enhanced ports instead that support higher resolution and framerate... and proper widescreen if it didn't before.
Destroy All Humans and Stubbs The Zombie are examples to follow on how to properly port 20 year old games for modern hardware while keeping the atmosphere and everything that made them fun.

I feel a simple rework of the PC port would have done just fine... Simple upscaling to the textures and internal resolution, a revised 60/120Hz patch, light Multiplayer support and even a few "Re-Releases Edition" additions... I'd much rather have that and I feel that would have been plenty justice. It would have sold much better...

My guess for the water is that the physics are of the original San Andreas but they replaced the water with UE4 water and now the water you see doesn't match up with the water physics.
What's unfortunate the most about the Wasted and Busted screens is they don't have the classis San Andreas font anymore.

Thanks for posting this in 2022, now we're sure this won't be patched. That's such a shame, it's hard to still have some respect for Rockstar these days.
Looks like Rockstar wanted us to say "wow, old games sucked! Let's buy RDR2 or spend endless money on GTA Online!" They didn't car at all that's sad.

I love this comparison, I still have the original game on PS4, not the remastered version, but the version that was released 6 years ago with many other PS2 games. You should do a similar video with GTA IV VS GTA V, I miss Nico Belik
But we need to mention a fact, that GTA The Trilogy Definitive Edition wasn't developed by Rockstar, but by Grove Street Games.

Well Rockstar choose to let GSG make the game. In my opinion they are also responsible for delivering such a wack product. They didn't even bother to test the games before releasing them.
You can always mod the graphics by yourself in the original, albeit you have to mix n match it yourself thus takes a very long time. But if you patience enough you'll have a much better "definitive edition" than what R* selling you.

When it comes to gta san andreas, Betaz never disappoint us.
A lot of bugs and glitches in the "definitive" edition of san andreas were originally from the "remastered" version. Aka the ones used for the PS3, mobile and Xbox something(I forgot which one), maybe more. Grove Street Games most likely used the "Remastered" version of gta san andreas as a starting point since they published the remastered version too. HOPEFULLY Grove Street Games starts getting better at making "games" and actually make the game better than the original and also bring things back from the original san andreas
NO! Grove St Games dissed the set! And disrespected GSF TDF & SBF Sets. They need to change their name or quit making games altogether. Rockstar Games is a shell of its former self and should be ashamed of what they done to their legacy
Funny enough, the Mobile version is the best way to play the game. It's the least broken version of GTA:SA. I have it on Google Play and Apple and can confirm, everything works as it should or better than the PS2 version with a game pad 🤷

Original is not only better in details . Graphics in san andras trilogy is like cartoons , so why the hell naughty dog release a remake for TLOU and rockstar release a remastered for gta trilogy ? 🤔 this game needs a remake . Original gta sa has an old graphic but is not like cartoon , it feels more realistic . OLD IS GOLD

in mobile version of gta san andreas, rockstar games completely removed the store photo feature in mobile which makes camera useless. many features we're remove in gta sa mobile😤

I would like to add that you can only move the camera vertically and horizontally when flying in the trilogy whereas in the originals(San Andreas), you can move the camera wherever you want. Another downgrade I encountered was the aiming and camera. Don't get me wrong, being able to move the camera and free aim is a big improvement for 3 and Vice City however the original San Andreas already had this function and when it was redone, it became even worse. For example, you can free aim but it'll automatically lock on to another npc whereas in the original you can break the lock on to keep free aiming so this is kinda annoying. Also, idk why they removed the health bars in San Andreas it was perfect. Lastly, they even removed the ability to shoot with L1 which is a bummer because using circle(i use the old control scheme) forces me to play claw which is awkward.

In vice city definitive edition any thing I crash into such as lamp posts don’t just sink into the ground even after the latest update but in san andreas and gta 3 it still sinks into the ground

if y'all want to play a definitive edition for GTA 3 and vice city, play og Xbox ports, they are the best version of those two games graphically and have no bugs. for San Andreas PS2 is the best one, or the PS4 PS2 classic is also really good

I thought the Xbox port had a lot of glitches because it is the old remastered version. The only safe versions are the OG PC Disc version and the PS2 version played on a PS2

@@DARK_AMBIGUOUS the xbox 360 port did have a lot of bugs, the xbox original ports are *not at all* bugged or glitched, they are actually better than even the pc ports. It is the ps2 versions of the game with better graphics and some pc elements mixed in but no bugs at all.
@@djpunyer8762 Well The Warriors didn't get a definitive edition. If you own the PS2 classic version you can still play it, but pretty sure they made it unavailable to purchase. I can't find it in the PS Store anymore anyway, just the Definitive Edition.

So in the Definitive Edition we got:

The San Andreas story was dog shit
I think the plane/boat suddenly turned back is a nice feature, back in PS2 I accidentally left my Hydra after went too far
It's not a nice feature, not to mention you were flying a hydra back then, it was the fastest aircraft in the entire game, you could always just fly back no matter how long it takes. In my opinion, they shouldn't have removed the feature to fly infinitely.

@@korana6308 вообще у меня вопрос не столько к самому размытию, сколько к тому, как оно паршиво сделано именно в классической ГТА СА. Мало того, что сильно бросается в глаза, оно ещё постоянно в точности следует не направлению движения игрока, а направлению камеры, что выглядит очень странно, если эту камеру куда-то в сторону повернуть. В ГТА 3, напротив, размытие смотрится довольно сносно, хотя, казалось бы, игра постарше будет. А вот в Дефинитиве, при всех его недостатках, по крайней мере когда я играл на ПК, мне такой эффект даже понравился, просто он работает как должен и не такой «навязчивый» для глаз, что ли.
This is such a nit-picky list of minor things it's not even worth bitching about. Hiding the hud? Been playing games since 1986 and never once have I opted to hide the hud. My guess is 99.8% of other gamers won't hide the hud either. None of the issues described here are worth losing any sleep over

The most common thing I see being removed from these games after updates or remakes are music and stations from the car radio. I'm not sure if it applies to SA. Can you not just mod the original to improve the graphics? That way you'll get something more up to date with everything from the original you wish to keep

map boundrys is the best - in orginal one do you know have many people stay a wake for days and playing ti just get of the map ? there was rumor's if you go for 5 days to going to a island vice city
When you would take over a hood in the original they would come in cars and drive by, but in the remade versions that just glitched out . Original version was way better
And Rockstar calls this the definitive edition. They got rid of the definitive edition when this trash rolled on to digital storefronts and shelves. They need to bring the original back, but they won't. Rockstar will be Rockstar

Mobile version is as good as the original. It has slightly better graphics and, more importantly, checkpoint system, which helps in hard missions. Also plane controls are much better in the mobile version.
Fun Fact- Nobody on the internet cares about GTA Vice City and GTA III
To add another missing detail is that in the classic version you could order gang members to attack anyone. In the definitive edition you can't and they become cannon fodder or simple bystanders. They don't even shoot at attackers most of the time
Some things I’ve also noticed is not all the Chiefs will work for the definitive edition at least for sa i haven’t tried the other version
And rockstar fanboys still try to defend the defective edition lol
