Thought you might like this. One to add to your favourites for future customer reference ;)
Interesting video. Have liked and sub'd. Just bought a white car, 4 yrs old. Looked fine in showroom but I now see that some areas of paintwork have a cloudyness and lack shine. I tried a polish with Autoglym SRP but it is still there. It's as if someone has polished in contamination. Would compounding sort this out? And do you have a video on compounding please? Many thanks.
Interesting paint defect video, I did find the explanations good, however the solutions not as good
Lot's of useful Information...Thank you very much 👍
Thank you, glad you found it useful 👍
Hi Mat,I found this video useful advice got yellow like spots on my paint work, maybe sounds like iron deposits, how would I get this off by something like Auto Glyn Magma or different.awesome video.
Yes, give that a try. If it feels sticky, it could be something like tree sap (which I've just realised I didn't cover 😂)
Very interesting matt
how would you deal with faded paint my car is a light metallic blue so lacquered i just took the rear spoiler off & it's faded on boot lid roof & bonnet ? 👍🏻👍🏻
What car is it and do you know the colour name/code? Also, if it's an older car, does it have clear coat?
Its a 2003 mk4 Astra coupe turbo in Breeze blue ( paint code 8OU ) & yes it's clear coated
Do you have any advice to restore paintwork on a new car that is covered with dull patches after tree sap was removed? We don't have a garage so this is going to a recurring problem. Thanks.
Why are there dull patches? Maybe give a polish or a glaze a try
Heard pig tails mentioned before could you explain those please
Thanks
These are marks that look like, well, pigs tails. Usually cased by sanding or wool pads and then not finished down properly. In the "Detailing In The Rain" video, I show an example of pigtails on one of the alloys following a refurb.
Pig tails are pieces of debris caught in the pad during either sanding, compounding or polishing with a DA. It can happen with a rotary, but they aren't that easily pinpointed since rotaries can cover a surface of 9" in diameter.
👍
What type are rock chips?
They're often deep, usually they break through lacquer and paint and you can often see primer or worse, straight through to the metal/plastic panel
@@TheDetailingSpace Can a professional polish or touch up take care of these? Will I need full-body work? 2014 Infiniti Q50 with 3 layer pearl paint.
You get a like
Thanks Dan 👍
Too much talking and not enough showing, try talking whilst also showing at the same time.
Thanks.
