Ashihara Karate: Middle Distance Fighting
Being at *middle distance from the opponent offers the practitioner an opportunity to intercept an incoming attack.
Interception in Ashihara Karate means taking action as soon as the opponent advances and before his attack fully develops.
Basic intercepting techniques in Ashihara Karate used at middle distance include stopping kick, joint kick, and the (leg) hook kick.
*In Ashihara Karate, middle distance is where the opponent can be reached with a kick without taking a step towards him.
In popular culture, we often refer to this distance as the beginning of the striking zone.

@@AshiharaKarateSG mainly sports karate/Shotokan, but leatly Kudo has also started to spread (eaven if the federation is still pretty small) so mabye we'll have some growth in jissen styles in the future, i hope😂
