That’s not a bad idea! I have had an issue since that fix, but will definitely do that if it breaks again. So far so good! Thanks for reaching out.

Neat tip! i haven't broken mine yet but it's probably just a matter of time. I wonder if a small hole could be drilled on each side of the indentation on the back cover and the cord passed through the holes? The same knots could be tied to keep the cord from pulling out of the cover. Maybe even apply some silicone sealer around the holes to aid in water resistance?

One side of the loop broke on me. I grabbed some JB weld and re-enforced both sides. She is solid as a rock now. My advice is to re-enforce it before it breaks. My issue is she eats batteries unless I remove them after every trip. I called MG about this and they did acknowledge that this was an issue with earlier models. Because it is out of warranty I am sol. I may install a micro switch to electrically break the circuit when not in use.

Where the clip broke off drill a hole on each side insert the 550 ends through the holes, tie a knot on each end and done. The remote will be much more water proof and you can put a dab of silicone around each hole and make it 100% water proof after you put the paracord in.

Love it! Eventually ended up getting a new remote anyway, primarily to have a backup in the event the battery died.
