thanks for this ; a short video and i now understand the wiring of a PIR motion sensor...all the negative comments ignore the haters. Anyone knows you would sheath in the colour of your doing so, or use the connector blocks of your own choice. In all honesty some of the best crimping and end of any video i have seen been done. thank you. I was reading the instructions it comes within the box and it actually says "get an electrician to install it" lol thanks again
Hello, what causes led glowing? I have quite same motion sensor lamp and the led starts glowing when its not working. Should i put single on/off switch on it ?
It is a common issue with led light. This is what I've found : "In contrast to incandescent bulbs or halogen lamps an LED lamp has a high resistance due to the integrated power supply unit. The serial connection of the glow lamp closes the circuit even when the switch is turned off. As a consequence a low voltage drop appears to the LED driver so the LED still lights up weakly".
My lights have a earth “low wattage 7 w but have a earth wire, the pir says I don’t need a earth wire? As it’s double insulated do I cut out the earth?
Excellent video with very clear illustration. Thanks mate. Just one question, when i opened up my lantern PIR light to see how wiring is done, i see that the Main Live line (Brown) is connected to the Brown wire of the Light and the Red (switched live) & Brown (live) of the PIR sensors were shorted together. Is this normal way to connect ? What is the difference between this wiring configuration and the one you have shown in the video. Thanks in advance.
What am I doing wrong ? I am using a EKEU pir sensor I have run power from a garage socket to the PIR & the wire to the lights from the same PIR connections. It says I don’t need earth on the pir as it’s double insulted so I have no earth being used. So I have gone to the pir with the brown and blue feed & then from the very two same connections in the pit to my lights. The lights are constantly on and won’t be operated by the pir. What am I doing wrong? Any help appreciated.
Then your LED must be class II or double insulated electrical appliance. It has been designed in such a way that it does not require a safety connection to electrical earth.
Hello I've looked at all your videos but cannot find a microwave sensor with manual overide. I'm trying to fit a V-TAC VT-8077 Microwave Sensor 360° white with manual Override Function to 240v battern lights in my workshop , it has four connectors N NL L middle connector for load I've connected all to power fine, but the light keeps tripping the house RCD, I've connected the earth cable from the power to the load lead, could this be causing the problem, not sure how or where the earth's should be connected, your help, or anyone's help would be desperately appreciated.
Hi, it's hard to find a problem without being there. Was the rcd tripping without v-tac connected ? Double check the N from load is wired to N at V-tac.
I am just curious why you used a 5 way Wago Connector for three netural wires. My guess is you ran out of 3 way wago connectors? Likewise with 5 way Wago connector being used for 2 wires for LED supply with black wire at the end?
If you want to add second light on same sensor, you can connect LED live in sensor switch live, same for neutral and earth. So using 5 way wago connector is justifiable.
I found led reflector with pir sensor in scrap, it didnt work, now I know how disable not working sensor. I removed sensor and connected brown cable with red, and it works.
Sort of ok and circuit would work but as mentioned, not best practice to use cpc as switched live or with black sleeving...? (should be brown in any case)
Electricity is the compound of all around us, those famous, Alesasandro Volta (volts) Italian, Andre Ampere( amps) French . James Watt (Scottish ) and resistance Georg Simon Ohm Germany......only a few of many and some didn't even get a hello! let alone a Thanks! Electricity is and has been between our planets since the Big Bang and one day we will all succeed if only we understand the concept, and that is gravity and magnetism and energy. Heat from the Sun, energy. Electro Motive Force. EMF...Gravitational pull Magnetism ( resistance ) simply brought on of course by the Sun. This Strong hold is the gravity hold, if it had a choice it would have easily Burn't us up a very long time ago, but it can't. Well at the speed we are travelling around it! It can't. Of course every planet is doing the same. Some faster, others slower. That is an awful lot of Energy. will boost energy, So to break it down, a low VOLTAGE in a flow of electricity, which will and is already creating a higher AMPERAGE with virtually no RESISTANCE between planets would create energy, well that alone is OHMS law. Resistance will and can only be felt my a small and only small camera moving between the strongest attraction ( of Magnetism) and least ( when repelled ) Oh This has been done but not by already using the available electricity between all of our Planets. And not by the Sun. We have Electricity between our Planets, We simply are not utilising magnetism, there it is, showing us the the Northern lights, oh and the Southern! It has to be in between to fuel the cells so take your pick! Hawaii might do!!! Magnetism will collect your and our camera shots of 'Sucking" our tiny MANY many and more many Pixel ZZ beyond and a bit more. Maybe for know nasa and the rest of them will just hurry up and get on with it ! Hope you enjoy, Wife, Yumi, My Wife! have you seen my helmet any where???????what have you done with my camerahhhhhhhhhhhhh????????????????????????????????????????????? Barry,
WHAT ARE THE CONNECTORS U CRIMPED ON TO THE ENDS OF THE 3-CORE WIRE CONNECTED TO THE MOTION SENSOR TERMINAL BLOCK CALLED??? IVE BEEN LOOKIN FOR THESE BUT CANT SEEM TO FIND ANY!!!!!!!! THANKS
Wrongly wired, not done to BS7671 UK wiring regulations, the green and yellow cpc earth should still go to the sensor, regardless of it being class 2. Not having an earth to the sensor is incorrect and dangerous.

Thank you for throwing some light on this subject, you are a bright spark.
Thanks. This really helped me to wire my PIR and outdoor light.
Thanks for making it easier to understand. Question: Can I purchase just the sensor?
I have a specific lamp I want to use.
Yes, I am sure you will find some sensor online.
Thanks, and super music choice. Much better than a narrative.
Exactly what I needed. Many thanks.
Thanks for that! Very easy to understand, however if you're not sure, call an electrician. It works fine on my shed light. Cheers
Thanks mate, exactly what I was looking for.
How do you know what wire and junction boxs to use?

If I wanted to add exactly the same light so there was two lights running in this system how would I go about doing this ?
Do exactly this, twice. 👍

What if my led lamp doesn't have a protective earth cable? Does it matter?
Then your LED must be class II or double insulated electrical appliance. It has been designed in such a way that it does not require a safety connection to electrical earth.
Can you connect multiple lights to one sensor?
Usualy they are rated to 1200-1500w, you can use the sensor to power the coil of a contactor
Also, not done to BS7671 UK wiring regulations, black sleeving is not used to identify a live wire, brown sleeving only for identifying a live wire.
Get a life you waster

Did you drill that hole in the sensor for the cable?
No, it was already there.

Where does the actual power come from? Eg. How did you connect to the power??
3 AA battery should do. 👍
Why do some people add horrible background noise to their videos 🥺
Why do some people find it necessary to complain instead of just turning the volume down? Like others care about their dissatisfaction.

Thank you!!
Do you have the will to explain how to connect three sensors to one light?
You can have as many as you like as long as they are in parallel. Google it and there are plenty of diagrams.
ya just say thanks to Cam josko for fuck sake. talk about ungrateful
Can you share video link here for 3 sensor and one light connection
Can you explain me how to connect 3 sensor with one light
I want also a buzzer, connected to the circuit to make it more of a security project
If it is 230V buzzer then connect it in parallel with LED light. ( 3:38 switched live with black sleeving)
state of art work.

@@AboutElectricity THANKS - I FINALLY FOUND THEM LAST NITE!!!!!!
You cannot use earthing as a live wire. You can use earthing only for earthing. It's like "never point a gun at a people".
I guess if it is not connected to any other earthing wires it is just a pice of cable that you can use to even tie your shoes
@@waldiludwikowski697 yes, but it is not beautiful
Yes you can, if it's sleeved in the correct colour, get your facts right before you go waffling on the Internet like a know it all
because you put a negative comment doesn't mean you hate maybe just maybe they are encouraging their channel to grow fool
That music tho…
Saved my ass :)
colors of wires don't matter we want to know hot neutral ground
Si os hace falta un video para saber como unir un cable rojo con otro rojo, es que este mundo está lleno de tarados.
Utterly confusing and annoying music
You need continuity of earth ,wrong to use this as switched line

I hate the stupid music 🤬🤬🤬🤬

You overcomplicated something that was easy👎
