I want to decorate, fill my ship with my gear and equipment, and feel like I live in them so much, but CIG seems to hate actually pushing for key features and there’s so many bugs that just have you lose kit you spent 1-2 hours getting in 2-5 minutes Having your gun randomly unequip and getting you killed, ship getting stuck and blown up/despawning in hangars, dying when leaving quantum (happened twice for me in 4.0) dying when leaving the Stanton/Pyro gateways (seen people getting blown up by invisible asteroids or having asteroids right outside the portal instakilling them) etc. Say what you want about this being a hardcore experience and being an unfinished Alpha with the pop up when starting the game, but I prefer being able to have gear insurance on at least non-loot exclusive gear that I can buy it back at what, 2-3x the cost from how much you can die and lose it all to bugs that aren’t your fault
They didn't do their own check, is it game breaking?? 😂 It's was sales breaking! They are such a joke, just a marketing department with a couple of software engineers.
Especially when you die to something stupid like dropping dead mid quantum jump for no reason, falling through the ground, and dying from your ship deciding to explode while the hangar doors are open
If they made it so we could claim out gear at least once per day, I’d actually buy some armor and gun sets on the store. Even if they made it claimable on the website, I’d be fine with that.
@@clickbaker1 😂 i still can't get over that luminilia day 11 gift(what ever that doll is blushi or something) 😂 and now that 😅 oh yeah and let's not forget our contested zone price.ship parts from shops. idk feel so lazy what they do..... 😂
Honestly a lot of 4.0 I like but I couldn't get over constantly falling through the ground. I can't understand how after this many years there isn't a script to catch player who've fallen through the ground to return them to their ships.
I've fallen through the ground in multiple games and it almost never recovers, I'm not sure why but there must be something about it that makes it hard to detect and recover from. I think maybe there isn't a good way to identify empty space as "valid" (eg all the empty space in the surface of planets up into outer space above) vs "invalid" (eg inside the interior of a planet but not in a cave or basement or something). In that case probably the only fix is to repair all the places where you can clip through the ground. Unfortunately, every time they make a change to an environment there's a chance they open up a new one. They'll probably only fix the most egregious cases right now, until they're polishing up, which will be years from now.
I wish it wasn't an exploit but an actual feature, I haven't used it but I really get sick of having to load up an FPS ship every time I want to do bunkers
Gear insurance, while I get not as hardcore with the games theme, would be a massive QOL even if it was at 2-3 times the price you bought it for, as there are so many bugs and massive desync that can kill you incredibly unfairly, and if you have subscriber gear or extremely rare things like the Railgun, you’re completely out of luck if you die to something dumb like drinking (a current bug in 4.0 funnily enough)
Marketing department told them to fix that duplication issue directly, because sales were down on the gear store. Luckily I was able to copy a P8-AR yesterday from my friend so I got my 2954 AR back.
Did a DC mission. My ship got destroyed for "trespassing". Spent 30 min walking around looking for a ship. Get in it. Immediately shot down. All gear done, wake up in prison where I will be stuck forever. Uninstalled. After years of being patient with this dog turd something in me finally snapped. I can't do it anymore
Of course CIG would spend time and resources taking away something that made are lives easier rather than fixing an issue that prevents us playing . Can't wait to see the next few updates
Of all the issues they pour resources into the components duping? Hopefully they just fixed the component and ship weapon duping issue and NOT being able to claim and pay for gear as part of your ship. Being able to claim gear for a fee is a welcomed feature. It will be a bad call to get rid of that if they have not put out a way to reclaim gear purchased with real money. Give us one or the other. Don’t just give us no way to get our purchased gear back. How about focusing on the major problems with this game instead of petty things like this.

I've played 4.0 preview on more or less daily basis and I have to say that maybe 1 out 10 of days I can actually get something done... Everything seems to be buggy as hell and it's pure luck if you manage to get a server where your bounty target actually appears, cargo is loadable on both ends, elevators work, doors open of you just don't explode randomly of fall through the floor. Still, I've managed to get something done, some rep acquired and some money made. Better than nothing I guess, but really frustrating.
I was loving 4.0 initially, but it’s just been mounting frustration with how little I can get done in a play session between ship’s spontaneously combusting/disappearing, hangar bugs, elevator bugs, 80% of contracts not working, server lag getting me killed, ship parts and ship/FPS weapons randomly disappearing in my inventory, quantum not activating, quantum dropping me 100km away, tram rides not opening their doors, etc At least Performance is better most of the time though

So far, the only thing I can reliably do in the 4.0_Preview is asteroid mining in Stanton, but only if I sell the raw ore. Refining and then selling planet-side too often results in the hangar elevator eating my shipload of refined ore.
Normally, i would agree with you, but CIG are in the midst of an economy rebalance and duped items would make all the data they are trying to collect to accomplish that, useless.
I feel quite confident that a completely broken game that barely works will have a much greater impact on the economy than dupes. Heck, duping is the only thing that actually does work right now.
Got attacked at the gateway, in the process of defending myself the turrets decided to shoot me and send me to klesher...have been stuck in there for 5 days. Super happy they fixed weapon duping though great job CIG
The one mission that worked for me in 4.0, needing to 0g to a station to attack the target, do that, clear the station, go to zero g back, enemy ship jumps in and blows up my ship 10/10
i've spent more time logging in an out of star citizen than actually playing it, almost every time i log in you cant get your ship, or the lag is ridiculous, missions never work and inventory keeps bugging... the only thing I've managed to "Preview" fully so far is a log in screen and 60016 errors
🥳 I'm looking forward to the focus on stability over new features. This should be a big patch for that compared to the back-end hotfixes they've been pushing.
CIG should IMO allocate more time and effort towards debugging the existing systems developed by CIG. Given the current content and technology, they already have a significant task ahead. They should prioritize this over adding new features for the time being, especially now that server meshing has been introduced.
4.0 Hasn’t been kind to me. On one hand, overall frame rate has been more stable which is great, but on the other hand, I’ve been having login issues, getting stuck in elevators, elevators not working, server errors, missions not completing etc. It’s been a mess. Looking forward to some fixes to make it somewhat playable again.
This patch while far more playable than 3.18, still reminds me a lot of that patch. It’s been very broken for me. Glad to see that their focus is now on playability and stability.
Ny experience with 4.0 .... A BIG shit show. And why oin god's name they dont bring back the old character reset. Wher i finaly can get out of New Babage because of the hangar door bug. My game crash or a fatal bug make me loose everything. So yes a real shit show.
We dont need any content in this .1 patch we neeeeed to fix 4.0.. i dunno why people keep pushing for broken ass shit when we already have broken ass shit.. IF they said the focus is on a more stable live game.. dont expect and new game stuff anytime soon ( i for one would welcome that ) .. put it on EPTU or something.. keep it off live. Fix missions, account.. etc hangers and the normal annoying shit first.. oh and my c2 not being able to land without falling over. o7
I'm really glad that the focus is gonna be working out the kinks first rather than adding the content that is gonna be added. Allowing the game to be playable by everyone is always important for a game like this.
I hope the ship restock is a feature of convenience. I hate getting stuff, stocking ship, accidentally blowing up ship, get new ship and have to restock. If i am paying for the restock its not duping. So really really hoping that is the case. Good vid again. Have a good one.
Can’t wait for the patch hope it makes it a lot more stable. I have really struggled to do anything without some kind of crash occurring and wiping out hours effort.
I am looking forward to 4.01 because it will hopefully do what CIG has failed to do. That is, fix my account after three repair account requests over the last two two weeks
I'm glad CIG is talking about and fixing things they're going to classify as exploits. I hope that clears the air up for everyone as to what is allowed and what isn't for this stuff
was nice to be able to use subscriber gear, and get a taste for what we are missing while they continue the streak of a new scanning interface per version. back to hoping they eventually get around to the biggest QOL upgrade to come gets done (suit locker and weapon locker loadout and an insurance for it).
My tips to beat the PYRO bugs: If your warp marker disappears: 1: My most common method to beat this is using the F2 map, your marker should still be on that map, so you can select the marker, then hit the route to target button to create a new warp point. 2: Longer but a full fix. Alt+F4 (Instantly shuts the program) reload, you will appear exactly where you quit and your markers will usually be fixed. If your bounties or missions disappear: 1: I find they are most likely (but not always) to refresh when I land back at my space station 2: Check your bounties at the moment the computer says "enemy contact" I think the server updates around that point and I often find missions appear at that time. I hope a lot of people dont copy this one. Before I play, I always check the time for USA, EU, ASIA, and AUS I play in the time zone where everyone is asleep. I find the miliseconds of ping I lose from a long-distance connection is more than compensated by the performance of an off-peak server. I have forgotten a load because I am not in game, anyone else have any good tips?
still cant pick up legit missions after being trapped in klescher for a week which was instigated by a bug leading to a crime stat. I really really want to like all the 4.0 changes but is really really hard lol
CIG: "we're holding a contest. Enter and win a new ship" Players: 'We can't log in or leave prison" CIG: "Entries now closed" I'm sorry, but this is just tone deaf and poor. You have a contest where many players have simply been unable to participate. Seems to me a case of one team not communicating with others, not listening to the player base, and not being interested or understanding the state of the game. This should have been extended to allow everyone who wanted to participate to do so. CIG - listen and do better, don't railroad your schedule for things that don't really matter to the health of the game
Login issues, loading into the game, shards not working, desktop crashes, black screen, computer freezes, not able to access inventory or loot, elevator or trams stuck, constantly having to claim ship or hangar not pulling ships and destroying them, guns not firing, utility items getting stuck in hands, jump drive not working, players or NPC’s desynching, grenades never seem to do damage, ammo magazines a pain to organize with ammo pool not working or full magazines cannot be stacked in inventory correctly, animations in inventory never show correctly but highlight in blue, objects in hangars when lifting off or going out doors block your ship, having to push the same button 50 times to get something to work. Typical Star Citizen.
So glad they spent time undoing a some quality of life stuff instead of the real bugs making us miserable. Not only are they incompetent their priorities are backwards.
Yes because all they care about is making sure people have incentive to spend money on the pledge store. Game miserable? Why grind when you can buy with real money!!! And this has always been the case. Exploits get priority #1
@@charltonbreezy3929Ship teams are not the QA and bug fixing teams. You can’t knock CIG for having a team who finishes up their part of the game before other teams finish their part of the game. This is why ships keep getting released. I love that CIG keep dishing out new ships. It is pretty bland if you fly around and see the exact same 4 ships flying around everywhere. It is nice that there is variety. It is also nice that this variety is consistently expanding. It also enables the game to be able to play with a single purchase as opposed to forcing everyone into a mandatory subscription. I love this funding model because I hate subscriptions. I love owning stuff. I hate that just about every software these days requires some form of subscription to use. Microsoft 365, gameglass, and any cloud storage are just a few examples. It’s nice being able to own software.
@@filipbronola536 I might actually buy certain bits of gear for real money if I could get it back in game... But that's gone now. I actually got to use my gear for a week or so. It was nice.
I think the idea behind what people are exploiting is awesome I would love to be able to claim my ship and have everything on board how I saved it. But there does need to be some kind of rule that gets rid of or removes the items that are being claimed by insurance to prevent the duplication issue.
I look forward to when my current "Tour Baijini Station" game once again allows me to go to my hanger and use the ships I have. Those brand new VKB sticks sure would love to get used after 2 weeks of waiting. It surely doesn't make me feel a lot better when exploits for an A-L-P-H-A get fixed while I get to look out the window in space and go "Boy that's nifty." I know what someone is bound to say and it makes 0 sense to me to play a dead branch (3.24.3).
I have had my issues with 4.0 but this morning I jumped on at 6am and had an hour of seeing what the game will be like when its stable...I got 60fps client (on a 3080 at 4k) and 30 fps server (most I've had up to now is 20 and I thought that was amazing). It was like playing a single player game it felt that responsive. I did 1 hauling mission and 2 bunker missions without a problem. Wish I could have stayed on all day but my employers frown on that sort of thing.
I have a slightly different stance on this. E.g. if my ship gets incapacitated, and salvagers/pirates strip it for parts to load up their ship with my weapons.... If I fly back and claim insurance I'd expect a full ship to be returned to me. Similarly it wouldn't make sense for the pirate's parts to just despawn. Following that logic I would think the guns on the ship which are insured and I'm paying a premium to be returned to me with my 'stocked' ship would follow the same logic and be provided again without despawning from the wider universe. Potentially a workaround could be having the same law enforcers who scan for contraband could scan you/your ship and if its a duplicated weapon from an insurance claim it could come with a fine, or confiscate that 'contraband', so rather than banning people outright they're just enforcing existing pirating loops and penalties for 'shady' behaviour.
@@seekerhooligan781 Hahaha yeah... to be fair I've written this patch off for now. I'll be returning the next stable patch that drops. I'm speaking more how the mechanic should work (all glitches and bugs aside). In the meantime though benchmarking a working economy is vital for testing and development. I think its more important they focus on everyone who's losing their stuff to bugs/crashes/random explosions, before they start heavily prioritising banning duplicated items. (but that's just my 2 cents).
I would like a menu to choose where to respawn: Current MedBed, Home Hab, Home Hangar This would help navigate bugs too, when ASOP or elevators don't work
ive been having a more or less great time with 4.0 and pyro. only reall problem i=ve run into is a cargo mission not spawning the boxes and a couple server sync issues they resolved themselfs. looking forward to great year in the verse
Hope to god they get something done to fix the hangar doors. I've had my ship impounded twice and had to abandon multiple missions because a ship would spawn inside of mine or the doors would just refuse to open
CIG fixing exploits is all fine and good, but they really need to focus on playability first. By the way can I have my luminalia FS-9 back now? Lost it in a bugged hangar accident. ... Shoulda duped.
I would have to be able to get there..I only play the pu/ac, and with so so many bugs, I can't even spawn a ship, wasted all my $ trying, and I can't even get a space uber lift if I'm trapped by elevators exiting to void space. 😆 See you in a few months for 4.0."5"
On the matter of VPNs, I've been having odd hitching in this otherwise great performing patch. I tried connecting through a VPN, suspecting my ISP was being sketchy and it actually stopped the hitching. Give that a try if the game hangs for a second or two every several seconds. On these "exploits," we need this equipment insurance while our ships are still being lost through the floor of the hangar more often then anything else...

Normally, i would agree with you, but CIG are in the midst of an economy rebalance and duped items would make all the data they are trying to collect to accomplish that, useless.
Isn't players breaking the game market making it unplayable?
I feel quite confident that a completely broken game that barely works will have a much greater impact on the economy than dupes. Heck, duping is the only thing that actually does work right now.
@@steak-a-potamus6231 FPS Weapons and armor are hardly going to break the economy, especially when they have to be paid for as part of the claim.
It's not just fps weapons and armor it's like 3.18 again meaning you can dupe commodities like laranite forgot what the most expensive 1 is
Got attacked at the gateway, in the process of defending myself the turrets decided to shoot me and send me to klesher...have been stuck in there for 5 days. Super happy they fixed weapon duping though great job CIG
Looking forward to some much needed stability updates and patches. Thanks for keeping us updated.
looking forward to the upcoming stability patch
All my friends and I recently got 30009 error codes and none of us can log in. Hope 4.0.1 fixes that.
I have yet to get an ASOP terminal to work for me. Been grounded at my home planet sense the update.
The one mission that worked for me in 4.0, needing to 0g to a station to attack the target, do that, clear the station, go to zero g back, enemy ship jumps in and blows up my ship
10/10
Because this "exploit" fix was what 4.0 needed!! Its finally playable guys! /s
What? The Exploits and bugs were the only thing you could rely on, and now they are gone?
Hope the missions will start to work reliable soon
Can’t duplicate if you can’t land or call your ship
Hopefully they'll fix the ATC error "... can't deal with your... right now."
i've spent more time logging in an out of star citizen than actually playing it, almost every time i log in you cant get your ship, or the lag is ridiculous, missions never work and inventory keeps bugging... the only thing I've managed to "Preview" fully so far is a log in screen and 60016 errors
I just want the damn 4.0 to be "live" not preview.
Wonder how quick this update will move through PTU
Ny experience with 4.0 .... A BIG shit show. And why oin god's name they dont bring back the old character reset. Wher i finaly can get out of New Babage because of the hangar door bug. My game crash or a fatal bug make me loose everything. So yes a real shit show.
Completing a mission, any mission is all I want to do 😅
I've been able to consistent complete hauling missions with a VERY occasional yellow bounty
I quit trying.. just logged off a week ago and waiting till 4.01 to log back in. No point. My gameplay is destroyed with bugs at every step
Always happy to hear about stability patches coming. I have yet to actually jump to pyro, waiting for it to be in a better state for my first jump.
Same, and building up the bank for ship upgrades.
I hope the ship restock is a feature of convenience. I hate getting stuff, stocking ship, accidentally blowing up ship, get new ship and have to restock. If i am paying for the restock its not duping. So really really hoping that is the case. Good vid again. Have a good one.
It's unfortunately gone
@Nero-Caesar well that sucks
@Shriike2001 yeah
The bad first experience is not going to be forgotten, they could've just let it cook a bit more before releasing it to the public
My tips to beat the PYRO bugs:
If your warp marker disappears:
1: My most common method to beat this is using the F2 map, your marker should still be on that map, so you can select the marker, then hit the route to target button to create a new warp point.
2: Longer but a full fix. Alt+F4 (Instantly shuts the program) reload, you will appear exactly where you quit and your markers will usually be fixed.
If your bounties or missions disappear:
1: I find they are most likely (but not always) to refresh when I land back at my space station
2: Check your bounties at the moment the computer says "enemy contact" I think the server updates around that point and I often find missions appear at that time.
I hope a lot of people dont copy this one.
Before I play, I always check the time for USA, EU, ASIA, and AUS
I play in the time zone where everyone is asleep.
I find the miliseconds of ping I lose from a long-distance connection is more than compensated by the performance of an off-peak server.
I have forgotten a load because I am not in game, anyone else have any good tips?
Thx for the sum up’ ! Always nice to listen to the sc news on the way to work thx to u ✌️
still cant pick up legit missions after being trapped in klescher for a week which was instigated by a bug leading to a crime stat. I really really want to like all the 4.0 changes but is really really hard lol
CIG: "we're holding a contest. Enter and win a new ship"
Players: 'We can't log in or leave prison"
CIG: "Entries now closed"
I'm sorry, but this is just tone deaf and poor.
Looking forward to 4.0.1 to fix the big issues.
So glad they spent time undoing a some quality of life stuff instead of the real bugs making us miserable. Not only are they incompetent their priorities are backwards.
New ship soon tho. Wowie super cool
Not playing until it goes live. Tired of issues and not trying to burn myself out
I think the idea behind what people are exploiting is awesome I would love to be able to claim my ship and have everything on board how I saved it. But there does need to be some kind of rule that gets rid of or removes the items that are being claimed by insurance to prevent the duplication issue.
ARE WE THERE YET?
في المستقبل البعيد وبفضل التكنولوجيا المتقدمة سوف يتساوى الخيال مع الواقع ويمتلك الإنسان قوى الآلهة ليحول الكون والأكوان المتعددة إلى جنة خالدة ❤
Happy new year, Bored n' Zin! 😉👍
4.0 waa supposed to be live, they should not be allowed to extend to 1st quarter
other than this patch not letting me to land and do basic stuff like that, is totally a 3.18 again
Still can't get over how flying the Gaurdian in third person, it looks like robot eyes looking around.
I look forward to when my current "Tour Baijini Station" game once again allows me to go to my hanger and use the ships I have. Those brand new VKB sticks sure would love to get used after 2 weeks of waiting. It surely doesn't make me feel a lot better when exploits for an A-L-P-H-A get fixed while I get to look out the window in space and go "Boy that's nifty."
I know what someone is bound to say and it makes 0 sense to me to play a dead branch (3.24.3).
ask someone to fly u to your home planet and retrieve ships from there, fixed it for me
I have had my issues with 4.0 but this morning I jumped on at 6am and had an hour of seeing what the game will be like when its stable...I got 60fps client (on a 3080 at 4k) and 30 fps server (most I've had up to now is 20 and I thought that was amazing). It was like playing a single player game it felt that responsive. I did 1 hauling mission and 2 bunker missions without a problem. Wish I could have stayed on all day but my employers frown on that sort of thing.
Great update, and thanks for letting me know about the survey.
I would be nice if they can figure out a protocol for getting pledge store items back, especially from crashes or bugs.
I'm still experiencing technical difficulties in the majority of my play times so I'm very much looking forward to some more bug fixes.
Apparently your ship is flyable. Many of us can't even spawn one without the hangar eating it. Literally spent every dime I have trying to go ANYWHERE
I would like a menu to choose where to respawn: Current MedBed, Home Hab, Home Hangar
This would help navigate bugs too, when ASOP or elevators don't work
Hope the Bug fixes are coming asap. hardly to play rn :c
If effing CIG would’ve said they’d carry over 3.24 to 4.0 live then we’d all be much happier…
Nope. A wipe is a good thing.
Definitely happy to have CIG back at work, can't wait for the next patch.
I'm glad to hear that they quickly fixed the exploit. If only other fixes could come so quickly.
Aside from weapons, I'd love to be able to load my ship with vehicles at ASOP, so that it spawns ready for action.
I did the survey. Turns out there is a lot I’m neutral about
Hauling and merc missions we’re working for me and my friends the last few days - even mission sharing worked today
glad they are addressing these exploits so quickly.
I honestly just really want playability improved
ive been having a more or less great time with 4.0 and pyro. only reall problem i=ve run into is a cargo mission not spawning the boxes and a couple server sync issues they resolved themselfs. looking forward to great year in the verse
glad they are back and working on fixing bugs first, im excited for those fixes to come out and get more people playing and testing!
Hope to god they get something done to fix the hangar doors. I've had my ship impounded twice and had to abandon multiple missions because a ship would spawn inside of mine or the doors would just refuse to open
hope they fixed the MFD cockpit FPS drop bug
CIG fixing exploits is all fine and good, but they really need to focus on playability first. By the way can I have my luminalia FS-9 back now? Lost it in a bugged hangar accident.
... Shoulda duped.
This will be the first server meshed Daymar Rally. This should be interesting.🇺🇦🇭🇹🇵🇸
I would have to be able to get there..I only
play the pu/ac, and with so so many bugs, I can't even spawn a ship, wasted all my $ trying, and I can't even get a space uber lift if I'm trapped by elevators exiting to void space. 😆
See you in a few months for 4.0."5"
On the matter of VPNs, I've been having odd hitching in this otherwise great performing patch.
I've been out till more updates get in.
Looking forward to stability patches.
Excited for the Daymar rally as well.
Hopefully this new patch brings some stability and adds missions that the preview didn't. I don't think we can expect anything else this soon.
Update- bought items are still repair claimed but non store items won’t
