- Back at it, I managed to turn out a video this week guys, Finally getting to my Vintage Echo Kioritz Chainsaw collection. I have 5 different models to look at and a little History behind the Company as well. We will look at My Echo 750EVL, 650EVL, 440EVL, 302S and a 280E top handle saw #kainkustomgarage #vintagechainsaw #oldchainsaw

I restoring a 302 right now . I got it probably 10 years ago it was put out for trash on the side of the road . Got it running didn't take much then put it on a shelf and it sit . Well I decided to break it out and go through it again . Didn't need cleaning but needed points clean and set and oiler line was gone along with screen so I searched the inter web and found new hose , screen and o rings to rebuild manual oiler and their in the mail somewhere . I searched the inter screen and found a few post any replacing the oiler hose and it ain't gonna be fun . I believe you really should split the case to do it . I've got another older echo to do I can't remember the number but I believe it's another 3 something in the case I picked up at a estate auction to do . Was thinking about selling them but your video might change my mind . I've got WAY to many saw in my shop but then again I'm a member of CHA ------- Chainsaw Hoarders Anonymous and also seeing a Chainsaw Psychiatrist .

Lovely collection you have there, I have couple of echo's myself, 550 evl ,452 evl, 280 evl and many more, they've been good strong saws but little bit underpowered for the weight. Good luck and keep strong.

Had a 750 and cut alot of wood with it ,loved that saw and at the end of a long day you knew you'd had ahold of a real saw . Sounded like a dirtbike with a straight pipe on it

Still running my grandfather's Echo 302S...runs great, I've mostly switched to battery powered tools because I just don't use the gas stuff often enough....dumped the fuel out of the fuel tank in the Echo saw and ran it till it died and put it back in its case. Yep, getting parts for those old saws is definitely getting harder.

Thank you for showing off your Echo collection I wish that included weed wackers to I'm 60 now and when I was about 12 I had to hand cut a large cemetery around all the Headstones with grass Nippers then my boss came out with a brand new Echo string trimmer and I was a different man I've since run Echo all my life and I'm 60 now and those were great

Stoked your back into vintage saw videos; i got a 550 EVL years ago and I learned then that Echo is the Honda of chainsaws; powerful and reliable; i just got a QV-800 i converted to wood use; take care of yourself buddy and thanks for sharing.

Daddy Likes! I have two Echo 351VL one parts saw and one is very clean like the beautiful pieces such as the ones you have there. I love the dome on top of the piston in these Kioritz saws! And the chanferin around the ports in the cylinder is better than anyone else i have seen! You probably already know what I'm about to tell you Dan, But you might want to check out John Deere 60V and I think that they also have another one that is exactly what what is a Echo 452EVL and the 60V is a 510EVL only thing different is the color. And I think that the Echo that is a badass is a 625 twin cylinder model that is hard to find and if you do find one it is always pricey! Since you have such a great collection of these saws I feel like we should do a little trading saws so that you can add the 351VL i own to your collection and make it look even better than your selection you have already! Just a thought if you're interested? The one I have is so clean it belongs in your pile of perfect Echoes. I also have two hedge trimmers in very good shape that are old Echo Kioritz models! 😉

Beautiful little collection, absolutely love the old Echos. As you say, such solid, well made units. Japanese quality at it's best. I've got half a dozen or so, always on the lookout for more. Hope to see the big 750 run soon, what a minter! Take care mate. 👍

I had the chance to service 2 Hokkaido CS-254VL, which is actually made from Echo and same as Echo CS-452VL. Extremely durable saws and working strong after 40 years!!

Dan. Thank you for making this💪I know it wasn’t ez. I found group therapy/mens clubs n such really helped me sort through and not feel alone. I’m betting there are things of that sort in your area also. I’d like to see you continue your divorce series, you obviously get benefits from talking to the camera and I bet you’ll help others along the way also. I know there are brighter days ahead ☀️echo made saws for John Deere also. Have ya got any of them? I always thought they were kinda cool 😎

Well I fell off the chainsaw wagon last night and picked up a 500EVL in perfect condition for a Bennie. After I seen your nice saws I guess I thought I couldn't live without another one, and from the look on my woman's face when I walked in with another chainsaw I don't think she was as excited about my purchase as I was. 🤔

I have an echo 330evl w no spark. Pretty sure the coil is bad as it all looks clean at the points.. idk where to find parts for this old thing.
have you ever seen the old promotion video of them cutting down the giant redwood with the 302 it pretty amazing an you can use coils from mitsibitse riding mowers that what i had to do to get coil for my 302s

Like Makitas this is a straight commercial grade saw line that aint have fill saws like home, farm etc which increases costs of saws for that maker. When i visit Makita, Echo, Zenoah they are all one grade saws which makes it easy to not waste time in shop comparing with others. It keeps dealer showroom less cluttered too

There's only one echo I really want and that's a 610evl with the dual cylinders. I can only assume the second cylinder would really help the torque but it'd be so fun to mess with

If I remember correctly the regular echo 302 is a 31cc and the 302s is 33cc..they run great

Hi Dan,just ran across your video,i have a 750evl i bought new 48 or so yrs ago,i got it out to sell cause teying to downsize,only used on 2 trees and its been sitting for yrs,i just dropped it at the repair shop and guy said about 3weeks out and not sure if it needs parts if they can get them,id be interested in selling it,looks almost as good as the one in your video,let me know,thank you

One good thing about chainsaws they will not divorce you. Keep them or sell. Time helps tremendously. You can get through it.

Buddy of mine died somewhat suspiciously prior to a divorce. Still have a 650 he gave me. He had a large collection of saws that, for some reason, drove his wife nuts.
There was a 451VL also, fore runner to the 452.
There were 900Vl & 1001 also, worked on both. Needed wheels!
That 302S is bigger than 30cc, it's the super model around 35cc.

Perfect opportunity to get your hands dirty and start learning to fix these things yourself. Think of the money you'll save and the satisfaction you'll get. Can be frustrating but also a heap of fun.

Thx for good clip. You clever with you things and well...they crave attention...and you girl might feel slightly or very much.... that see been not getting attention enough. Depends on how she is grounded or how much she is beeing programmed or her fantasy, emotions and hart is been directed into this direction...of definition of self worth. In worst cases...you knowledge, you clevernes... how much time you use on perfection and development on things and...you plans...you succsess...you progress etc....she can feel or get the idea...that the attention volum she gets...is not enough. That could than be an endlesss chase and it could spiral into negative. I think it is a common " set up " I for me...think many women has been hypnoticed and programmed and in the end...cause cognitive problems...or she get the idea...that you do not care enough about her....but you do...all the time....but she does not get it and does not see it or .... But if she was not that much...hyped up...on self...and programmed by media...society...others, advertism, the culture...the powers to be etc. she would see you and feel you more...like what you are and who you are. My thought and idea...is that there is much of such in today society. It could be totally not interesting thoughts in you life and in you situation...but it came to mind...as we all see....you clever with you stuff...you collection of saws and cars and probably the most thing you have. You have good insight and knowledge and you fix problems and issues... on what you have of commodities/ things/ stuff. Food for thought...for those that see... he he ! :-) Sorry if i am missplaced here or english is bad...or if seems invasive, Anyway...you are inspireing to watch and you have humor and are appreciated...and educational...and helpful... It is not cool to have hart ake... so ... but you are loved...and you have all you need....and you are gifted... and super clever. Now...go get your future and everyday joy ! :-)
