- Check out how the bike cruises down the road. Testing the TM29 pit bike out on the road with GoPro GPS speed overlay (when it was working). Also checking out the gear ratios trying to determine if going down a tooth on the rear sprocket would be a good idea for me or not.

Bought my 10 year old RFZ 75cc and I got myself the TM125 and maaaaaan these things are super fun to ride!
They really are fun.. like a motorized mountain bike almost. So lightweight.
Man that seems perfect for tooling around trails. I can't ride now cause a jacked up hand but maybe soon it will be done with surgeries and I can get out there on the back wheel again haha. This looks like a good starting bike. Or restarting bike. When it gets time, Ill have to get one. I can't wait to get back riding. Thanks for taking us along.
Your welcome! That sucks about the injury, hope you heal up soon! Yeah it really is a nice little bike for the money. Great for a beginner but still pretty capable if you wring its neck.
I feel like I'm pretty much an "intermediate skill level" rider, with some fundamental skills from riding all kinds off stuff off road for 40+ years but went for long stretches without riding. You do have to re-learn some old skills. But the low power keeps the speeds down in the woods (can be a good thing, trees are scary!) and you need to work the gears and clutch. It makes it more engaging than a mini bike, but speeds and danger aren't that much higher like a "real" full size/ full power dirt bike would be.
And the low weight of the bike makes it a lot easier to ride off road. But these little bikes are a riot to ride, even a lot of expert riders say the same thing. Actually it's one of the most fun little bikes I have ever ridden. 🤷♂ This has 14"R and 17"F wheels. I feel like a taller guy than me (I'm about 5'9") might feel the same on a slightly larger pit bike with 16"R and 19" front wheels. But if you're my size or shorter this thing is just big enough to be a ton fun. 👍
@@bwxmoto thanks for the words, itl be arite one day. I used to race dirtbikes bikes, drag bikes, go karts and even got into dirt track in modified street but then I got all jacked up and took a while to come back around and haven't raced anything in a long time. I am definitely a beginner kind of again., I haven't been able to ride the 230 in a year or so because of the throttle hand slips off and it usually ends up bad lol. So I hang on the mini when I can stand it. I'm about 6' and 180 decked out and after being use to the mini I feel like I will have "plenty" of leg room lol. Do you think it could be possible to use a thumb throttle on that bike if it came down to it? I've never ridden a bike with thumb throttle and assume it to add an element of danger, but as long as I can get out there I'm cool with it
@@rustyshackelford9414 That's awesome. Yeah you probably have much more skill than me with that experience. One actual regret I have in life is not riding more, not buying bikes I could have, and not getting my motorcycle license sooner.
Yeah I think a thumb throttle would work great! When I was kid I had a Honda ATC110 that I thrashed all over creation and that had a thumb throttle. Lots of people use them on mini bikes and I think even some pit bikes come with them still. If it gets you riding again, that's the perfect reason to use one. If I were 6 feet tall I think this bike would be a little too small, but maybe not. My inseam is about 31" and I have long arms for my size. LOL Plus you can add handlebar risers for $20 and that will help a lot.
If you got one just like this you could assemble it and prep it, and probably sell it for a profit and buy another one if it's too small. I've seriously considered ordering a bunch of these, then do all the assembly and prep to get them working perfectly; and then selling them on FB or something and make a few hundred bucks a pop. Especially if you buy them in the winter and sell them in the spring/ summer as a "jump on and ride" package. A lot of people just don't want to mess with hassle of assembly.
"perfect for tooling around trails" Yup couldn't have said it better, it's perfect for that. It's almost rides like a full suspension mountain bike in a lot of ways.
I have the TM24 same bike just a little smaller frame. I must say this thing has surprised. My only complaint is the gearing. I put a 17t sprocket on the front and nibbi carb and I'm hitting 62mph now! The gearing is good off-road too👌🏻
Nice! Yeah I'm totally impressed with the bike so far. For the money, these are great little bikes.
Yeah the gearing is definitely pretty low, but 2nd gear on a really steep trail bogs down low in RPM.. I'm talking really steep though.
I hope the new carb and tuning the new carb can get rid of that slight blog down low in RPM range. Then I think gearing up wouldn't hurt my climbing ability, and 1st gear will be more usable, as well as having a little more top end speed.
But then again, maybe 1st gear would just go up that hill faster with taller gear ratio, and can leave 2nd gear for less steep sections. Always a trade-off I guess!
I'm not surprised it went 62 mph. I feel like this could easily go 55 or 60 mph even with stock carb with a little taller gearing. The engine runs pretty good even with stock carb.
@@bwxmoto yeah no real reason to change it although it does give it a bit more throttle response. All in all this bike is pretty good how it is we'll see how long she lasts lol
@@bwxmoto the carburetor on mine you are not able to take apart well you can but it's a real pain in the butt and you'd have to find some new hardware for it to get it back together but other than that there's really nothing matter with it if you do manage to get it apart change the Jets and it takes care of that bogging problem haven't had a bog yet
@@nick_dizzle Yeah the stock carb runs pretty good actually. Aftermarket carb will have more adjustments though, and probably make more power. My stock one doesn't even have air fuel mixture screw or idle adjustment.
But you could definitely still adjust jets, needle height and stuff to get it running better.
I figured if I am going to mess with a carb, might as well get a better one since they aren't much $$$. 👍
Amigo which is better for you? This one or the coolster rfz or apollo? I'm looking for the best purchase 👋🏼
This is the only one I have so hard to compare. I'd look at the forks, frame, and shock and pick the best one. It'll probably be the most expensive one. This one has a good engine and pretty good frame and ok shocks (all ok/ good for the price), but steel wheels, cast hubs, etc.. For the price, I'm really impressed with it actually. But it's definitely built to a price. Zongshen engine is nice though. Or just get the one you think looks best, that's seriously not a bad way to go because they are more similar than different, and it's better to have a bike you like the looks of. LOL
Well bwx i diassembled my coleman and painted the frame black the desert tan was to me just didnt jive with the camo ill do a quick video of the reassembly
I always was going to do that on my EX with the Predator 212 in it. I bought all the paint and everything. Never did it! 🤣 Will be interesting to see how it looks. The tan has grown on my a little bit, but it'll look better black I'm thinking. Could paint wheels and triple tree clamps black too. Not sure if the EX is one I want to keep though now, I have to sell a few of them at least. But the EX is probably my fastest mini.. Can't imagine selling it.
@@bwxmoto if you sell your coleman youll probably wish that you hadnt but then again the proceeds could partially fund another build or more upgrades i dont think ill ever sell my coleman they dont hold theyre value
I see used listings for 300 all the time but people just arent paying that for a used mini bike around here its also worth mentioning that there really isnt any place to ride around here without some prick calling the cops
Edit: my paint job was done outside so it didnt turn out as well i had hoped
@@GeorgiaRidgerunner Yeah I'll definitely regret selling, but have way way too many now. LOL I guess I can rationalize it by thinking it's someone else's turn to have fun with it. My suped up EX is really fun though, will be hard to sell that, probably fastest hard tail I have. And I use CT200U all the time with the basket. But I have 9 bikes I think.. no 8. LOL. Crazy. That's a lot of upkeep and maintenance just to keep them all running right.
With sprocket change, v22 carb and high octane gas I can squeeze 54 out of it. I'm lighter than you. Bike runs out of horsepower before it over revs. Xpro x26 125cc.
That's cool. Mine has larger rear wheel though, I think. 14". Is that one 12"? I have a couple sprockets and a new chain to try. Mine went 49 mph flat ground and 50.8 down hill.
(check latest vid - ruclips.net/video/DZvMypeh92Y/видео.html ).
It was revved out as far as felt like I should rev it both times. I guess this bike will go 55 mph if you let it rev all the way out according to other people and the literature. I think with me on it stock it would do 55 down a hill but only when revving the nuts off of it. I'm going to gear up to a 16t up front just to test and see what happens.
I'm more concerned about 2nd gear climbing in the would than top speed though. 1st is too low, but second is too high sometimes if it's steep enough. Maybe I could just use 1st and rev it out more on hills on the crazy steeper sections and hopefully 2nd gear will still have power to climb the less steep stuff. If not I have a 15t to try too. Comes with a 14/41 - f/r sprocket setup.
Also going to try a new carb, maybe that will help with low down 2nd gear bog so the higher gearing might be ok.
Indeed mine is 12", makes it a tiny bike! But I'm 5'7" so not too bad. Thinking of going to a 15" front sprocket .
I'd rather have more torque than speed. After all it's a pit bike.
What kind of oil do you use for this bike
10w-40 full synthetic JASO MA/2 made for wet clutches. Doesn’t really matter to me about brand.
@@bwxmoto thank you
THATS ALL YOU HAVE?
NO I HAVE MORE
If u chang your front gear to a 17 tooth gear u will get 50 or better
Yeah I'm sure it would. It's got good top end. Not getting comment notifications. Oh well.
