Blue Loctite ALL bolts and also make sure you lube the axles and swingarm pivot bolt thoroughly. They're great bikes but you have to go through them completely. Change the oil several times as it wears in properly. Keep an eye on the chain tension regularly. The cheapo china chains tend to wear and "stretch". I'd recommend replacing the chain with an RK chain.

old school mechanic here two big tips I can give you for these kinds of bikes, firstly, make sure you change out the Jets in the carburetor they're typically tuned really really lean from the factory, and secondly, make sure you change your oil after a couple dozen hours of running for the break-in procedure. also check your valves around that same time to make sure there's nothing loosey-goosey in there.

I had the DBX19 which is this size but with a headlight. It was fun and a great bike to learn on. Being brand new I was intimidated to go to a dealership and spend a lot of money on a Japanese name brand. The Apollo was a lot faster than I anticipated. It can go 50 mph and the front wheel will jump up if not careful dumping the clutch. I sold it and got a bigger one now. It’s on the small side for an adult male. They make descent bikes, but you should pay attention to assembly. From the factory some wheel spokes may be not tight, as well as the bolts and other things. Pro version is much more durable, has alloy wheels, suspension that can be adjusted and handle big jumps. I was lucky enough to get a good test drive before making a choice. 250 hours of abuse and nothing broke besides the oil radiator, and piston rings were replaced as well. Plastic is super soft and does not brake. Rear suspension need a cover because the mud and sand will destroy it quite fast

I have found that a lot of the clone/China bikes are fun....no rocket machines but they are still fun . The engines hold up well. Again, this my honest opinion. I have been riding since I was 7yrs old. I buy a lot of used China bikes, fix & clean them up, then resell them. No complaints from the buyers so far. The Apollo, it is a very good bike from the 70cc to the 250cc. If you aren't racing motocross and just enjoy trail riding, these China bikes & ATVs are great for small trail riding. I also like restoring older name brand bikes. My latest is a 88 Suzuki DR200 and its a beast! Thanks for sharing this video.

When I bought my first dirt/street bike, you could not ride a brand new bike like that. Instructions said something like breaking the engine and components in. You couldn't go over idk...this was in the early 80s...say 10mph for so long, then 20mph...took a good week to break the engine in. I've bought all used bikes since then, except for the dirt/street I have now. I regret buying it so much. It's a 250 cc, $2k. Even at its lowest, I have to tippie top to reach the ground. I should have known, being 5ft 5inches, 105 lbs. I bought it brand new in June of 22, has 21 miles on it. That's how much I love it. My little bike, a Honda 80 XL from the mid 80s, went 55 mph with 2 teenage kids on it. Meant for one. 60 with me alone. Of course that's pegged out, but this 250 doesn't even touch what that little bike had. If I'd have known I could have bought a Honda XL 125 for 1500 bucks and with a Credit Card. I'd have done that instead. At least I know what I'm getting. It's faster than this 250 too. Stay away, far far far away from Tao Tao Tbr7

I just retired this year, and my shop sold a lot of these bikes. the manufacturer is Apollo. the engines are very good. you need to be careful of the transmission, like where he was jamming it pretty hard to put it in gear. be mind full of tire pressure and loose spokes. carbs are a good upgrade and so is a better rear shock absorber. The coolster M-125 is also a great bike much like this one. No comparison to Jap bikes but for the money....fine

i had one that i 190 swapped it, if you dont abuse them they are great i guess, i welded pretty much everything you can imagine on that thing lol it was atleast 4 sets of rims per season on a pit bike track you get what you pay for, rear suspension was decent on mine the front forks straight up trash, i believe mine was called apollo open 140? something like that, only thing that never broke was the engine they are strong when you run em with quality oil
