March 19th, 2021 Stage IIIA Non Small Cell Lung Cancer (Non-Smoking)
February 2022 Stage IV Non Small Cell Lung Cancer (spreading to Brain, and other parts of lung and lymph nodes)
Gene Mutation EGFR with Exon 20 Insertion
TREATMENTS: Received or currently Receiving
2021: 8 Rounds of Chemotherapy (Carboplatin and Paclitaxel) with 30 concurrent radiation treatments to chest and lung
Failed Immunotherapy directly after Chemo and Radiation (Durvalumab, 1 round)
2022: Chemotherapy
10 rounds of Chemotherapy (Carboplatin, Alimta, and Avastin)
6 with Carboplatin, 4 without
Targeted Brain Radiation (Completed)
CURRENT TREATMENT:

The purpose of my channel is to document my cancer journey to look back on, and/or help anyone else going through anything similar. It is also to potentially help loved ones supporting those who are in this fight as well. This is also an easy way to update a lot of people at once. My sister had cancer 2 times in adulthood. Stage 3 b breast ca and stage 4 colon 22 years later. We decided we had to dig all the nuggets of gold that God had hidden in these circumstances out. We laughed our way thru stem cell harvesting ( people thought we were nuts) but we did what was necessary to get thru. Sisters are the Best❣️ and I am so glad you have each other!!🙏 without ceasing!

As a retired RN with over 30 yrs in the hospital I was wondering about your blood counts because of your pale lips and continued persistent fatigue. When your hemoglobin (oxygen carrying component of blood) is low you have reduced oxygenation to all of your tissues and organs resulting in shortness of breath and fatigue. You should be feeling so much better by now after receiving the blood transfusion. Continued prayers for you and your family as you all continue your battle with this cancer beast!

@@TriciaRolfsrud-yx6xk emergency room doctors sent me home when I had sepsis, they truly do not care to stay on top of people, especially women.
Her lips have been pale and worsening for sometime. I can’t recall when I first noticed it. She’s definitely been weak as well. But it’s been difficult to know which symptoms play into what of course . Not being privy to any of her clinical info.

Unfortunately, yes. I feel so sick about it. I hope it’s just anxiety from not seeing a post for a few days. If she already went home from the hospital, she’s probably super busy with the kids.

@@witchimage7855 I feel like they never explained why she was having to stay. Maybe they were waiting for her not to have to be drained so often or for her pain to lessen. Either way, Kyle seemed to be very sad with a great deal more fear than usual. This is understandable since he had to call for an ambulance more than once in a week.

I worked in a pharmacy and this elderly woman came in she didn't speak English very well she said she wanted candles for the bathroom. I showed her all of our candles and with lots of back and forth we finally figured out it was suppositories we were looking for. Hugs Ann

Hi Jenny You have been through such an ordeal. I am so sorry you have to go through this. I feel for Kyle. I know his hurt is not physical , but still so real. Thanks to Tracy and your sister. I stayed with my hospital when he had knee replacementnbut their couch turned into a comfortable bed.

The POG Family are on RUclips. There’s far too many young people getting cancer. Not sure if it was always that way or if we find out about more affected families now, because of social media. Either way it’s heartbreaking.

I am just so impressed with your ability to film while in the hospital. Also, having visitors is fun but can be tiring. You are so strong!
My thoughts exactly! She is very fortunate to have as many visitors that she has had, to even make a schedule for people to come…most people go through this alone and have to deal with information on their own. She is very lucky that she has that support system!

Jenny in honor of all the ill patients with cancer I have made a commitment to donate blood, plasma or platelets! I seem to be excellent at the platelet donations! I had to stop the whole blood because my iron was way to low so platelets it is from here on. Jenny you are an inspiration and I am asking God for a miraculous healing!
You are a rock star! I had critically low hemoglobin and got superhero red blood cells in my transfusion. A blood donor saved my life!

Dear divine spirit of the earth, please lift Jenny and her family so high and mighty. Continue giving her strength to do as she is for as long as she needs/wants. Give her family the strength to endure any sadness and lift away the tears. Continue giving Jenny the signs (like those in her window) she needs to lead her through. May the doctors and nurses and all the meds work in her favor. Continue giving Jenny the power of positivity. In your name I pray. Amen.
Maybe some games you can play with your kids while you need to sit down is:
Close your eyes after scanning the room infront of you, and when your kids say to open your eyes you have to find the 5 (or however many) items have been moved!
Ninja training: Close your eyes and have your children try to walk past you as quietly as possible. If you hear them make a sound, they have to go back to the starting line
‘It’s all GO’: Need to burn some energy? While you sit and relax, enthusiastically give instructions for what your kids have to do: e.g “Walk like you’re a penguin… BUT NOW THE GROUND IS LAVA, and now your digging for treasure, now you’re a kangaroo, help there’s a monster coming - Run! The monster’s gone but it’s raining” etc. Great for encouraging their imagination and wearing them out.
Lazy hide and seek: Get your children to go and hide, then instead of having to go and find them, yell out the guesses for where they are hiding e.g. “Are you under the table?” “Are you in the cupboard?”. They yell out ‘no’ and you keep guessing, without having to move at all!
What great ideas!

Haven’t heard anything but like you all wondering and praying things are going well.
During my chemo, my white blood cells dropped and I needed a transfusion too. Before the transfusion, I had the same issue with my ear. I could hear my heart beat and pulses through it whenever I stood up. My sisters were always with me too with every treatment so my husband didn't have to constantly take off work all the time. I couldn't have done it without them. Thank you to all the blood donors out there. You save our lives every day from your acts of kindness for strangers.

@@rebeccajar5929 that was miraculous. Good for you. I'm glad she was able to do that. I used to donate obviously years ago and I always wondered who got my blood. I now know what it feels like to receive it and makes me even happier that I was able to donate before. I wish I still could.

@mjohnson8472 that’s called pulsatile tinnitus. I don’t have cancer. I have lupus, which has caused me to have intracranial hypertension (high brain pressure), and the pulsatile tinnitus is caused by the intracranial hypertension. I’m sure that in Jenny’s case, as in yours, it could have been caused by one of the cancer treatments you have gone through. Or something else.

My husband’s grandfather became alarmed when he insisted that the birds outside his hospital window were his farm chickens. On heavy meds, he could not be convinced otherwise and chastised my husband for allowing them to get as far as the hospital. It was a little sad, but comical at the same time💙🥰💙

I’m so happy that you have your sister with you. My oldest sister left us in 1989 at age 35. She had metastatic cancer when they found it. She was a teacher at our local college. I miss her every day. I pray that this transfusion brings on strength for you Jenny. Day by day living to its fullest as possible with love from everyone. We all luv you out here. Stay strong luv🐞🦋🐞

Hi Jenny I had the same pulsating in my ear it sounds like your heart beat is in your ear. Mine was caused by the chemo. It started way after I finished chemo. It lasted a couple of months and then went away on its own. Praying for you , hang in there you got this!💞🙏🙏
I have had the heartbeat tinnitus too. I get it when my blood pressure is high.
Jenny your strength in continuing to catalogue your journey through this awful illness never ceases to amaze me especially when you are feeling particularly ill and exhausted. My mother had breast cancer in 1976. She had reconstructive surgery in 1988. She got a transfusion in 1976 but not in 1988. She said she could really feel a difference and it made her feel so much better. Hope it did the same thing for you.

i'm so happy for you that you have such a great support system , i've often wondered what would happen to me in such a situation bc i only have my 14 yr old daughter, no other family or friends, lots of acquaintance's but no one close enough to ask for support ..it makes me sad for others that may be in the same situation as you with no one to lean on.😢

I just found your channel a couple of weeks ago, Jenny, and I watch every video that you post. You are beautiful, and your courage is so inspiring. About 15 years ago, my nephew’s doctors told him that nothing else could be done in his journey with non Hodgkin’s lymphoma. City of Hope in Phoenix saved his life. of my cousin who passed away from double lung transplant in 2020 at a very young age 36.
She was like my little sister and I miss her everyday. I pray for you every day. she was born premature and fought her whole life always with a smile like you.

Everyone praises you and Kyle as well they should. However, I want to say something about your outstanding sister! Ashley makes you feel safe as she is a nurse and can assist that much more. Plus she and her husband takes your children so much of the time and I know she is happy to do it but let's face it, it is still alot so I just want her to know I only wish my sisters were half as supportive and selfless as she is!

Jenny, your eyes have the same bravery and exhaustion my father's did when he was dealing with his cancer. He lost his ability to speak shortly after diagnosis. Communication was difficult. Watching your videos has given me a glimpse into how he might've been feeling. I pray for you and your family. Cancer sucks.
