I don't quite get your cold start with all the pedal action. I have a 78 with a 400.....very built....runs a edelbrock 4 barrel and the choke on that thing is a never fail deal, starts and runs perfect in all weather. My float bowls are with fuel for a few months after it has run, if longer I just let it crank a bit so the pump fills the bowls then hit the pedal once and the choke sets, bowls are full and its ignition time every time. I also have an advantage of a dual battery that runs in parallel, added it for the Hickey under bumper winch, it sure adds to the cranking power in real cold weather.

I had a 73 4x4 f250 long bed 4spd manual with np205 divorce mounted transfer case with Dana 44 and dana 60 rear with 36 1650 dick cepecks I got when my grandpa past away when I was 15 he custom ordered it with AC with manual brakes and no power steering lol I miss that truck
Exactly the same truck as mine! I like the look of these trucks stock with 36s fills the fenders nice
My grandpa had a 73 f250 with a 400 big block ford and danna 60s it was ford brown
Sweet ass truck right there
*_1 tire fire? 1 wheel peel? .....single sister blister?_*
Cool. I had a 73.
Curious if you record cold starts under the hood showing the engine and carburetor while your inside the truck trying to cold start
I got one if you look on my channel it's something about "military tires suck in snow" but everyone said they liked the pump lol next time I'll do a cut scene for both inside and out
Do you still have this old Forward pick up are you selling it or just showing it please comment back and let me know thank you
I still have it it's not forsale
@@4x4hondarancher OK I had one like that that's why I was asking if it was for sale years ago those trucks are built not like the new ones
Do more I have a 75 f250 4x4 360 4 speed.
My 71 had a tank on each side of the bed and 1 behind the seat
hi, would you like to sell the grid of that truck that is broken? I speak of Brazil.
I own a 1977 F150 ranger 4x4 and I’m thinking about lifting it……why do you want to remove your lift kit? Depending on your answer I might not waste the money.
Ive exceeded my freedom height wise lol an its just generally wicked high to jump into or peek over the bed sides... i think i would use it more if it wasnt lifted plus it can fit 37s with no lift
@@4x4hondarancher thank you sir!
What bucket loader brand is that? My pops and uncle used to fool with an old Hercules, that we called "Hurky".
Its a clark Michigan 55
Its just a shitty old motorcraft electric choke an looses its prime so i try an help it by pumping it alot
Is she for sale? My buddy loves that body style and they are hard to find here
Not for sale sorry
how is it on the highway as far as handling
Not good lol the lift is coming out an those military tires are coming off
Definitely more of the truck
I had a 77 1/2 f- 250 do you know the difference in that ?
77.5 and up isthe same as a 78 im not sure the exact month they changed them. What month was your truck manufacturered in
@@4x4hondarancher I'm not sure wish I still had it but I sold it years ago mine was definitely not a high boy though
Im more of a MOPAR old school Dodge guy! The old Dodges & Ramchargers years 93 and under! But yeah new RAMS suck in my opinion! But I 🖤 the old FORD HIGHBOYS! 👍💯💪
Been running a big block Chev in my '71 since 1979.
Gross lol🤣 jk whatever works for yah bud! I've always had bad luck with the 2 gmcs I've owned
Damn Jed, we bought a 71 in early 80s had a bAd ass 454 was s great combo. Wish i still had it.
@@unclebob7937 with a 4L60 behind it I cruise down the road at 65 MPH at 1900 RPM.
I like to see a nice clean one in my driveway
Just my advise but id just rebuild the F250. All the other stuff can wait. Awesome truck
Let’s see more of the Ford truck!
cold start??
"My Key ring is a sin"
I tried to explain all this to a highboy page on Facebook. They didn't accept my request to join.lol
Right on
alottt of pumping holy shit lol i pump mine 1/5th as much thats wild it seemed close to being flooded hard to say on video tho nice truck i have a similar one
It looses its prime so you gotta giver hell! New carb set up going on it this spring
@@4x4hondarancher nice love the truck look forward to seeing it what carb yiu doing i think im going with another holley 650 dp
@@CodySnell_87 exactly what I want 650 holley dp with manual choke instead of this automatic garbage.
@@4x4hondarancher same here i got my truck tore apart im stripping it to bare metal with all rust free parts
@@4x4hondarancher mine has a mildly built 352 fe in it with 390 parts mixed in
Doesn't the VIN number tell if is a Highboy?
Yes sir if it says f26 (which is any 4x4 f250)
So there aren’t any F150 HiBoys ?
Nope the only "high boy" is just a stock f250 4x4
You flooded it. only need to pump a couple times/
Wait you can start them without using a clutch? I didn't know that haha I seriously want one of these
You can start any standard without the clutch if you wire up the safety switch but yes these trucks didnt have a clutch safety switch... im not sure when that started id say 80s but thats a complete guess
The rumors have been debunked, cool.
At a glance one for sure way to no a high boy is above the front bumper there is a cross member between grill and bumper and only the high boys have that cross member 67 to 77 - 1/2 also 78 79 dana 60 fits but good luck find one under $1000 and sometimes very rare can find 65 up half ton with a divorce T case and i had 70 half Ton 4 hi 2 hi only gear in T case
He flooded the living shit out of it
It looses its prime as mentioned takes alot to get it back
I think it’s called flooding the hell out of it!
You forgot one of the key things about the Highboy and that's the front axle hi boys always have the front axle I can't remember if they're 4-inch or 4 and 1/2 in Hub and locking hub and the pinion gear is at the bottom of the third member all the other front ends has the high pinion gear meaning it being at the top of the third member
i think they changed from low pinion to high pinion at some point... maybe the last year or 2? I cant remember
@@4x4hondarancher highboys were low pinion until. the lowboy came out. never hp inna lowboy. however a disc brake option came in as a front option 76 and early 77.
Yeah you don’t need the whole checklist idea to know if the truck is a HighBoy truck, all that does is complicate a very simple thing. Any 4x4 F250 from ‘67 models to ‘77 models are ALL HighBoy trucks. All ‘77.5 model F250 4x4 trucks and newer are NoT HighBoys.
.... Update, haha I wrote this comment soon after you started the vid and hadn’t watched your whole vid yet, that’s my bad.
Not trying to start an argument but I hope everybody knows ford never actually released a truck called a highboy it was an acquired nickname for the package it had added leafs which made it sit higher thus ppl called em that plus they always had the divorced tcase and several other options but was only on the f250s
By the way I'm pretty much in agreement with the original creator of the video.
Narrower frames as well
i have a 77 f250 highboy 4 cab but the engine is blown up
I've got an fe 360 for it 🤣
