This was written by a year 11 student?! the language and analysis is great, unexpected from a student the age of 16... I do not think this would be achievable in am exam due to the amount of quotations used and also the complexity of this answer would make it near impossible to write it in the right amount of time for the exam.
Omagaaawd I don't think I can ever write this much in 45 minutes. How did a student even write this much? My GCSEs are in a month and Idek wth I'm gonna do.
kk gamer remember 1. He would have to have planned what he was going to write before. It's impossible to write something in that depth without planning. 2.He would have needed to read the extract-annotate e.g. 3. Exam pressure. There's no way this was done in 45 minutes.
I don't like this as example, it gives you unrealistic expectations of how many quotations you need to know. He used an impressive plethora and the academic language was very impressive but I don't think he/she hit top band with that answer, which could have been achieved with substantially less quotes.
True it uses a lot of big words to seem clever but in actuality the answer shows a lack of understanding of the novella in some ways eg saying that hyde's house in soho is jekylls back door Saying that jekyll was "austere" when in fact that's utterson Overall i'd give it a grade 7 max
He didn't say that Jekyll was austere he directly accustomed that with Utterson who wanted to break through the lab of Jekyll. Think before you comment lmao.
thankyou so much your videos are helping me so much with some last minute revision my exam is on Monday . good luck to everyone who is doing the English lit paper 1 on Monday
This student started on a high and then their language and understanding just fell apart, they also got confused as to the location of Jekyll's house. Hyde owns a house in Soho however Jekyll's own residence isn't in Soho, though it does have two sides, neither is in Soho
can you make a video on chapter 9 when Dr Lanyon visited by Hyde who is desperate to for the potion to transform himself back into Jekyll. by the way i love your video and its realy helpfull. thanks

he used like 2 thesaurus's
@@huzafah that's a lot of thesauri
can you make a video talking about key quotations to remember
GoldenEagle949 That would be really useful I have no idea where to begin!
There is a song in the playlist that goes over the useful quotations. I personally found it quite helpful, I hope it's just as helpful to you :)
Exams in less than 12 hours, every little helps amiright? Praying this’ll come up
Just to clarify this is a grade 9 right?
Please can you do more analysis of Jekyll and Hyde, it would be muchhhh appreciated as I'm doing it for GCSEs- thanks!

Depends on exam board. Some exam boards don't need a lot of langauge anaylisis, whereas some need more.
Yeah but is it possible to write something this complex in an exam
+AF25 of course
True it uses a lot of big words to seem clever but in actuality the answer shows a lack of understanding of the novella in some ways eg
saying that hyde's house in soho is jekylls back door
Saying that jekyll was "austere" when in fact that's utterson
Overall i'd give it a grade 7 max
There is no suggestion that this is a perfect or top marks answer- just that we can all learn from it.
The Boss honestly I would give it a 6 but I’m basing it off AQA’s criteria’s. This just seems like a who can remember the most quotations competing
He didn't say that Jekyll was austere he directly accustomed that with Utterson who wanted to break through the lab of Jekyll. Think before you comment lmao.
Hyde's house in Soho *IS* Jekyll's back door...it leads into an annex of the laboratory
Wow. This is so good! I could only dream of writing like this.
thankyou so much your videos are helping me so much with some last minute revision my exam is on Monday . good luck to everyone who is doing the English lit paper 1 on Monday
Started revision English lit 5 days before the exam... bad idea
Aren't we supposed to analyse and write about the effect on the reader?
Does a dichotomous character mean one with 2 sides?
wow! could you please show some essays on Jane Eyre, Macbeth and an inspector calls?
why not send one in?
mrbruff I am not an grade A student 😪 I am a B grade student thanks to u and these are really helpful!

Sir, in our answers do we need an introduction and if yes, what could it talk about.
But he doesn't talk about what effect it has in the reader
and little lang analysis, no context and way too may quotes. I think this is like a 7 idg why ppl are saying this is a 9.
It's not just about using Big words Isn't it
It's shouldn't be a 7 it should be like pass
TheOG Bola context in the social construct part but it wasn't explored
nah how can someone actually write like this
sorry to ask but could you give us actually quotes from the book with analysis .Also quotes that link to certain themes in the story
Shut up
Does a higher level answer not need more language analysis?
orangein acup The student's exam board is Edexcel and, as the description states, close language analysis is not needed for Edexcel.
+orangein acup look at the description box
Is it necessary to include an introduction and conclusion? If they do, are they worth any marks?
@mrbruff please would you be able to copy the student exemplar and paste it in this section.
what mark would this answer get?
Blossom 15 are you for serious?
How will you grade the answer???
So helpful, thank you 😊
Mr bruff what grade of analysis would this piece of work be granted?
can you make a video on chapter 9 when Dr Lanyon visited by Hyde who is desperate to for the potion to transform himself back into Jekyll. by the way i love your video and its realy helpfull.
thanks
How do you do close word quotation analysis?
You don't get any marks for introduction??!! So it will be perfectly fine if i just jump into it?
nearly a 100,000 subs !
what grade would you give this student?
If this is a grade 9 I should be hitting 10’s
Do you help mark essays for people?
+Swanna as a paid service, yes. Email info@mrbruff.com
how do i send my work?
+hypintesti email a scan or typed copy to info@mrbruff.com

+Millie Bowden afraid not
