      So is there anyway to run emulators on the wii without using the homebrew channel? I don't have constant internet connection so I guess I'm really asking if you have to internet connection to run emus?

      No you don't need internet to use emulators. But you need internet to put it on there first though

      Seriously I just found out about him after getting a cheapo wii and the first thing I did after watching the tutorial was to check if he had any other content. You have a way of speaking that really gels with me and I was also pretty shocked after seeing the sub count. Did we all just got lucky and stumbled upon some sort of diamond in the rough here?!? I'm subbing but hacking the wii to oblivion literally takes a day so I'm hoping to see just random ass content. What ever you're doing, keep doing that lol.

    The Wii and Wii U are god-tier emulation machines and they're pretty cheap to buy :) easy to homebrew and runs such a massive game library flawlessly with a wide array of controllers and accessories that work.

    • @BelowAverageGaming
      @BelowAverageGaming  3 года назад +2

      Well said, I don't really care for third-party controllers though as far as a wiimote goes. But other than that in terms of how easy it is to install homebrew and what runs emulation was the Wii and Wii U are great systems

    • @BenCarnage
      @BenCarnage 3 года назад +1

      @@BelowAverageGaming Yeah, I'm still hunting for more nintendo original wiimotes and the attachment controllers. I'm pretty patient stocking up peripherals, controllers and whatnot. I got my gamecube controllers insanely cheap. I'm always buying if the price is right. We have a wii u and two regular wii plugged in so the good wiimotes keep moving around.

    • @BelowAverageGaming
      @BelowAverageGaming  3 года назад +1

      As far as third party goes I really don't mind the third party game controllers, a lot of the official ones you can find nowadays have a bit of analog stick drift and sometimes the analog stick itself is just loose in general. But that's if I'm playing emulators. If I'm playing something like Super smash I'll need an actual GameCube controller

  • @Neptune-Rain93
    @Neptune-Rain93 Год назад +3

    You don't need to make a folder for each game for the nintendont GameCube games. You also don't need to change the name of it. You just need to make sure its a straight iso. File not ciso. And not nkit either. Just straight iso. And the game can be left with the original name. It will work and run perfectly.

    This is great and all so thanks for putting together this tutorial - there's only one problem and that is PS1, Saturn and N64 are completely unplayable - poor framerate and poor controls - I've only got a wii remote so I'm screwed who thought that tilting the remote up and down to move the character on Goldeneye was a good idea? I'm aware you can configure the controls but I'm lazy and I've just done all this to get it working. Mega drive/game gear/master system all work ok - GBA, GBC and GB are all very slow - not sure if it's the emulation software or the hardware letting us down here? In my opinion your better off using an android tv box/nvidia shield EG retroarch or emuelec or even on your phone for better performance

    • @BelowAverageGaming
      @BelowAverageGaming  2 года назад +1

      Yo,
      Just an FYI, PS1 and N64 emulation are usually trash on consoles. I can't say I've tested all, but they run like dookie on the original Xbox and the Wii and the Wii U for the most part.
      There is a compatibility list for N64 games and PlayStation 1 games that will tell you what works on the Wii if you're interested
      PlayStation :. wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/WiiSX_compatibility_list_(beta_2)
      N64:. wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Wii64_Compatibility_List
      I would say this is due to the emulators not necessarily the hardware on the Wii.
      Personally I've never tried the Saturn so I don't have much to speak on that

  • @thatshaggydude8063

    I just finished doing this to mine. I found out if you have a memory card over 64gb and format it. You must get a 3rd party format tool in order to format in fat32 or the Wii won't recognize it. Also NES, and Gameboy won't recognize Roms in RAR files you must extract them.

    So the gamecube emulater doesnt allow for saving since i think there was no save file in the games section we created. Would that be solved if i added a saves file to the nintendont files or would i actually need a memory card to save those games

    • @BelowAverageGaming
      @BelowAverageGaming  11 месяцев назад

      Everything should save to the SD card. You can try adding a saves folder but there should have been one from the start.
      Sometimes one can get created after trying to actually save the game too

      Almost every emulator has custom settings. You should be able to use and configure the wii mote for every game.
      If your wii has gamecube controller ports on it then a gamecube controller will work.

    What happens when you fill up the Wii system memory? It gets stuck on the Wii system manager saying it’s full. I was uncomfortable deleting things without being able to properly uninstall wads.- but I did. I ended up deleting saves and a mystery channel with a question mark with 21 blocks by accident. I deleted 2 channel wads for emulators and got out but I’m worried about getting locked out with a full system. Blocks were not opening up upon deletions. Can I store channels and run them from the Sd card? (From the Wii system settings) I’m hesitant to open the Sd card in Wii system settings... maybe that would open up space. I’ve got to keep an eye on the 200 blocks I have left since I need space for 2 emulators
