  • "HONKY TONK HEART"
our song of love is almost ended...
well i met in you a bar and you looked like a movie star
when we touched i could feel a spark
i was young and foolish too, my friends warned me about you
but i believed in your honky tonk heart
our song of love is almost ended
i can feel us drifting apart
    i won't play second fiddle
to the beat of your honky tonk heart
well we used to feel the same but now one of us has changed
the nightlife isn't my life anymore
what matters most to me is a home and a family
but you can't find that behind those swinging doors
go on back to the bar where i found you
go on back to your so-called second home
you'll feel better with your good time friends around you
and i'll be here but i won't be alone

One of my favorite songs to do the lindy to. Brings back such great memories from the country music of the late 80s & early 90s.

I just found out that they were Country Band Of The Year in both 1987 and 1988. Twas a young lad back then, but such fond memories. Simpler times, much better music.

Hwy101 are in class all by themselves. Yes, broke up now but still their style of country is awesome. No one in Nashville could touch them in their prime. Band is very tight and great talent on lead guitar and pedal steel. Drummer also great . mosrite60

    • @mosrite60
      @mosrite60 Год назад +1

@@lches335 Yes the era of mosrites really started early-mid 60s with Semie Moseley. Ventures used them for several years circa 64-68. Later the company fell apart. But even today mosrites are very popular. Collectors items. But musicians still use them. Very interesting story.

You are so right... However Paulette Carlson and that voice, was the Golden ingredient that made it work... No offense to the lady who they tried to replace her with, but there was no replacing Paulette... Once that was tampered with, it was over...

I agree with victor lopez . The music on today's radio is not worth a flip anymore . One out of ten songs is a good song . The rest of it ( well ) . Who knows what it is ? But it ain't country . So I listen to my playlist on my phone .

I think this song means . She met him in a bar he looked like a movie star . She thought she felt a spark . All her friends warned her about him . But looks can be deceiving . He was looking out for number one . She wants a home and family . She's tired of the night life . But she's not gonna find that with him . But he's got a honky tonk heart . Their song is almost ended .
