This is a great song by a fantastic band. Paulette sang the song of my dear grandma's life. I loved grandpa too, but whiskey always won. With 8 kids during the depression, grandma stayed with her man and leaned on her Lord to get her through. Whiskey had a hold on gramps for most of his life, but somehow they both lived into their 90s and stayed married for 78 years!!!!
Question, country nation & all fans of pop music in general: in the history of popular music, how many charting songs have been explicitly on the subject of alcoholism? Please give me your feedback, as I'm genuinely interested in this question.

A lot of folks miss this kind of country music. Not me, I still have all of my 80's country albums so when I get nostalgic I just put one on the turntable and go back in time.....
Got to see Paulette and Highway 101 while staying at the Wyndham Resort in Nashville. Only about 50 people in the room but she performed like there were thousands. Was able to talk to Paulette and the band after the show. Not only is she extremely talented but she is one of the sweetest and most beautiful women on the planet. Even though we were there to see the Grand Ole Opry, her concert was THE highlight of our trip.

One greatest hit band from 1980s on radio stations. Were are they today. Wish she got Hall of Fame , classic hits songs. I was born downtown Mpls back 1964. Do anyone know still play band today. Truly amazing talented artist and greatest band. Fans enjoy Pure country music sound not junk songs. Classic country music on radio. Grow up Country Music all my life still am today. Some artist cross over to pop love songs from 1980s
Wow I'd forgotten about making this comment. Alcohol took my husband's life in just a few short months. I'm left raising our 13 year old son, alone. If you're an alcoholic PLEASE get help! Don't let that demon win!!
This was true country! Does not get any better than this! I remember when i was a little girl and this song came out on the radio i thought it was about a woman so in love in love with her man that she could could win him over the whiskey if alchohol was a woman she could fight his addiction and win
I know someone who has a beautiful voice and I get to hear him sing at church. He's done Solo pieces and it's so sweet to hear him sing. Thank you PT you know who you are.❤

What the hell happened to the big band country era? I loved all the talent, good harmonies and the singing isn't covered up by 13 guitars and overplayed drums a keys. Oh and all the pedal steel, amazing. Highway 101, Confederate railroad, Kentucky headhunters, Diamond Rio, Asleep at the wheel, etc etc. Music sucks now here in Nashville.
In my past I have experienced some things I am not proud of, but my family hung in there with me. And this particular song from Highway 101 puts such an awesome dot on the exclamation point. God bless.
This should be on the radio instead of what's on now
This is real country music and I miss it very much!!
Highway 101 Needs to be on the radio today.
