Respectfully disagree; if the sketch went in the predictable direction of scenario, professional voice-over, absurd side effects, etc., then we basically log just another amusing health SNL ad.
This quick 'n dirty sketch, which reminds me of OLD skool SNL format (early 80s -- yea I'm over 50 lol), hinges on Shumer as the wife, despite her few lines.
We need to hear how they both attack the critical girlfriends and laugh at the denialism of that couple. I'm happy SNL went minimal here.

They can’t all be pre-recorded videos on a show called “Saturday Night Live.”
I know that the audience that views stuff here has a predisposition for that style of entertainment, I do too. That’s why we’re on RUclips.
Yeah, some of the skits that are recorded ahead of time are the best thanks to the ability to edit and time things in a different way.
At the end of the day, they need to perform live. You can’t save everything for the video-formatted part of the show.
@@dttruman I agree that it's a bad concept, but only for an ad format. Like Kyle Pitts in this thread said, SNL has a live audience too; an absurdly silly Big Penis counseling premise (for insecure guys actually) makes for an equally silly live audience skit, not a prepackaged SNL ad.
For this bit, performances>content, hence the "Live" in SNL.
So that’s where Herschel Walker got the badge.

Just about any sketch that just has Andrew Dismukes rattling off nonsense works for me. It's interesting hearing people talk about when SNL used to be funnier because this reminds me of something they would have done in the '90s or the '00s, although some of those would have been better written.

I thought people who were saying SNL is no longer funny were just angry about the Cold Open making fun of Biden, but now that I've watched a few of the other skits, it does seem that this show struggled a bit.
People have been complaining about how SNL "used to be funny" since season 2. For being so concerned about "originality", they sure keep repeating the same thing over and over.

True! About 10 years ago, Dr. Pepper released 'Dr. Pepper 10' and marketed it towards men. The commercial was hypermasculine, even featuring explosions, and the slogan was literally, "not for women". There're so many other similar ones in marketing! I always thought it was funny how they use the term "manscaping" to make personal grooming seem more manly. Axe's shower poof thing is called a "detailer" and Q-Tip released packaging with the label, "Men's ultimate multi-tool"! 💪😂
You know it's not because of men right? It was a marketing decision since women do not like the optics of drinking diet meaning they thought others might think they are on a diet. Right up there with 99.99 sounds less than 100.00 it's just part of the mental gymnastics people do to justify things.

I'm so freakin' stupid. I watched the whole video and read the comments before realizing the whole premise was that Amy tricked Andrew into joining all those groups by making him think those groups accepted him for being well endowed. Really, she just wanted to fix her husband's problems. Upon watching it again, I am quite amused. 🤭

SNL writers going back to the old skool format of Get in, Get dirty, Get out fast skits. Using an UNO card game(lol), the writers basically sandwich a few dick'onyms in a few minutes under the conceit of guys who THINK they have big penises.
Though I'm not a fan of Shumer as a public figure, she low-key anchors the sketch with her few lines. On paper, the sketch probably looks mildly amusing, but Shumer locks in the laughs -- and success -- of the bit with her physical comedy and delivery. Bravo SNL for this little microwaved chuckle.
