Yeah on a lot they will ask host for input and ideas. That’s why they all broke character on that other sketch about Lisa. He said that the staff should shake the table a lot more and give Lisa a steak with a bone in the so it would be impossible to cut through.

This is the funniest show of SNL I’ve seen in years. No cringe BS, not very political. Seems young cast members are hitting their stride. Host had tons of fun. I have hated most SNL for like 7 or 8 years. This weekends show surprised me

Of course there is gold there, but on the whole, you can see just HOW MUCH comedy has progressed. Once in a while, it's great to have a stupid sketch where the entire concept is low effort "funny voice" comedy. But it only works these days because it stands out against *better*, more interesting and complex comedy. Half of the funniness is waiting for some explanation or punchline, and finding none. It's an anti-joke, because the lack of punchline or context or greater point just never shows up. And that's funny. But back then, when it was all, "IM GAY, LISTEN TO MY FUNNY VOICE" or anything of the sort and there was no expectation that there was anything else behind it...its fuckin tedious and boring

Whoever is about to lose it can’t look anybody in the eye, they have to shift their gaze. They BARELY kept it together! That was the funniest part for me, if they’d easily remained in character I would’ve thought it the skit was was silly but not particularly funny since it’s just the same gag over and over. Don’t know how they held it together so well! When my sisters and I got a case of the giggles at the dinner table, we’d usually lose it. Couldn’t help but laugh if we accidentally made eye contact during the rest of the meal.

The "ohhh, good for mehh" and Pedro trying not to laugh while trying to say "People always" is really what gets me in this skit.
Pedro said some of the cast talked like that on breaks while filming The Last of Us. It kept them sane during the dark scenes.

One of the best in a while. Breaking character with the right people is always great as well. Pedro should win multiple awards somehow for this. SNL glimpse of hope on it's way out, from a hospital bed.
