No doubt that the a&m game told us something about mizzou. And now there's no doubt that the Auburn game will provide even more information. How we play Auburn will give us a good idea as to how well we will do against Oklahoma, SC, Mississippi State, and Arkansas. Not expecting to beat bama unless we can dominate Auburn.
I didn't watch the game till Sunday b/c of Yom Kippur.
Our CB play is bad.
There were at least 6 blown coverages where their QB didn't see the WR, overthrown, or underthrown balls where the WR had to go back for the catch or it would have been TDs.
That's not going to happen against SEC QBs/WRs.
The only CB who played well in limited snaps was Clarke.
Pride has not played well yet in a single game.
What is the problem with the WRs constantly getting past our CBs?
I will probably address this today.

So John, you think Mizzou will be fired up for Auburn? Strictly talking players here, after Hugh Freeze basically said Drink has had to do more with less and that our roster is on the level of Vandy and Kentucky, I'm not saying we're Georgia or Texas level but come on.

I miss the days our basketball program was relevant. Our ceiling being a .500 team this year isn’t cutting it. Dump money into the program so we can be a top 25 team again

We have a chance to be fantastic this year. Maybe the deepest roster in America, no weaknesses, tons of length, athleticism, and versatility 2-4. I'm calling for a 12-6;conference record and a 6 seed. Good luck matching up with Perkins, Robinson, Warrick, Bates, Grill, Crews, Boateng, Pierce, Allen, Mitchell, Shaw, Burns, Marshall, Gray.....thats 14 either quality players or big time talents. Perkins and Robinson both arec going to be good lead guards, Bates may be all conference, Warrick instant offense, Grill and Crews both great shooters and rebounders, Boateng Pierce Allen are all big long athletes with huge potential(I think Pierce emerges this year, Mitchell SEC POY candidate, Shaw will breakout, Burns is 7-5 with a jumper, and then Marshall and Gray are both 7'0 285 pound specimens; Marshall with a lot of skill and Gray one of the best rebounders in America. Seems obvious to me our floor is 9 seed and ceiling is final 4.
Beat a 4-2 Buffalo, 4-2 Boston College, 4-2 Vanderbilt. But truly look absolutely broke of late especially defensively and apparently no one either cares or sees it to fix it. Give me Auburn by 14 or more. Batoon is entirely out of his league in SEC as a defensive coordinator. Moore playbook is tapped out and zero creativity. I don't have any optimism in Missouri anymore. Last year was basically a solid core of NFL great veteran talent and leaders. Now again program looks broke and ultimately that's on Drinkwitz. If anything you expect a team to at least be disciplined and play hard and we see the exact opposite. That's on the coaches and alarming.
"Looks broke" is awfully dramatic for a team that's lost three games in two seasons.
I think it's warranted. I thought last year was Drinkwitz established program. Now I believe it was result of a really solid core of veteran talent and Drinkwitz program is less of 2023 outlier and more all other years. Yea we're ranked for now with a very Charmin schedule but Oklahoma, Arkansas, Alabama, Carolina will all pound us. Auburn should win. Miss state will if they keep improving. You can't honestly tell me you're optimistic after watching this team in year what, 5? Special teams is a disaster. Defense is completely lost. Offense painful minus ground game. Cook is worse in year 5. Basically everyone has regressed and every position. That has to be coaching. When Auburn wins by 2 touchdowns I think you'll see what I mean.
How is Luther Burden?
Drink said "he'll be just fine" on the broadcast, so I'm going with that until I hear otherwise.

they definitely have to play a lot better to win so far they have not played well against better competition. We shall see I do not have any confidence in this team unlike the team last year they had leaders who held players accountable
