Still this bike I think is above its weight class and the brand has a premium product that delivers exactly what the customer is paying for, you get the overall awesome excited experience with the unboxing and you are not let down by the build quality of the product for the price point. I think this bike is a great option for someone who is looking for a high end bike who doesnt want the mainstream side of things

Giant TCR Advanced Pro Frameset is $2500, Cervelo Soloist is $2700, Ritte Esprit is $3K, SL-8 Tarmac Pro is $3500. Point being, I don’t see a compelling reason to buy this particular bike brand. My first SEKA was the Afield I bought it back in 2021 in China when I lived in Shanghai, the bike has now 20k Km on it and is still a solid light weight bike. My second SEKA is the EXCEED 2022, this bike has now 14k Km on it and is also very flaw less. The only issue I have is the seat post clamp design. Newer Exceeds and also the SPEAR have an updated version. If the $3000 is too much I recommend the regular version of the EXCEED. It sells for about the half price to the SPEAR. ✌

I’m getting the feeling Seka are another fake news brand. We have heard stories of people putting deposits on frames down 6 months ago, still no sign of the bike. To be honest I feel partly responsible, I was hyping the bike at EuroBike and fell for the marketing Koolaid that they were going to hit the market running. Must admit I was shocked to see them at that event in the UK, once again hyping the bike … but they don’t seem to have any intention of actually selling it.

I've heard rumors of them having major issues with their factory or lack of factory to actually ramp proper production. Another brand that was heavily marketed was Orro and they even had a showroom five miles from where I live but it was never open. I think they have now gone into liquidation. Makes me wonder if these companies money laundering companies. If your going to pay this sort of money there's some great Chinese brands that can compete.

Thanks for featuring this bike. At that price point, Seka needs to develop way more presence in their target markets. There need to be dealerships, there need to be service centers, there needs to be places to go in case of warranty issues. Maybe they should also offer complete bikes with the partners they need. Only then they can indeed compete with the big brands. Could be they should also sponsor teams.

I think people need to do some testing with seka against mainstream brands.
Like do a hilly, flat route time and speed comparison.
I owned a seka exceed rdc."crashed it " bars turneed and snapped the toptube.
Riding a tarmac sl8 pro. Have had to do alot work to the bike to get it even close to the riding speeds on hills, flats,tt segments and i wouldnt bother comparing sprinting ability between the 2. SEKA wipes that one hands down.
Bike was stiff but compliant as in it would obsorb the shock of rough roads, and harsh bumps not too sure if that was down to the seka handlebars aswell. With multiple choices of wheels and tyres. Thing would corner like a beast aswell especially on decents. Could literally lay it so far over that the tyre would just hold grip.
Sl8 pro seems to be abit more "LABOURING" as in you have to keep driving the crank more. And it has a weird feeling coning into hills almost like your riding into sinking mud. But then once you start forcing it it goes 😅.
Definitely not that good aero wise on a solid TT segment. When you hit the undulating parts in the course its pretty much the sinking mud slow down the have to try sprint it back up to speed. Not the most efficient in a headwind sswell.
Hope someone like GC performance does a head to head vs a couple of other mainstream brands.

One European dealer sells the Seka Spear for €2,900 (standard version) and €3,400 for the RDC, both including handlebars. Another overseas dealer, who I won't name, told me that they are currently removing SEKA from their listings as SEKA have been unresponsive and have not delivered our recent order. Instead I bought the TAVELO Arrow for almost half the price at 1580€ (including handlebars) + 80€ tax.

I think people need to recognize that products like this are not aimed at western markets. That's a large part of the lack of distro transparency to western buyers. Cycling in China is transitioning from a utility to recreational act as the Chinese populace has become more wealthy. Bikes like this are being developed with domestic markets in mind to take advantage of that. Its not meant to compete with establish brands in western markets. And if anything, the fact that westerners still want it despite the price tag only enhances domestic appeal. Because while Chinese consumers with the cash like to flaunt luxury western products. Chinese buyers REALLY like to buy Chinese brands that white westerners are using. That is peak social cred.

Of all the china bikes, Seka is the only one I would happily own and pull up to my local group ride without feeling embarrassed. Seka has marketed their brand well whereas every other china bike looks like they're from Aliexpress due to their stupid names and font.

I got myself a Elves Falath Evo last year. Got 6000km on it sofar.
Tryed getting a Seka Exeed but just like Grant mentioned in the vid.... I am one of many that waited for months and got refunded without any info what so ever.
With Elves i had a Rep i could call, the custom paint guy got back to me within hours of me placeing my order, i got updates how far the production was. After the frame was shiped i asked if i could get a spare direkt mount hanger (there was a normal spare included) i got 2 spare hangers free of charge.
Getting me the new TT Frame next, they have my trust.

What's going to happen when the tariffs kick in next year? I think we are going to move back to time when department store bikes are what people will be riding and all the specialized bikes will be very difficult to get your hands on. What the market looked like the last decade will be gone.

same thing that happened when they were in place before, people forgot and we delt with it then too, companies change there shipping ports and ship them out of different countries, a little more in shipping but nnothing really

these chinese bikes are not compelling unless sold for a 1k. its the same reason people now buy chinese made rims being that they are the same but sold at a fraction of the cost of american marketed chinese rims so unless the bike frames are a fraction of the cost of more reliable American brands they will never compete in the american or european marketplace where prestige and reliability is paramount. Get a brand new complete bike sl7 for 2500 with 105 when the sale hits in a week and that frame is far better than a chinese ripoff seka.
