- In the second year of my MFA, I was working on a big project, all shot with an analog medium format camera, darkroom-printed and made into a photo book.

Beautiful work! Ansel would have been proud of your commitment in the darkroom.
Fantastic video.
I couldn't agree more with your comment that technique comes before idea.
If you don't know how to think you can't have an idea.
The final print being an artefact in its own right, and not just a mere record of an event.
Your work is wonderful, photographing pure light itself and not just an object.
I turned to film this year after a 10 year hiatus and today i developed my first roll at home instead of sending it to the lab. Then dslr scanned the negs and i LOVE my PHOTOS. Film is so much better than digital.
such a beautiful and inspirational work, Lina. thanks for sharing and keep doing a good job!
You're a very gifted printer, I admire your work a lot! (I can empathise with living in the darkroom, I'm completely obsessed with it... 😂)
Great job Lina, very inspiring!
Everything you do has a WOW! factor. You have an amazing talent that is all to rare these days. You are a true photographer, who, as a certain Mr A Adams said about such photographers, 'makes' an image rather than 'takes' an image. I've missed your videos whilst you have been so busy, I always learn so much from them. I wish there were more artists in all branches who shared your philosophy, I hope everything is as successful as you deserve it to be.
Thank you so much!!!!
:)) Dude, you compare Ansel Adams with..who ? Dude, Ansel has invented a tehnique in the darkroom ..tf are you talking about ? :)))
Amazing work! Your channel is so inspirational!
I love your passion!
Lina, congratulations on your tremendous work, very beautiful and inspiring, tell me how I can get a copy of your book. With a nice dedication for me. Hahaha greetings from Chile
My favorite shot of yours has to be the shadow of the chair.
Greta job, Lina!
Great job! Long live the darkroom! :D
Adorable
Great 👍
Beautiful images. The book has its own nice rythm too . The only thing I would change is the speed of going through the book. I had to pause for every page and that takes tool on the perception. Otherwise congratulations and keep on the good work!
Thank you! You're right, I should have slowed down a bit!
Long expectation perfect result
nice stuff. interested in what you said about printing, the only way I can be more subjective about my work is printing it, it has no meaning otherwise on a computer screen. i would've been the same and ignored the advise given by others too; although even if it gets all terribly expensive, i still do it.
Thanks so much for sharing!
Is your photo book still available and if yes, where? Thanks for sharing your impressing and inspiring work!
That is nice book Girl!
good work!
Finally another movie. You are a sweetheart. Can you add more videos with a classic photo technique tutorial? I love watching you! Kisses :-*

Hi Lina,
I have to completely disagree with some of the points that you are making in this video (which is absolutely fine because everyone is free to think what they will). I think you are extremely biased towards printing and almost downgrading photography as a craft.
Let me elaborate myself, l quote you: ''I strongly believe in technique before idea's'', doesn't that go against creative thinking? I think one shouldn't think about technique at all, I think one should try to figure things out by themselves and from there grow your technical abilities.
Secondly, you state that the printing phase is more important than the photography phase... Really? I think its quite the opposite too. A great image on a bad print will still be a great image, a great print with a bad image will still be a bad image.
Apart from that: Great channel, alot of quality content, thank you very much.
Everything I say is absolutely personal, extremely biased, based on my experiences and personality. I find it really beautiful to have a multitude of opinions and no single right way. Everyone finds a work and belief system of their own... as long as the result is good, who cares what's behind it! Along with Ansel Adams one of my favorites is William Klein, who barely knew how to print (at least in his early days). And yet his imagery was mindblowing.
Thank you for the comment and for your questions!
