The destruction of Sindri was the single most painful part of this game for me. Seeing him still dirty days after Ragnarok was what hit me the hardest, seeing the most fastidious character inundated with his own brother’s blood cut deep
it's especially horrible when you realize the reason he wanted to be so clean is because of how sensitive his skin became after his experience in pulling Broks soul back.
i think something that makes it all worse, haunting sindri even more, is brok’s soul can never truly rest. he died by odin with not his complete soul, missing that part that directs the soul to hel, vallahalla, or light of alfiem. so brok is just forever lost and sindri cant do anything about it
Brok would be ashamed of Sindri using his death as an excuse to sever his ties with everyone. The sad thing is, I think Sindri knows, but he doesn't care anymore.
Not only that but Sindri is probably feeling self guilt because he knows that he’s the reason Brok has no afterlife and if he didn’t save him from the lake of souls he wouldn’t feel this pain and Odin wouldn’t have been able to kill brok
Thats what I luv about Kratos and Mimir's relationship. At first Kratos just kept calling him head but over the 3 year timeskip its shown they have become friends since then and calls Mimir by his name now as Mimir calls Kratos by his name. Mimir is like the voice of reason by Kratos side helping him make the right decisions.
Crying over a video game character, imagie being this much of a waste. Is your life this, gaming? Nothing more, have you never achieved anything outside gaming? Do you think anyone has ever been proud of you? Think more about your life you get 80 years on this planet. how much have you used and how much do you have left?
@@bunyiphunter7280 I agree with one caveat. If a person sees something in any media form & something in their life to family or friends has happened that reminds of that occurrence in the game I would say they may have justification, this can happen with some of the strangest times & is due to simply being reminded. However anyone simply crying because of a fictional character in a video game with no real life connection really need to get a grip because a real life event is going to be rough.
Be aware if you like a character and a game starts to reveal backstory and include him a lot more all of a sudden, that's what you'd call a 'death flag'. The writers want to get all the content out for the viewer to get attached before they kill the character off. Writers were like you know Brok has a girl dwarf friend that he goes way back. They make a good pair right? He's so excited to see the Lady aint he. Oh no. Such a sad backstory preventing him from being seen by her. Oh. He's being so useful while also being kind of funny. Guess what. He's dead. Huh? Players liked him? Oh noooo ha haha hahaha.
@@hireikana18 i think he is just grieving. If you notice during Odin's defeat, Sindri doesn't appear until after everyone made their decision of whether to spare him. He was probably watching the entire time so if he didn't outright steal the opportunity to kill Odin from Freya means he isn't completely blinded by grief
@@johnychrist2559 also, freya already did the whole "friend turned enemy due to loss" thing. Closing your heart off to your friends completely is a better way to do grief without coming off as a redundant character type in the game. I personally think he may never return. But he won't take actions against anyone. His target is dead, now he wants to suffer in solitude for something he caused.
@@sighdeathwatson3909 it would be an interesting twist i think if Freya was able to forgive Kratos for being the one to literally snap her sons neck, but Sindri isn't able to forgive Altrues or Kratos for "allowing" his brother to die and is consumed by rage
We put together all the main side quest missions we didn't do in the main game movie, postgame specific quests and events into one video. There's so much side content in the side quests that it deserves its own story game movie video. This is a companion piece to the main game movie. There is no overarching narrative here like the main game, just exploring the world and dealing with the aftermath of Ragnarok. We love God Of War Ragnarok and believe it will get game of the year. Let us know if you enjoy this type of video, this is the first time we've ever tried a postgame "game movie." If you like it, we can start doing it for future open world games where a "postgame game movie" makes sense. We hope you enjoy the video!
@@Arvynm Tough to say since we didn't do all of them before we triggered the ending of the main quest. Postgame-only quests aren't too many, there's the Tyr stuff and healing the land stuff. Plus interactions that only happens post-game, like seeing what characters are doing after Ragnarok. But most of them are just sidequest that could have done before the game ended.
This should definitely get game of the year, Elden ring is the only game that's close to this, and the hot mess of a plot it has compared to this is the deciding factor.
I like how you can tell that ever since, whoever was playing to get all this footage, discovered the spear it has been their favorite weapon and they use it almost exclusively in every fight.
It shows him being better, since the first time Freya met his wolves kratos simply barked orders at the wolves and Freya comments that they are matted and need to be brushed, and he just says, "they're wolves." But now he realizes the relationship that atreyus has with the wolves, since Loki is now gone on his new path and left, he promised to keep Atreyus in his heart while Loki goes. That means tending and bonding with the wolves he cares for in place of his son 😭💜
That would be impossible. As Mimir said, once a soul's "Direction" is severed from its corporeal form, it is no longer able to go back to the Lake of Souls. When Sindri retrieved Brok's soul long ago, the "Direction" of Brok's soul was severed, thus making it impossible for his soul to go into the Lake of Souls. And since it cannot go back to the lake, it had nowhere to go except disappear entirely, ceasing to exist.
I just find it all a little disappointing that he couldn't have appeared much sooner, instead of AFTER the main story was already done. all seems like a bit of a letdown to me, not seeing the REAL tyr get to show his stuff when the time came.

47:18 Fun fact: Mimir talks about Kratos fighting in Mortal Kombat 9 since he was an extra DLC character. Also another fun fact (theory): Kratos’ transformation from a bloodthirsty Spartan to a calmer figure can be attributed to his participation in Mortal Kombat 9. There, Kratos was able to learn how to manage his anger, rage, and aggression, leading to the version of Kratos we see now. Ultimately, the credit goes to Raiden and Fujin for their part in Kratos’ transformation.
Ha, Freyr’s story of how he ended up in the Lake of Souls. “He had fortified himself with a lot of Venir herbs. When he wandered, he *wandered*.” So his tale of uniting the Elves sounds like a tale from “The Hangover”. A man gets so high, he achieves world peace and becomes a god in the eyes of others.
Hraesvelg telling kratos and mimir all but "f*** off" is a funny interaction lol. you could just feel her saying "YOUR son helped open them! The audacity to think you're getting a reward!" lmao
15:40 So holy shit i finally figured it out. So the giant snake atreus put the gaint soul into after they fought Angrboda's grandmother actually grew to be Jörmungandr
I just found one where if you go to Freyr’s camp and talk to Birgir after you went to Freya’s house, you can go back to the house and find Birgir inside. There’s even dialogue where Freya talks to Kratos about finding someone who would look after her turtle permanently
25:42 This. This right here is the funniest fuckin' interaction I've seen. I can just imagine Kratos bein' all flustered n' shit, and it's funny as hell to me.
One thing that saddened me about this game was its lack of dragons.. I mean sure there are a ton of lesser dragons but after the fight with the deformed one in 2018 and seeing fafnir and baldurs dragon I REALLY wanted to see how a full power dragon would be
I was pleading for the video of the playthrough to not end, even in its last minute. I am glad I found this one to give me nearly 3 hours more of God of War.
3:03 this scene hurt my soul. Kratos never really had anyone like Brok he could truly call a friend or brother(other than his own). Someone he trusted without question. Someone , though unorthodox , that actually had his back. Brok and Mimir , though flawed , are true friends/brothers to Kratos. That is why their counsel matters so much to him.
God of war ragnarok is without a doubt 1 of the best games I have ever played and I've played a lot of games. Only one thing I wish I could see and that's peace for Sindri I mean if that story had to go that way I wish their was friendship restored between Sindri & our heroes
Yup. In Norse mythology, Loki is the father of the World Serpent, so they managed to include that here too, with Atreus being the one to "give him life".
@@jor4114 I appreciate they didn't do Loki weird about the shape shifting thing in this.. cause you probably know in mythology how a shape shifting god goes about having a child with a snake... ☠️☠️ Same goes for a wolf.. and a horse(slepnir)... Loki in real mythos got some problems ☠️
You know i was feeling a little frustrated that this channel didnt complete a lot of these side quests with atreus. But i came to understand that of course its much easier to record the entire main story without side quests, and hearing freya's input on some of the quests instead of atreus is actually pretty intriguing. Epsecially when it involves Vanaheim
With Mimir's 3 doors riddle, my answer was the door with the lions but for a different reason. If those lions were still alive and you had food with you, if you feed them, they would most likely become nice to you, for giving a meal to a starving animal is an effective way to gain a bond, or subservience if you wish it.
In real world that actually wouldn't happen because well the lion's would simply kill you... But you're talking about the games so yeah like the wolves they too would be appreciated.
This game wouldn't put something so suspiciously like a figure in the background of a cinematic scene like that, and it would totally make sense! Atreus knows Sindri hasn't forgiven him yet, so I can definitely see him making the decision that respects both him and Brok. In fact, I thought it was out of character for him to not be at the funeral.
It is high inappropriate for Loki to not waiting to pay respect to Brok at the funeral before setting out to his journey. Would it kill him to wait a couple days, is it THAT urgent? In fact he barely mentioned Brok post gameGiven their long relationship, Brok's contributions to their past journeys and Loki's inadvertent role in Brok's murder, this omission is morally inappropriate in all levels. Simply Unjustifiable . You know... if you accidentally f someone over, the least thing you could do is to at least attend their funeral. Even Freya made time to come, he got no excuse.
Completely understand brotha, it's been very frustrating for us as well. Trying another reupload right now and waiting a day or 2 to see if it processes. If it does we'll post that one and privatize the other. If it doesn't work, honestly just have to take the L on this one and use it as a learning lesson for ourselves, that over 24 hours might just be too much for RUclips to handle consistently
Idk which was a more painful video game death, cayde-6 or brok, they both were a cheerful and upbringing part of both those games, we can replay the games but they both will be missed and remembered forever
The fact that you didn't try to light the 2 embrasures on the dam brings me great pain. One day I will have to get this game and play it just to light them.
I wish they'd had told Sinmara of Surtur. It may have given her some peace, that Kratos would tell her that Surtur did what he did purely out of love for her. He was truly good, a good person, a good character. I heard there was a nixed side quest that had you searching for Surtur and Sinmara's hearts after Ragnarok. If their hearts survived, they could've been revived so they could've finally been together in peace. Aah, but maybe I'm just an old romantic.
When Kratos was mourning Brock; that made me cry. If Brok and Thor would have survived I truly believe that they would all be lifelong friends. Thor respected Kratos the second he fucked around with him when he was the All-Fucker's lap dog and knew he could kill him at any time, which answers why he treated Atreus with respect. Maybe he was secretly regretting not being more restrained with his sons like Kratos. Magi and Modi were little shits though.
The journey for the Giants wasn't THAT high of priority in terms of urgency. Considering their relationship and his role of inadvertently inviting Odin into Sindri's home, he couldn't have waited a short while for the funeral before setting out? Infact he seemed to completely forgot about his role in Brok's murder after beating the game. It's irresponsible and inconsiderate no matter how you look at it.
@@qcop4921 considering he still felt sindri directly blames him for the same reasons you stated, I think it's safe to say he wanted sindri to have a little peace at his brothers funeral without the chance of a fight happening over Atreyus being there.
Odin seems like a very typical mob-boss type, then you get to that damn raven tree and see that he was willing to go THAT far. Still wish i knew how he survived his own hanging.
Thanks for the video it's cool they added story after the main campaign. Brok will be back or at least they already set him up to come back. Sindri literally tells you at one point that he couldn't get all of Broks soul from the light well. So that means a piece of his soul is still in there from when he previously tried to bring him back from the dead but we'll see if they use that loophole to bring him back again. I imagine it would make for a sick quest having Kratos defy death again.
I can see Kratos becoming a one God (capital g) after taking down the rest of the pantheons and leaving reality. The Giants painting looks like him ascending higher. Would be fun for some people to call any gods who become allies to Kratos as angels

“He had fortified himself with a lot of Venir herbs. When he wandered, he *wandered*.”
So his tale of uniting the Elves sounds like a tale from “The Hangover”. A man gets so high, he achieves world peace and becomes a god in the eyes of others.
I don't remember that part in The Hangover
This is the movie I didn't know I *NEEDED!!!!!*
Dig that. I came here for blood, guts, gore, and glory. After watching this and the 15+hr game, I got a heaping pike of wholesomeness. 🥺
Hraesvelg telling kratos and mimir all but "f*** off" is a funny interaction lol. you could just feel her saying "YOUR son helped open them! The audacity to think you're getting a reward!" lmao
God of War 2018 - BOY!!
God of War 2022 - BROTHA'!
Also, "Hmmph" Kratos grunting heavy in Ragnarok lol
@@glp intesified in rag but much in gow 4
15:40 So holy shit i finally figured it out. So the giant snake atreus put the gaint soul into after they fought Angrboda's grandmother actually grew to be Jörmungandr
I just found one where if you go to Freyr’s camp and talk to Birgir after you went to Freya’s house, you can go back to the house and find Birgir inside. There’s even dialogue where Freya talks to Kratos about finding someone who would look after her turtle permanently
Thank you so much for this. An amazing story in an amazing game, presented amazingly. Made my week.
God of War Ragnarok is so good, they added a day 1 dlc at no extra cost built in for after the main story.
25:42
This. This right here is the funniest fuckin' interaction I've seen. I can just imagine Kratos bein' all flustered n' shit, and it's funny as hell to me.
Wow what a beautiful soundtrack this game has.. hits you in the soul.. 6:00 😭
Just finished you 15 hr video. One would think I'm tired out because of it but I'm very delighted to see there's nearly 3 hrs more of this!!!
So glad you did this! Just finished the movie last night and was looking for mor this morning!
Thanks for watching!
One thing that saddened me about this game was its lack of dragons.. I mean sure there are a ton of lesser dragons but after the fight with the deformed one in 2018 and seeing fafnir and baldurs dragon I REALLY wanted to see how a full power dragon would be
Ratatoskr has got to be one of my favorite characters
I was pleading for the video of the playthrough to not end, even in its last minute. I am glad I found this one to give me nearly 3 hours more of God of War.
What if the Next God of War game is Sindri raging war on Gods and Giants…
What if...indeed!
Literally was hoping you guys would show some gameplay after the storyline. Thank you so much for this!
Give it time, the wounds are still fresh.
Almost 3 hours more of coverage. Thank you.
So you meant to say that the snake that atreus gave a soul to in ironwood was the world serpent
Yup. In Norse mythology, Loki is the father of the World Serpent, so they managed to include that here too, with Atreus being the one to "give him life".
@@jor4114 yup same goes for Fenrir too... Just one missing and that's hel
Im glad im not the only one that has to obsessively detonate the draupnir spear after combat
32:43 some advanced berserker battle tactics right there.
Our favorite gal: ‘He’s got it in him, he just needs some discipline to bring it out’
Kratos: *chuckles* ‘I like you.’
great choice ending the game on the ravens being freed
37:20 So it is also Greek tradition that the recent two GOW games have been "filmed" in one-takes.
Thought I cried enough during this game, but Sindri at Brok’s funeral…oof 🥺🥺🥺
broks funeral is the real ending of the game
and i think most would agree
Kratos calling Mimir Brother was powerful.
Agreed.
There's no after life for Brock.
Me if I were Brock: Whew... What a relief!
I watch movies via "new rockstars" and I play video games via "gamer's little playground"
I am so happy that Kratos has a little community of friends now. His days as a loner are finally over!
about Medusa strats, Kratos shoulda said he didn't have a mirror
17:03 this where Hela supposedly stepped in to replace Hraesvelgr
11:32 that has to be the most normal Kratos has ever sounded. It's so damn weird....
When Mimir finally figured out Broks riddle...that hit deep.
We finally get chuckles out of Kratos. It's a good time to be alive.
Thank you for this I lose all inspiration to do this stuff after the story is over.
The whole story was brilliant cant wait for next game
Raising a Guinness to you, GLP! Thanks so much!
Am I crazy, but at 6:17 on our right top cliff (Sindri's left), could that be Atreus sitting and watching from afar?
I think It's a plant
This game wouldn't put something so suspiciously like a figure in the background of a cinematic scene like that, and it would totally make sense! Atreus knows Sindri hasn't forgiven him yet, so I can definitely see him making the decision that respects both him and Brok. In fact, I thought it was out of character for him to not be at the funeral.
Why im crying when Freya cuts Gna
It is high inappropriate for Loki to not waiting to pay respect to Brok at the funeral before setting out to his journey. Would it kill him to wait a couple days, is it THAT urgent? In fact he barely mentioned Brok post gameGiven their long relationship, Brok's contributions to their past journeys and Loki's inadvertent role in Brok's murder, this omission is morally inappropriate in all levels. Simply Unjustifiable . You know... if you accidentally f someone over, the least thing you could do is to at least attend their funeral. Even Freya made time to come, he got no excuse.
Man this game is Sooooo good. I literally ended it yesterday and I’ve been feeling so empty. Nothing will come close 😢😢😢
Dude. Exact same here. This game made me tear up multiple times. I’m not ready to say goodbye, but there is nothing left to do 😢
Hey do you guys have any idea when your walkthrough of the game will process to HD? Not complaining or anything just curious.
@@glp Ohh... Well I hope the new one does! And yeah totally understandable if that's too long for a process to HD.. Thanks for responding.
@Pickle Rick Nah I'm pretty relaxed & don't mind waiting which is why I said I wasn't complaining. Thanks for the info tho.
Kratos is a beefcake, officially confirmed by dwarf lady 😂
Kratos being surprised by Faye being mad at thor is wild when Kratos was so mad he escaped hell 3 times then destroyed all of greece.
21:25 finally Kratos Laughs ❤❤❤
Idk which was a more painful video game death, cayde-6 or brok, they both were a cheerful and upbringing part of both those games, we can replay the games but they both will be missed and remembered forever
i love doing as many quests with freya as possible. i only do the quests with the boy i cant avoid.
Thank you so much for uploading this, lore and stuff like this are my favorite parts.
Still so heartbroken about Sindri :(
The fact that you didn't try to light the 2 embrasures on the dam brings me great pain. One day I will have to get this game and play it just to light them.
When brock died and sindri died inside, I did too.
That's when you know you've made a great game, god damn it hurts.
21:30 A certified Kratos chuckle
Magi and Modi were little shits though.
i just completed the 15 hour vid and now theres even more i mean truly this game is the gift that keeps on giving
Imagine the brute power in Thor's hit sent a world serpent *BACK IN TIME* say what you want but that's an POWERFUL HIT
Why didn't Atreus come to Brok's funeral?
He was on his own journey searching for the giants. When Kratos returned, they told him about Brok being laid to rest.
Maybe he felt he was unwelcome
@@qcop4921 considering he still felt sindri directly blames him for the same reasons you stated, I think it's safe to say he wanted sindri to have a little peace at his brothers funeral without the chance of a fight happening over Atreyus being there.
Odin seems like a very typical mob-boss type, then you get to that damn raven tree and see that he was willing to go THAT far. Still wish i knew how he survived his own hanging.
Well the journal scene makes much scene in the Valhalla DLC, he's writing down his journey for his boy while he's off to his own adventure
Kratos avoids talking about the Mortal Kombat tournament
So, the real Týr was the Kratos we made along the way. ;)
I can see Kratos becoming a one God (capital g) after taking down the rest of the pantheons and leaving reality. The Giants painting looks like him ascending higher. Would be fun for some people to call any gods who become allies to Kratos as angels
It's really funny to me that Freya lives in a Venusaur
Is there an extra cutscene that happens when you beat the game 100%?
im sad they gave brok a vicking funeral without the rest of his soul.. he wont even be given an afterlife in that state
