My 76 year old frail mother, who has COPD, started walking on a treadmill for 30 minutes, 3 days a week, and after a number of months she was able to increase her time to 45 minutes. She walked at a snails pace. She went to a facility where they monitored her heart rate and O2 Saturation the whole time. Then the amazing thing happened. She went from needing oxygen all day, everyday, and at night to only using it while she sleeps. She could not do much of anything and was very depressed. Now she can do her chores and go places with my dad. Today she is planting flowers.

I started lifting back in October for the main goal of losing body fat. I wasn't very consistent and didn't see any results but then at the end of January I became more consistent and have seen much better results! I also went back and listened to all of your podcasts from the past few years to gain even more knowledge to incorporate in my everyday life. As an overweight 36 year old woman, I am so thankful for your podcast, advice and wisdom! Keep up the great work and thank you all for everything that you do!

Congrats on being more consistent! We’re close in age. One tip is be flexible as long as your consistent. My work makes it hard to keep same times and days week to week. But if I’m on a 3x week plan I just make sure to get those in when most convenient. I used to get so down if I couldn’t stick to a hard schedule. I’ve even gone down to 2 full body’s a week and made progress. The wealth of info in the MP podcasts are a game changer.

I've greatly reduced cardio, focusing on getting 1 g of protein per pound of body weight, and resistance training 3-4 days per week following MAPS programs. As a 50-year-old woman, I find it hard to get enough calories every day. I feel like I've stuffed myself all day and yet have only had 1100-1200 calories by the end of the day. Thank You MIND PUMP!

The reverse diet is something that really takes a good while for clients to completely wrap their heads around. It took me awhile as well....
The best way I've learned to explain it to them, is that restricting/lowering calories is the weight LOSS mindset..
but focusing on actually eating more (natural whole foods), re-calibrates all your hormones, metabolism, and overall Immune Function....thus making it a weight Optimization mindset.
We get all tied up into thinking we need to just lower the number, and somehow the lower the number the better. Where as weight optimization allows one to find out their body's true natural healthy weight. Thank you guys for consistently bringing this up. 🙏

I am someone who never posts or comments on social media because it's just not my thing, but this podcast has been making a difference in my life since I stumbled on it just over a month ago, so I wanted to let you guys know. Listening to your stories of when you were "young and dumb" trainers just "trying to make a sale" takes me back to when I started dating my husband who has a similar workout/training journey as you all. I listen to you while I lift weights or walk on the treadmill and find myself smiling and laughing out loud in the gym at 4am. People probably think I'm crazy! We are now 38 with kids, left CA a few years ago because of the craziness, and have similar political views, theories, etc., so I find you all so relatable! The only difference between you guys and my husband is that I am listening to your training advice. Every time the hubs has tried to train me in the past, I ended up yelling at him. I am impatient, type-A, and have never had any extra "fluff" until my second daughter was born 5 years ago. Since then, I've been cycling on and off with working out, and this is the last time that happens. I got my butt in gear 5 weeks ago trying to get ready for summer, and every time I get a little down because I'm not seeing the progress fast enough, Mind Pump refocuses me and reminds me that I'm doing the right things- getting enough sleep, focusing on protein, reverse dieting, lifting heavy instead of relying on cardio... the body recomp has begun, and I want to thank you guys for entertaining me, keeping me in check, and reminding me consistently to not fall back on cutting calories and cardio to get to the body I want.

You guys are the best!! Honestly I felt like I’ve already won. I have gone through 3 pregnancies and prior was in the best shape of my life…but I worked hard meaning I was running fasted every morning and doing a full body free weight session with a million reps and itty bitty weights…it was time consuming-which is why it is unsustainable for me now with little kids. I have been listening to your pod and why it was hard to mentally feel safe to keep calories high and focus on lifting. I have been doing that. I’m kind of floating on my own though and would love the MAPS shred bundle. I appreciate you guys!!

The very first thing I would address for the new beginner who wants to make a serious change in their life, whether it be losing fat or building muscle is to prepare your mind. If you don't, you will find multiple excuses for quitting. My advice for both men and women - stop worrying about the young folks who stare at you. They are beginners too. They are not laughing at you but they find it admirable that you are there trying to better yourself. I have been working out for over 50 years and I find it admirable when a woman or man who is over weight finally got brave enough to save their own lives. The few who do laugh are inexperienced fools themselves who won't last in the gym. Yes men do admire the women there. But the majority will not waste their time chasing you because they are there on a mission just like you. For the older men and women - ignore the looks from the young who are just either admiring you or worried about you hurting yourself if you are inexperienced. Also ask questions if you are not sure about how to do an exercise. Finally, do not waste time doing too much small talk with people. They are not there to socialize all day.

I really appreciate that you guys take into account lowering the risk for injury as a very big importance. So many times I see in many beginner programs with exercises that are intimidating and a ton of exercises that need to be preformed for the days. Sometimes I even get discouraged because I’m not able to finish all exercises. I like that you focus on realistic goals and the 15 minutes a day to build up the habit. I think the biggest problem for me not being able to stay consistent is that other beginners programs set unrealistic goals with exercises I’m not ready to perform. I will definitely be using your tips to build a consistent habit!! I can always count on guys for the most real gym advice 🤍 Thank you!!

Over the years, I have gained a lot of weight and work out off and on. I have six children and my goals have changed from weight loss to being a good example for my children. Your podcast has been such an encouragement and is keeping me on track with my fitness. Thank you for all you do!

Big yes on the snatch grip deadlift. I do my first sets up to about 315 with snatch grip. Then I switch to conventional for the heavier sets, which makes it feel lighter. I've turned on a few people to the snatch grip deadlift at my gym, and I see every one of those people still doing it years later. It's a great variation of the lift that 99% of deadlifters never try... or even know about it.

Wow, Mind Pump, I can't even express how much your podcast has impacted my life. Your episodes have taught me so much about health and fitness, and have motivated me to make positive changes in my lifestyle. I remember the first time I listened to one of your episodes, I was blown away by the depth of knowledge and expertise you guys have. It's incredible how you break down complex topics into easy-to-understand concepts, and your ability to deliver it in a fun and entertaining way is just remarkable.
One episode that really resonated with me was when you talked about the importance of frequency but managing intensity on different days in achieving fitness goals. Before listening to that episode, I never realized how much the intensity and junk volume were affecting my progress in the gym.
I can't thank you enough for the invaluable knowledge you share with your listeners, and I hope you continue to inspire and educate people all over the world. Keep crushing it!
