Capcom made it very clear RE7 was getting single player focused dlc as it launched with a season pass back in 2017. RE2 Remake's Ghost Survivors was likely originally intended to be included with the game at launch. So Capcom gave it to us for free in a patch. As for RE3 Remake, it desperately needed dlc, but it got nothing as Capcom was pushing hard the multiplayer only game Resistance. So, I'm not hopeful that RE Village will get single player focused content either. I'd like to see the big 3 way war between Chris' forces, Miranda's abominations, and the BSAA BOW soldiers that was cut. But yeah, Capcom is trying to turn RE into another yearly annualized milking like Activision with CoD. That often doesn't lead to good games. And I agree, Mercenaries is pretty much a joke in Village. Better off playing RE5 and RE6's mercenaries.
Say what you will about Moreau, but the fact you can find him crying, eating cheese and watching a romance movie really gives him a special place in my heart
Moreau IS the best Part of the Game i liked His Part very much and Just Like the Doll maker House was way to Short and could have been better than the boring Castle Part, that lasted way too Long over 2 hours in Castle compared to the 1 hour in the Doll maker house.all good parts of the Game where way too Short.😔
Nah. DOOMguy doesn't get his shit pushed in every two seconds. The awesome death scenes monsters can inflict on you in DOOM don't happen unless you die. Ethan gets carved up on the regular but it only affects him when the plot retcons how the Mold works so he can't Jack Baker his way into fighting Miranda as a big goo monster.
@@Vulgarth1 bet doom guy loses his bunny - anger forced in doom guy kills some twin brother lookin uhhh - death forced in doesn’t follow orders - entire doom plot forced somehow knows how to fire a plasma gun yes, some stuff in doom seems forced 😳😳😳😳
I liked Chris in Village. A common side effect of steroids is lower cognitive functions, so now that he's back on the juice it makes sense for him to not be as smart as in 7.
I was so scared by the noises it made I didn't see the baby until I made it on the elevator back up. Even watching it I get the same uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach, I've played horror games for as long as I can remember and that is one moment that will definitely stick with me for a long time.
Unfortunately, my friend called me about it before I got to that point in the game. He asked me if I minded a "very small" spoiler and to his credit I said no, and then proceeded to tell me about the giant meat baby in a dollhouse. While the anticipation for seeing it was high, I gotta say I think I missed the feeling everyone else got.
What I wanna know is what the hell was Chris’ squad doing while Ethan was taking out the lords one by one, alone?? They apparently spent years doing recon on this place, and Ethan just storms in and brute forces it in like a day, ALONE.
well.... Chris' squad isn't made of mold. If their hand or leg gets cut off then they are mostly like done for. Ethan suffers from a lot of injuries from both games that would normally be fatal for anyone. Ethan isn't normal though.
It was because the van Ethan was in for some reason was taking them to the exact place they didn't want to be whole the rest of the squad took the slow train.
I think the reason why the serum didn’t work from Ethan is because when it came to mia and the bakers they were alive when they got infected. But when it came to Ethan he was killed and then the mold brought him back to life, so maybe that’s why it works differently.
I REALLY REALLY hope they don’t bring Ethan Back he had a badass way to go and is def a memorable character it would throw it all to waste if he came back cause of video game magic
@@BARDI77 only thing that pissed me off was the fact that his last scene didn't give him a face reveal as the camera followed rose's grabbing his cheek or nose as a father of a 2 year old I was waiting for that scene but it never came ... I was already upset at that point but if that actually happend it would have killed me off
@@BARDI77 yeah but at the end it says that the father's story is complete. At most I can see Ethan show up as like consciousness figure with Rose. Maybe just helping her mentally why she tries to deal with whatever bs
It still makes Chris pretty unlikable when his unbelievable stupidity literally gets the player character killed. (Still, I've never seen anything redeeming about Chris in any game and he's still got his fans so what do I know?)
@@Robert399 Hate to see what your idea of a protagonist is 😂 I guess in this fictitious world you’d do better? Or is it because Chris has a payness and you’re one of those new age trans-vesticles or whatever they call em? 😂 either way I’m a fan of classic RE so I wipe my ass with your opinion which frankly at this point has become somewhat conflated.
I really liked Moreau and Heisenberg as characters. Moreau is truly a tragic and sad character who you can tell truly just seeks approval of Mother Miranda and the “no no no no no” note really hit with me. Heisenberg is really interesting too because he’s basically fed up with Miranda and doesn’t seem to worship her like the other characters do and just calls her “Miranda.” Side note: A lot of people complain about the factory but it’s by far my favorite area of the game with the engaging enemies and how they change up your approach and especially the Wolfenstein reboot/ Frankensteins army designs and I liked maneuvering around dangerous equipment. Not sure why the hate but I loved it.
I felt really bad for Moreau, he gets bullied even in the puppets commercials, lol. Donna was also manipulated by Miranda, and we dont know what Miranda did to Heisenberg for him to be so mad at her... I think Lady D is the only true evil of the lords.
@@Jose-se9pu I think Heisenberg hates Miranda because she stole him away from his family, experimented on him and put him under her will. He’s basically trap in the village, at least until Miranda is dead. Lady D is not bad too. She’s just a suck-up in some way. But considering how Miranda gave her a castle, 3 daughters, and powers, Lady D would not wanted to disrespect Miranda.
I think the factory was alright. It had a great sense of grandure but it kind of got slow. I thought fighting the bull robots in the dark was terrifying, as they slowly walked towards you, though.
@@charlesluikart1799 slow? I feel the opposite it was the speediest part of the game for me mostly because of its super linear design and the only backtracking you really do is going back to the foundry to make the molds. It’s more action centric and linear and I think it worked well in that regard. I’m glad you enjoyed parts of it though.
I think that far better explanation of why didn't Chris say Ethan anything would be if Chris knew that Ethan is actually molded. That way the would want to keep secrets from Ethan in case he is telepatically connected to Megamycete, as they would not want to alert Miranda.
@@a.jordan9288 well we can assume Ethan knows it since he was talking to Jack via telepathy and of course Mia could know that since she was part of Evelyn research team. And therefore they could have told Chris
I figured it was just"The mold mind controls people. Miranda uses the mold. Assume Ethan is controlled by Miranda." If they tell Ethan, "Hey we're coming to shoot your wife, don't freak out." He might just tell Miranda.
Would explain so much about his behavior too, treating Ethan like a dick throughout every encounter up until the end. I think whole script was written that way, with Chris, who spent his life fighting BOWs now has one up in his face demanding answers and to be treated as a person. Would make ending more effective too with Chris seeing a fuckin Licker go through hell and death only to save a little child. If only that scene with Mia wasnt thrown in for the audience's sake
I’m Romanian and I love how accurate the dishes, villages and over all culture is in this game! They did their research on this game (also yes there is a castle in Romania that resembles Lady D’s castle it’s really cool)
My assumption about the "Ethan is special" line is just that his DNA interacts with the mold in a unique way, just like Wesker's DNA interacts with the T-Virus in a unique way. It's just a genetic jackpot sort of thing.
i love when all of them are in the meeting in the beginning and then angie and moreau are being annoying and then heisenberg is like " SHUT THE F**** UP" ITS SO FUNNY
i think it's because he's just a guy. He's just a guy who accidentally got himself in all this mess and is just fed up with everyone and everything, dude loves his family so much he killed the Bakers all by himself to save Mia and then went for these semi-gods when they took Rose. He's not a trained agent like the other charas and yet he went through hell twice to protect the people he loves. Biggest chad ever
@@ohsock.5501I think one of the best examples of how determined Ethan is would be him powering through having his heart ripped out to get Rose back. For emphasis, that is a wound that is, even within RE's monster catalog, an absurdly fatal wound. That would have dropped a Tyrant. He should have crystallized on the spot, but no. Pure fatherly determination.
The music that plays during the Chris Redfield village run section is absolute fire. Felt like a cross between a John Carpenter movie and opening the flood gates of bioterror hell.
Anyone else noticed how the quality of the assets, lighting and landscape drops for the post credits scene? Even going as far as reusing face models and apparently sherry's model. Makes me think it might've been a late addition to the game. And yeah, the BSAA using BOW soldiers worries me. I hope they don't go full RE6 again. As for the game itself, it quickly became one of my favorites in the series. I thought the story was ok at first but after a few playthrough like it a lot, it's not great but it's good enough to get a strange sense of attachment to the cast as you get more and more familiar with it. I would've liked to spend a bit more time with the Lords, specially Moreau, i was hoping for something more lovecraftian looking during his section, but they are fine as it is. The Duke is the best character. Gameplay is great, exploration and the bonus unlockables are some of my favorites. Mercenaries is great until it isn't. But it was worth it, i love the LZA. I'm really happy with this game, i love it but i still can't shake the feeling that there's something missing. So i hope we get as much dlc as we got with 7.
The was a whole lot of content cut out, the bsaa was gonna be more involved by having them part of a 3 way war between them, chris and his team and the lycans. Chris's section was also gonna be much longer with the player playing as each member of the squad too.
@@Rachel-96 oh yeah, that too. I loved how much behind the scenes stuff there is. I loved reading through the concept art and i really hope they keep doing it with future games.
I know it’s obvious, but I can’t believe how awesome the foreshadowing is with the village of shadows book and the 4 lords. I might just be dull but I didn’t pick up on it until I finished the game. Absolutely amazing.
RE Village, thankfully, has critical acclaim; the critics, however, criticize the game due to its theme park theme. But that's Ok, the theme park theme worked for the game and kept the horror fresh in each location with the Village essentially tying everything together. This game is a solid 9/10 and really enjoyable.
I honestly think the design is ingenious. Every location explores a new subgenre of horror leaving something for everyone to get scared by. Vampires, doll/possession(scariest one for me), sea monsters, and the mad scientist/human experimentation. I give it a 100 in concept
I loved Moreau's section, and he fulfilled a great Gothic villain trope as an Igor type. I do wish it had been longer, perhaps with some unique enemies, but being alone suits him too. Really, my biggest complaint is Heisenberg's fight sucking and Mother Miranda not having enough development. They should added a level for her before her boss fight, maybe a ruined abbey or cathedral to exploit her religious imagery. It could have had similar pacing and enemies to the stronghold, but more plot significance.
I personally love the under current of family in the Four Lords. Each have a sympathetic quality. Lady Dimitrescu is genuinely a caring and loving mother to her daughters. Donna is a broken lonely woman who wants love, Moreau just wants love from someone he considers his mother, and Heisenberg just wants a life to his own. The game never expects you to see them as good people, but it doesn't say you can't feel a little sorry for them all the same. Also I must point out the voice work for this game was a notch above even RE7. Goddamn was Lady Ds voice work just terrific.
I feel like I'm the only one who absolutely cannot stand Heisenberg's voice. It's so obnoxious and feels so forced that it's like nails on a chalkboard for me.
Complete waste of potential that Lady D wasn't the final boss. She was easily one of the best characters in this game, and literally skyrocketed past Jill to become the most well known RE character, and already showed reluctance towards Miranda's ideals. She could have been the perfect traitor
@@phud69 I wouldn't have minded her getting more screentime. But I understand that the developers didn't know what they were working with until January of this year. She might not have been around long, but at least she made ever moment count. Now if and when DLC shows up and she isn't somehow involved, well that's on Capcom for not wanting money.
Bruh the voicework is a step up? Ethan is unable to show emotion and heisenburg sounds like a shitty game show host/ average know it all redditor. Everyone else is pretty good though. I can't point out one lackluster performance in 7 (besides Ethan again)
It was clear moreau was rushed, and kind of beneviento as well. I also felt that we should have got to fight Heisenberg with his hammer and powers. felt like there was quite a but cut tbh, 9/10 though
There's some rushed sections in Castle Dimitrescu too. The dungeon could've been a major and spooky part in Castle Dimitrescu but Capcom chose not to utilize it to it's full potential. And also, the daughters boss fights are really lame. They're like characters you see in bad movies that just dies not long after you introduce them. The daughters should've had a bigger role since they're literally the daughters of a boss character so they should have a lot more character development and of course a lot harder to kill than your standard undead or a licker/hunter.
@@kaiserbrutus730 in my opinion The castle could of had its own fucking game such a waste of characters and set pieces... I don't know why capcom tried to pull of an avengers type thing in such a short time... I do love RE8 but it feels like it's only about 60% of it's planned image ...
Small correction, but in the mercenaries modes of RE4-6 you still had only a limited amount of enemies coming after you, allowing you to achieve the highest scores by killing the maximum enemies possible all in one combo, and with a fair bit of time left, though can't quite recall if time played any factor into scoring. Each definitely had a limited enemy count though, just not actual counter to tell you just how many were left. That said, pretty solid video over all!
You talked about the medication in the village being the same as Mia's. It IS Mia's. There's a note you can find where Mother Miranda asked one of the villagers to bring her medicines, among other things. The villager brought them to MM and encountered the Rose Flask ceremony where they split her up. MM needed the meds for Mia because she has kidnapped Mia and is giving them to her. I think that's the story explanation for the meds.
Honestly, this has been one of my favorites in the series so far. I don’t think it’s the best, but it’s art style, combat, and characters hooked me way more than any game in the series has so far. I wish there where some harder puzzles, and I think the plot could’ve been cut down a little. It feels like it trying to tell you way more than it can fit in the runtime of this game. Great review Boulder Punch. I found your channel recently and have been loving your stuff.
For me, what set Ethan apart from Mia is that he died and was brought back from the mold soon after, whereas Mia was infected (but still alive) and was able to recover with the serum. That way, it keeps the story tight in that he only exists because of the mold. (Part of me also thinks the serum wouldve killed him the same way it did in Jack in the base game of re7)
I mean it’s not gonna come out right away, honestly I’m impressed that there’s already new maps, even if they’re just re used maps from the story. New content takes a long time to make
In my opinion I would live a DLC that focuses on the castle that is akin to the maiden demo because i loved the feeling of that demo a lot. The fact your so helpless is just amazing to me. No wonder The Doll House is my favorute part of the game 😅
To anyone complaining this game is too easy play village of shadows difficulty without infinite ammo you’ll be terrified LOL and not hating on anyone who is not up for the challenge but it definitely changes the game
Even with "infinite" weaponry, VOS difficulty isn't a cakewalk, ESPECIALLY the later parts with Chris. It gives you infinite *magazines*, but you still have to pause to reload, and with how damned fast the Lycan hordes close distance, it's pretty easy to find yourself munched on.
One of the legendary skins in Rainbow Six Siege has been leaked to be Leon Kennedy (RE4 version), so I imagine it'll take a little while before one of the main RE characters end up in Fortnite... maybe
Have the scene where Chris kills Mia a bit faster and have Chris tell Ethan that there is no time right now and that he'll explain when they've reached HQ. Wouldn't be that much better buut it would be still better than "I didn't want to get a civilian involved in this" or something
See he does say later that he was gonna tell Ethan when they got to HQ but they got intercepted. He wasn’t gonna risk telling Ethan anything in front of the possibly still living Miranda, and he knocks him out so he can’t fight back
Despite the gameplay/story at least we can all agree that the MOCAP acting and voice acting for it was quite inspiring and impressive. I’m fairly certain this RE title will have a deep effect for games in the feature, a lot more cinematic feel, more linear, just due to the wide spread success of not only the visuals but the acting involved in each of the characters, i.e Lady D and Heisenberg (not excluding Angie/Donna, mother Miranda, performance, etc.)
Honestly, I have replayed RE8 5 times and still going. House Beneviento will always creep me out. Think about Mia having a horrible birthing process, and baking "The Baby" out of the oven. Also love the tension it gives me thinking The Baby will get me even though he is slower than a snail.
I think the reason Ethan seems to show more emotion when Alaina dies then when Mia dies is because of how fast things happened when Mia was killed. He didn't really have time to reflect on it because of how fast Chris did what he did. Also Ethan is at a point further in the game to where he feels like things are more in his control. So he felt the weight of Alaina's death being more of his own fault than anything else. I could be totally wrong but thats just my two cents.
@@Betaster3000 Well I don't necessarily care about the lines they chose to keep and the delivery of them. I just sort of brought up a point about THE point they wanted to convey. Whether terrible or not I suppose they got their point across.
That seems like a cop out. Ethans va struggles to portray emotion through the whole story. Anyone who loses there spouse would flip shit regardless of how fast it happens. Plus there is nothing else to support the theory besides the fact that it excuses poor dialogue. Love the game thougj
@@charlesmartiniii1405 Yea, if someone shot my wife in front of me, I don't care how fast it happened, I'd be screaming, crying and doing everything I could to get my hands on her killer, not just stand still and look around like a moron.
The thing about the Winters family living so close to the Village I think I have something of an explanation. If we assume that Ethan has just arrived home from work, then it's probably around 6 o'clock, which matched with Mia putting Rose to sleep and making dinner. When Ethan wakes from the crash and arrives at the Village, the sun begins to rise within minutes. Therefore it's possible that they live at most 12 hours of driving from the village, which I wouldn't call close.
I did enjoy this game a lot. It had its ups and downs but two bits stand out to me: the baby foetus chase obviously lol and finding out that ethans daughter had been essentially drawn and quartered. That freaked me out after finding that out and that we had to find the 4 pieces of her. That would drive anyone insane with grief and I would’ve loved to see Ethan behave like that but with that said, this is still a good game
My biggest problem with the game was how short Donna and Moreaus sections were. I could kill them both within 30-45 minutes while dimitrescu and heisenburg take significantly longer to kill.
Thinking about it Donna's part could have been stretched another hour. More scares and maybe the whole house completely turning on you. Maybe I'm only saying that cuz its my favorite section. Moreau could've used more character development and maybe even aide if he renounced Miranda (but his section bored me tbh so I dont mind it being short). Besides that though gameplay wise it's perfect
@@jackjax7921 yeah, because they’re underdeveloped. If those sections got more time they could be great, exhibit a and b being the 2 other lords. Also I enjoy their characters, and would like to see more about what exactly they do and such Edit: Grammar + extension
But he's judging RE7 _with_ the DLC. If he were to compare the two, there ought to be an even ground. Personally, I think that if we compare the two basegames, RE8 has far fewer issues and much more variety (enemies, environments, weapons etc.) than RE7.
The sets are so lavishly decorated. I can't even imagine how much time they spent crafting it. Just love it. Plus it seems like they nailed the old world Eastern European vibes. I was surprised the couple didn't have a bidet in their bathroom with EU outlets. :-P
I am just glad they fixed all of their faces, I knew they were kind of off in RE7, but my god they look like very low quality action figures compared to those in RE Village.
Having Chris know Ethan was molded would explain so much about his behavior too ; Like why is he treating Ethan like a dick throughout every encounter up until the end. I think whole script was written that way, with Chris, who spent his life fighting BOWs now has one up in his face demanding answers and to be treated as a person, simply seeing him as a biological mistake beneath humans. Would make ending more effective too with Chris witnessing a fuckin Licker go through hell and death only to save a little child. Hell, tiniest tweaks would make this story Great, all the pieces are there, Capcom just needed to think things through a little better.
SPOILER So I Just Realized That When Heisenberg Drops Ethan in the Hole Heisenberg Says Your Funeral Then When Ethan Kills Heisenberg Ethan Says Your Funeral
The back and forth between Miranda and Ethan takes on a new dimension when you think about her potentially pretending to be Mia during more..., intimate moments. Could be an unintended implication, but it's worth noting.
It's generally implied that their relationship was really rocky during that time, so it's unlikely they got distracted from that enough to do the diddly.
I find it absurd how, for all this 'Mia going full native', not only do the villagers have very American accents- the way they speak is very American. No part of this game makes me feel like I'm in Romania. The interior of the house at the start included.
this one is definitely my favourite of the games, the overall vibe and aesthetic completely stole my heart, and i shamelessly love Heisenberg more than any other character we've had in the games haha 😅. the game is so gorgeous and i really loved ethan, i really connected with him. this game was the second of the re games i played entirely on my own, with no friends watching or commenting around me, so i feel like maybe thats why i connected more deeply with it unlike the others where i had friends with me so we joked a lot during the playthrough - but overall i think if i replayed every single game again id still have the same feelings.

After playing the game 4 times - 2 in Casual, 1 in Standard, and 1 in Hardcore. Here are the things that I think could've made the game better. Make the castle segment longer When I was speedrunning the game, the castle was the 2nd shortest segment of the game. With me entering the castle at 20 minutes and leaving at 46 minutes. Make the Doll House section longer When I was playing for the first time, I was so excited because it felt like playing the demos and it was the only part of the game that felt like a puzzle. Make the puzzles harder or longer
@@jesusalonso2179 id love to see you beat re4 og, re5, re4 remake or re1 remake in under 3 hours all re games are not short at all especially if your playing them normally and not speed running
one thing that you didn't mention relating to how rushed the villagers section was is actually something that elena's voice actress mentions in her stream of RE8, where elena randomly knows that he's trying to save his daughter despite ethan saying nothing about it
A little mention on your idea about if Miranda took Rose in the middle of the night instead of Chris, I think that probably would have made the twist reveal that Mia wasn’t Mia a bit more repetitive since Mia calling for help in RE7 had essentially the same one with Eveline calling Ethan to find her instead of Mia herself. I agree the Chris situation could have been handled better but the idea of Miranda taking Rose herself would probably make a similar situation to people hating Mia in RE7 for sawing off Ethan’s hand, another complaint many people had.
The doll house was literally the most scared I’ve been from any media I had to take a couple breaks and it was in the middle of the day(albeit I am in the basement of my house)
I have issues with pretty much every part of the game except for House Beneviento. It’s short, yes, and the final chase is certainly not that flashy, but oh my lord does it use its time effectively. I’ve run through the baby section easily 12 times now, even speedrunning it, and EVERY time it stresses me out. I know exactly how she moves and where she’s gonna be and she STILL scares the shit out of me. The Angie chase used to disappoint me until I read a developers note about how it’s just Donna running through the house being slowly stabbed to death by Ethan in his hallucinatory state. It’s tragic and I love it so much. 10/10 section for me.
If you get SS or SSS rank on every mercenaries level, then you unlock a lightsaber weapon to be used in the story called the LZ Answerer. The colours of the blade are red, blue, and green. No purple unfortunately
I completely agree that the Baker Incident should be in the base game, but I gotta appreciate that you are one of the few people doing in depth reviews that actually checked it out, since it answers a bunch of stuff some people were wondering in their own comments about the story.
I enjoyed the game, it was fun from beginning to end, but I preferred the more grounded horror approach that 7 took. I hope they don’t stray away from that in future titles. Resident evil is at its best for me when it cripples me with adrenaline and fear.
Bruh the way u pronounce "drama" is gettin a gd chuckle outta me hahah I dnt mean to sound disrespectful or anythin or make fun but it caught me off guard, dnt ever change ,love ur content ! 😅😄😊
I am romanian and most of the romanian stuff is actually pretty accurate except for some cooking receipts which are switched but they did make their research on romanian descriptions I will give them that. Ciorba de Legume is actually correct and it means vegetable soup.
This review is probably the closest to how i feel about this game compared to every other review. And i appreciate that you gave a good amount of attention to House Beneviento as it is my favorite part of the game. The psychological hope i within that section was a true masterpiece.
Awesome video on this! I wanted to watch it beforehand but I wanted to finish the game before giving it a watch. Great review and great points. I can't wait for the DLC and as you said I really want to see more of the dynamic of the 4 lords! They are an awesome addition in my opinion and I want to see a lot more! Game was absolutely great for me! Loved every second.
Last acting role of Jeanette Maus who sadly passed away after an eight-month battle with colon cancer, a few months before the release of the game Lady Alcina Dimitrescu's face is based on a Polish actress named Helena Mankowska. Julian, Luiza's nervous son, is voiced by the same actor as Lucas in Resident Evil 7. Lady Dimitrescu stands at a whopping 9'6" (2.90 meters) tall. While fans speculated that this episode would have the series take a more supernatural turn, it is actually explained that the vampire women and the werewolves are victims of a virus just as the other enemies in the series were before. Director Morimasa Sato was inspired by the "Gothic horror" genre. For example, the Lycans were inspired by the Werewolflore, while the Dimitrescus were inspired by vampires.
What vampire woman? There are no vampires anywhere in the game at all. I don't know why people kept calling Lady D and her daughters Vampires. Not only does the game explicitly tell you that in a document towards the end of the game, they clearly go outside several times during the day....Vampires aren't protected by a cloudy sky
With the fact that Ethan's model appears in the post credits cutscene, it might be an implication that Ethan can't die. I'm thinking that he can be mortally wounded, and can appear deceased, but either due to the mold or some other wacky Bioweapon stuff, his conciousness is preserved and perhaps a new Ethan is formed
Oh man, I loved this game. It's my fourth favorite RE game. But, I hated the inventory system in this game. It's so satisfying to see someone else had the same issue.
Also, speaking of the religious aspect of Village and that you said that it's a bit of an aspect that Capcom haven't explained upon, the scenes in the End Credits after the Village of Shadows story can explain it a bit further.

Seeing the Baby for the first time is one of those gaming moments I’ll never forget.
I was so scared by the noises it made I didn't see the baby until I made it on the elevator back up. Even watching it I get the same uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach, I've played horror games for as long as I can remember and that is one moment that will definitely stick with me for a long time.
Yeah that was...a surprise to say the least.
DaBaby?!?!?
That baby is one of the most disturbing videogame monsters made in recent years. Easily in the top 10 scariest Resident Evil monsters
I'm just surprised Chris had a squad which didn't end up dying
I felt the power in those words.
Yeah, good for him. The guy's been through enough as it is.
*Chris will remember that*
I'm surprised the helicopter pilot survived
Those guys transporting Ethan in the beginning died.. 😶
What I wanna know is what the hell was Chris’ squad doing while Ethan was taking out the lords one by one, alone??
They apparently spent years doing recon on this place, and Ethan just storms in and brute forces it in like a day, ALONE.
Tbf, Ethan has Mold-Abilities, so I may think humans have less possibilities, but you still have a point. After all, they are highly trained.
well.... Chris' squad isn't made of mold. If their hand or leg gets cut off then they are mostly like done for. Ethan suffers from a lot of injuries from both games that would normally be fatal for anyone. Ethan isn't normal though.
I love this series but trying to put logic into the story destroys everything
It was because the van Ethan was in for some reason was taking them to the exact place they didn't want to be whole the rest of the squad took the slow train.
The man can just pop his hand back on and be fine, what did you expect?
I think the reason why the serum didn’t work from Ethan is because when it came to mia and the bakers they were alive when they got infected. But when it came to Ethan he was killed and then the mold brought him back to life, so maybe that’s why it works differently.
Hmm..perhaps?
He IS mold everything about him. It's not an infection. It's his whole DNA now
True
Maybe that's why Mia kept it secret because if he is all mold. Then wouldn't the serum simply calcify and kill him again? Its my headcannon at least
The curious aspect is how did he have a child if he was dead?

I really liked Moreau and Heisenberg as characters. Moreau is truly a tragic and sad character who you can tell truly just seeks approval of Mother Miranda and the “no no no no no” note really hit with me. Heisenberg is really interesting too because he’s basically fed up with Miranda and doesn’t seem to worship her like the other characters do and just calls her “Miranda.”
Side note: A lot of people complain about the factory but it’s by far my favorite area of the game with the engaging enemies and how they change up your approach and especially the Wolfenstein reboot/ Frankensteins army designs and I liked maneuvering around dangerous equipment.
The factory honestly was a highlight of the game. I just think it went in a bit too long.
I think that far better explanation of why didn't Chris say Ethan anything would be if Chris knew that Ethan is actually molded. That way the would want to keep secrets from Ethan in case he is telepatically connected to Megamycete, as they would not want to alert Miranda.

I like how in the beginning of the game Chris taking rose and saying to ethan "Ethan, no" like he is a dog
My assumption about the "Ethan is special" line is just that his DNA interacts with the mold in a unique way, just like Wesker's DNA interacts with the T-Virus in a unique way. It's just a genetic jackpot sort of thing.
Jack similarly possessed a unique affinity for the mold which allowed him to survive things that put down the rest of the family.
What if Ethan was Wesker's secret son

@@charlesmartiniii1405 I love the game and love the level design. Granted, a night village would have been nice during ethans campaign.
Her Bossfight was actually cool though, and what Heisenbergs was sick as hell
Re8 was a perfect balance between horror and action, my only complaint is how little they focus on Donna and Moreau.
Also your videos are amazing
@@Marverick1998 I take it you don't like transatlantic accents? (I know I'm two years late)
The daughters should've had a bigger role since they're literally the daughters of a boss character so they should have a lot more character development and of course a lot harder to kill than your standard undead or a licker/hunter.
agreed. all the characters were great until they went "standard RE giant boss" mode. so boring, so played out.

Despite the gameplay/story at least we can all agree that the MOCAP acting and voice acting for it was quite inspiring and impressive.

Less child support to pay tbh
It's Ethan without his jacket at the end. I think it's supposed to be him and not a place holder.
The real reason Chris is upset is because he has to find a new man for Claire

It's generally implied that their relationship was really rocky during that time, so it's unlikely they got distracted from that enough to do the diddly.

After playing the game 4 times - 2 in Casual, 1 in Standard, and 1 in Hardcore. Here are the things that I think could've made the game better.
Make the castle segment longer
When I was speedrunning the game, the castle was the 2nd shortest segment of the game. With me entering the castle at 20 minutes and leaving at 46 minutes.
Make the Doll House section longer
When I was playing for the first time, I was so excited because it felt like playing the demos and it was the only part of the game that felt like a puzzle.
Make the puzzles harder or longer
All re games are short. My first run in re7 was 11 hrs in standard than my second in casual in 2 hours with 45 minutes.
I really enjoyed this. It got me a whole different view point of Resident Evil!
Subbed! 👍🏻
I thought I was the only one lol
Wow i'm early, what a great video to start the day too!
Always happy to find a new essay channel.
If Ethan was given the serum, wouldn’t he technically completely die as he was just mold when he was infected since he died beforehand.
I'm glad you liked the Factory section. It seems like so many people have trashed that section and I thought it was a great time
I am romanian and most of the romanian stuff is actually pretty accurate except for some cooking receipts which are switched but they did make their research on romanian descriptions I will give them that.
The whole vampire thing was just a thinly disguised fetish insert by the devs
Ethan's one-liner is what keeps me playing
Awesome video on this! I wanted to watch it beforehand but I wanted to finish the game before giving it a watch. Great review and great points. I can't wait for the DLC and as you said I really want to see more of the dynamic of the 4 lords! They are an awesome addition in my opinion and I want to see a lot more! Game was absolutely great for me! Loved every second.
Last acting role of Jeanette Maus who sadly passed away after an eight-month battle with colon cancer, a few months before the release of the game
Lady Alcina Dimitrescu's face is based on a Polish actress named Helena Mankowska.
"Ethan, Just give it up Winters"
What a banger
Oh man, I loved this game. It's my fourth favorite RE game. But, I hated the inventory system in this game. It's so satisfying to see someone else had the same issue.
Great video mate. Enjoyed every second
Also, speaking of the religious aspect of Village and that you said that it's a bit of an aspect that Capcom haven't explained upon, the scenes in the End Credits after the Village of Shadows story can explain it a bit further.
