IndyCar, this is one of the reason's, of many, I have as much love and respect for the series as I do. You do not edit out history, you leave it as it is/was; as it should be for so many reasons. Justin is missed dearly, I hope he's racing among the clouds. But people need to see what can and does happen in Motorsport. True fan's do not want death, EVER, but they do want conflict and incidents. And sometimes the result of that is what happened to Justin. God Bless You Justin and thank you IndyCar for having some ideals, values and respect. I've watched you for 30 years, hopefully I can make it another!
@@Magnum72_YT the yellow/red car of Karam hit the outside wall, and his nosecone became detached, bounced down the track, and Justin Wilson drove into the nosecone and it hit his head, killing him. He didn’t die from anything impact related, just by the fact he drove into a heavy nosecone at speed.
I completely understand the black cloud hanging over Pocono, but I can’t help but notice the crowd and the fact that attendance had grown every year since it’s return. I hope there is a day where track management improves its walls and fencing and Indycar can return to this historic track.
That won’t solve much. What they need to do if they want to return is create a new aero package suited specifically for this track and no other. Only then can they go back to Pocono safely.

That was a very bittersweet victory for RHR and the Andretti team, the charge at the final restart was incredible, heartbreaking they couldn't celebrate properly because they were worried about the condition of their teammate, which had a terrible outcome.

Was catching up on the season after missing the last few races. Knowing what would happen in this race I wasn't sure if I'd watch it. I did however and have to say the race itself was pretty good with a lot of action. Just such a sad edge around it. Justin Wilson you will always be remembered #BadassWilson

I was also at this race. My first and only Pocono race. I went to the track in 2016, but it rained out and I couldn’t go back on Monday since I had school. But it was an amazing race, besides the accident. But seeing my favorite driver win after what happened made that day so much better. And this track is definitely one Tricky Triangle.

Some bizarrely entertaining moments in this race, but the accident that ultimately claimed Justin Wilson's life changed the atmosphere for the worse. As a guy from the UK it is sad that the two most recent fatalities in Indycar are from my country 😥
I was there when I was 9 my first race I ever went to and I witnessed a passing on Justin Wilson now that I'm 14 I realize now these cars aren't toys they go over 230+ mph and it's super dangerous when your like 10 inches away from the other car indycar is very dangerous.

Honestly the fact that they didn’t red flag the race after Justin’s crash is abhorrent. I know they didn’t know Justin’s condition yet but why take the chance? I much prefer the way they handled Dan Wheldon’s crash by paying respects instead of continuing the race. And why take the chance to see two fatal crashes in one race?
dan wheldon died instantly (seriously, watch that crash again. he was D.O.A.). wilson got knocked out at best and died days later in the hospital so why stop it for that? it sucks but i'm willing to bet that was the case. one died instantly and another died later from a freak accident
Incidents like the Wilson crash happen all the time in Indycar, he just got hit in the worst possible spot. Dan wheldon they stopped cause everyone knew he was dead
The freak death of Justin Wilson is a terrible tragedy. But, even with his death, seeing all the other accidents, it show how good of a chassis the Dallara is; everyone else walked away from their accidents. It was an utter fluke that this happened the way it did, and the design of the car couldn't have saved him. A closed cockpit might, though, but that was one big heavy piece of chassis.

Nascar is much safer than indycar. For example, Justin would probably be here today if there were no open roof indycars. But my thoughts go out to justins family.
NASCAR doesn't go as fast as IndyCar. NASCAR Cup cars are 30-40 mph a lap slower on an oval than IndyCars, and NASCAR's safety standards are better. On top of that the roofs and the much heavier weight of a NASCAR Cup car (3500 lb, compared to IndyCar's 1570 lb) makes a difference in safety as well.

They didn't stop it most likely cuz there was only like 25 laps left when it happened back when Dan Wheldon was killed that was very early in the race
