'No-nonsense' Princess Anne carries her own bags on royal tour

- The Princess Royal has been welcomed to Sri Lanka with a dazzling performance by traditional dancers - and in true Princess Anne style, she took it all in her stride by carrying her own bags off her commercial plane.
The no-nonsense princess was photographed in a warm jacket, trousers and sensible shoes as she thanked SriLankan Airlines staff before walking off the plane carrying two heavy bags.
Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, her husband, followed, also holding a couple of bags, as the couple began an official three-day visit celebrating the UK’s ties with the Commonwealth country.

Im from the UK and i visited Sri Lanka a number of years ago. Honestly the nicest people i have ever come across. The country was so beautiful and full of life. The history in that part of the world is fascinating aswell

She looked surprised at the welcome she received throughout the trip. Good to see Timothy wasn't ignored by the hosts. Must be the warmest welcome she received in quite a while as well as a tonne of publicity for the tour from around the world. Much-needed PR for Sri Lanka's tourism industry.
Princess Anne is used to not taking any kind of chances. For example when having her laundry and her packing done right and then double checked. Some American Psychologists might call that an unhealthy level of anxiety. We call it wise.

I've recorded her at Edinburgh Airport boarding a Royal Charter flight back to London carrying a Nike rucksack 😅. She is actually more relatable than people think just because of her family. I respect her a lot actually!
She carried her bags until the bottom of the stairs, hardly an amazing feat of strength. I do like her down to earth manner.

The face that carrying bags is seen as ‘no-nonsense’ and something special, says a lot.
More people should take her highnesses example she's very hardworking and often carries her own bags. She's no nonsense and a truly fabulous person 💗

It seems necessary to clarify that every country pay their diplomatic trips. Princess Ann works for the Head of State, and as such, she travels representing the county.
In the UK the monarch is the head of state, and sends out its people to do the pr for the country. In all countries the position is by appointment not by elections.
The British royal family is known and respected, and Princess Anne is well known and experienced so is not like the UK is sending a obscure novice. Search the names of the USA state department, the most powerful country in the world, (no bs,, still is)and think if the little United Kingdom, can send a better envoy who doesn't need introduction and was trained since birth in diplomacy?
