I grew up on a farm with cattle. One of our cows had a stillborn and she cried for months and wouldn't let the bull near her to try for another. She was so grief stricken that she stopped eating and lost a lot of weight. I started comforting her and she would lay her head on my lap while I read her a book out loud. Eventually, she recovered and we had a stronger bond because of it. They are emotional beings with feelings and are basically large dogs that get excited to see you every morning.

Yes... if there isn't other cows around. Cows will make friends with other animals and any humans around them. And be very protective of them. If you have children. I grew up on a farm back in the 1950's & 60's. We dairied, and had holstein and Guernsey dairy cows. They definitely like music, and would get edgy in the milk barn without their music. Many times when working on equipment or fences, I would get that feeling I was being watched. And yes, I was with several standing just behind me watching. They love being stroked and rubbed. And the calves are adorable. Dairy cattle are very good animals to have around.

It's honestly a little heartbreaking that we eat them so regularly (myself included), they are indeed loving creatures, across the world this is known, even in the US, but it is almost like most people in the US seem to hate animals and gloat about eating them, I have rarely seen other people from other countries gloat about killing them, or just doing it out of pure spite, I mean there is China and Japan and some others, but it's mostly part of their tradition or culture.

When I was a child my grandparents owned a farm with many heads of cattle. They had a bull who was named 'Blacky', I know, original right, lol. Anyway he was a mean, dangerous bull. But when I would go to the fence, Black would stand next to it and wait for me to climb on his back. I was about 6 or 7. He would very gently walk around and let me stay there for as long as I wanted. My grandmother almost had a heart attack the first time she saw me doing it. I got in big trouble but, it didn't stop me. All of the cows too were so sweet.

I stopped eating beef because of certain videos I’ve seen , and I stopped at a farm I pass every day to ask if I could go near some of their cows and the people were really nice after spending time with them they are truly so intelligent and loving animals . They feel Joy and excitement even fear and grief . I believe all animals really do . Cows are curious, cute, sensitive and oddly sweet. On a worship day, there were too much smoke. I fanned of the smoke from their eyes when everyone else left. Both the mother and the calf got quite attached to me within that 2 hours.
I've seen a momma cow grieve for two weeks when they lost their calf. The baby calves love to lay by the bull, you can see they admire the bull. Bulls treat THEIR babies so tender and sweet. one sniff and they know if it's theirs.

I grew up on a farm back in the 1950's & 60's. We dairied, and had holstein and Guernsey dairy cows. They definitely like music, and would get edgy in the milk barn without their music. Many times when working on equipment or fences, I would get that feeling I was being watched. And yes, I was with several standing just behind me watching. They love being stroked and rubbed. And the calves are adorable. Dairy cattle are very good animals to have around.

It's honestly a little heartbreaking that we eat them so regularly (myself included), they are indeed loving creatures, across the world this is known, even in the US, but it is almost like most people in the US seem to hate animals and gloat about eating them, I have rarely seen other people from other countries gloat about killing them, or just doing it out of pure spite, I mean there is China and Japan and some others, but it's mostly part of their tradition or culture.

A common misconception is that we hate meat. No. We hate that these animals are killed for no reason other than taste (in most places) and abused. I don't deny that meat tastes good, but that doesn't justify killing and abusing them. But because it does taste good why not make fake meat that also tastes good but isn't a dead animal? It also makes it easier and more appealing for people to give up animal products, as they actually don't fully have to give it up.

Facts! People also don’t realize how high cows can actually jump! The can jump fences in fear of bear! They jump around like calves in the spring ! They know there names! And have attachments or favorite friends or even people! And they have excellent hearing ! They would hear the VW coming and run to the fence with anticipation I would be coming around the corner each trying to get as close to the front to greet me first! They have personalities! I love cows!

When I was a child my grandparents owned a farm with many heads of cattle. They had a bull who was named 'Blacky', I know, original right, lol. Anyway he was a mean, dangerous bull. But when I would go to the fence, Black would stand next to it and wait for me to climb on his back. I was about 6 or 7. He would very gently walk around and let me stay there for as long as I wanted. My grandmother almost had a heart attack the first time she saw me doing it. I got in big trouble but, it didn't stop me. All of the cows too were so sweet.

They also have a babysitter system. One or two cows will watch over most of the calves off to one side while the rest of the cows graze in peace. Then, another cow will come switch out.
They do do that, l said to one of my brother's cow's who had all of the calves around her, " so you are the designated baby sitter, l call her Medeusa, like her mother and her Grandmother, they had split horns, so l called them Medeusa after the Greek godess who had serpants as hair.

He always sleeps next to me.sometimes I snore loudly he moves near my legs.he was only 4 weeks old when i found in the streets. now is 6 years old thanks God. Like a lot of animals cows are quite misunderstood. I lived near a farm growing up and hated when the calfs were separated from their mums. The mothers crys are heart breaking and so sad. They have beautiful eyes and amazing long eyelashes😊💚🌍🕊
And that's why I've never eaten beef since I was 7. Fell in love with cows they are such kind gentle giants. Going on 18 years of not eating beef😁

Cows are curious, cute, sensitive and oddly sweet. On a worship day, there were too much smoke. I fanned of the smoke from their eyes when everyone else left. Both the mother and the calf got quite attached to me within that 2 hours.
I've seen a momma cow grieve for two weeks when they lost their calf. The baby calves love to lay by the bull, you can see they admire the bull. Bulls treat THEIR babies so tender and sweet. one sniff and they know if it's theirs.
