Just found this video after picking up an old Craftsman tiller with this motor that won't start. Pretty sure you've pointed me towards the solution. Many thanks!
Thanks , fuel pickup clogged with a tiny piece of debris because of not having the mesh filter. Made one from an old stainless steel french press filter. Running great!
I hate adjusting governors , it's such a tedious process . Great video Robby . I know it's older but I'm trying to get caught up on your videos. Take care and catch you on your next one.
I have a wood-chipper with this engine on it, this was helpful. The exhaust on mine is totally different and I couldn't figure out a way to remove it because of the bend in the pipe, but I got by
I just tore my tiller engine apart. I an sure that the diaphragm is at fault as well. Now that I got it apart................I am a tad worred about all the linkages.......................i should have taken a "before pic". I may need to lean on you for that!
Yeah I have done that before. Take it apart and then realize I have no clue where everything goes. Then I am searching the internet for pictures to get it back together.
Thanks for this interesting video. I just bought a B&S 5HP generator that wont start. So this might be a good help to try and fix it.. will let you know if it worked out👍😎
Leave the governor on and get it running. You could remove the governor once you get it running but you will barely know the difference. With the governor off you will eventually break something in the engine because the excessive rpm.
Sloppy repair work! You used old gaskets plus used old gas without cleaning the tank or the carburetor. The Governor didn't need adjusting thats why it has a throttle and a spring. for adjustment. If you watch a you tube Governor adjustment video instead of making your own you would under stand how a governor works and is set. Video's like this can cause others to destroy a piece of equipment.

I have a go kart with this engine that’s a 3 horse power that won’t start. Can I just take the governor all the way off?

Thank u.
Welcome!
Hopefully by now U figured out the proper way to set it, because this is NOT the proper way.
Are you talking about the governor, or ?
Those cheap China diaphragm do that. Use B/S parts
Good to know.
True I did replace carb on a verticutter and had low power so im thinking that cheap 20 dollar carb is trash can this be re ringed resleeved
Research ether dependency
