I appreciate your clear and concise video! Ive never worked on a small emgine before. My craftsman tiller wasnt starting no matter how many pulls i gave it. Last time it ran it was running very rough. I did everything you did in your video; found some greenish gas, and some gummed up jets. Started on first pull after i finished. One issue now: throttle seems off. Its either all or nothing, not much invetween. Any suggestions?

What if I don’t want to do all that but I want it to start lol

Good work ! Time saving tip...you don't have to wrestle with taking off throttle knob, on the newer models, as they have a cut-out at half way between ' turtle and rabbit. Or 1/2 throttle.

Another successful job done by Robby! You didn't show how you fixed the gas tank though. Wish we had some snow to use my blower on. I have only used it once this season so far , kinda strange. Buy new carb ($15-25), throw the old one away, replace the carb. Start. Almost always the easiest, least frustrating, cost-effective, and reliable solution. If you have last year's fuel in the tank, drain it and refill with fresh and ethanol-free gas (if you can). Amazon carries the carbs. You can also pitch the plastic guard from the back of the blower. It just collects snow and salt.

Do you have a wiring diagram? Can't imagine anything drawing from the battery with the switch off. Did the regulator charge the battery when it was running? Did you replace the regulator? 😮

Wow, if you seriously had to do all that to remove that simple carb I would definitely not want you working on my equipment. You completely over complicated that entire process. Was no need to take all that apart.

I have the 4500 as well. I’ve been running it using propane for a while now. However, when I switched to gasoline mode it won’t start up. Any tips on troubleshooting? Thanks in advance.

The carb on this engine has a defect with the jet under the throttle control. It constantly clogs and causes this surging. The screen type inline fuel filter in the gas tank allows particles to get through into the carb. I tried to fit a better filter in the gas line but there is no room. I saw someone cut the plastic bottom off that jet and said it worked fine. ?

This is why I stayed with the Toro Power Curve 1800 electric over the last 26 years. Dealing with a power cord is a small price to pay for no maintenance and no fiddling with the damn engine and gas. The first unit I bought new and lasted me 21 winters. In the end it was pretty beat-up but still working when I gave it to a friend. Now on my second one I bought slightly used 5 years ago. I have a steep driveway, about 90' long and the Power Curve handles everything up to 12" of snow

Shut the gas off and run the machine down it cleans out the line 25 years I have used 93 octane between 2 snowblowers and 2 lawnmowers. Never had a bad carb Never blown a motor I change the oil annually and watch RUclips videos to learn how to fix my equipment and I am not Johnny mechanic!

do i have to empty the fuel before cleaning the carb? And how do i do that, must i hae a pump?

Hey, how do i attach the choke lever to the carb? I think it broke off?

Thought my cable was too long when replacing it. The old one was never installed on that pivot piece so it's a miracle it ever worked properly.

Remove outside bolt from carburetor to easy to connect or disconnect this pooling line

Did this over the summer on my old snow blower. Total pain in the keister, but the gear was less expensive than a new plastic snow blower that won't last.

Bad carb, not getting fuel. Try starting with starter fluid first and see if it fires

Any idea what my problem could be with it constantly backfiring, and it will only run on 1 choke position and stalls out on the other ones? Seems even the choke position it runs on is getting worse and worse too.

Mine starts on the first or second pull every time. Change oil and use fresh gas with additive. Not rocket science!!!.. WHen I say change oil just drain it at the end of winter and put new oil in next year.
