- oof, this was an epic episode! we finally had our epic match with Man City!! Jamie was giving me many frights throughout this episode and I think Jamie alone made me cry like 3 separate times this episode! I love seeing the Jamie, roy and keeley bond growing each episode! some revelations about beard came out at the end of the episode and I believe Nathan will be coming back in the next episode so I'm quite looking forward to seeing how that is going to play out!! 🩶

You might not realise that the Man City coach who talks to Ted after the game is the real Man City coach Pep Guardiola.
Oh wow! I had no idea, that’s awesome!! 🩶
In the UK a very famous man.
The Beard monologue always gets me. You spend the whole series wondering why Beard is attached to Ted's hip and you don't get the payoff until that moment. It's why he didn't want Nate back-that and Beard was the only person who knew about everything Nate did-and knew how much Nate actually did hurt Ted.
In this episode we hear Jamie's mom call him her "sexy little baby," which is what Jamie called himself back in the reverse-the-curse episode.
One of the treats for football fans was seeing Pep Guardiola, the real life coach of Manchester City, play himself in the episode.
Omg you’re right! I totally forgot he called himself that! 🩶
Jamie's relationship with his mom is a little weird. But it's also the healthiest relationship in his life. 😄
@@Wiley_Coyote He can talk to her about anything, which I think is most important.
Isaac randomly ordering 75 kabobs 😂😂😂
So great 🤣🩶
" or you can just get 25 of each "
" 😎👉 Nate the great "
I love specifically _who_ came to Taste of Athens to ask Nathan to return: Isaac and Colin, who in the earliest episodes were constantly bullying Nathan for Jamie Tartt's approval, and Will, who replaced him as kitman. Fascinating choice for that scene.
Jamie is one of my favorite characters in any series ever. His growth is so amazing.
Jamie's journey from season 1 until now is one of the best in television ever.
Hard agree! 🩶
Agreed, rhe respect every player has for him os stark contrast to what we see on tbe beginning it's amazing
jamie is such a gem, beautiful journey.
I can’t agree more! So proud of his journey 🤣🩶
Just thinking how far they’ve come, especially Jamie has had one of the best written growths I’ve ever seen in a character, and to go from fighting with Roy to them supporting each other is amazing.
The smile I get on my face when one of these Ted Lasso reactions drops
Ah that makes me so happy! Thanks for watching! 🩶
Only one more smile left 😞
@@chriscostelloe8942 oh no 😥 that’s so sad 😭😭
Jamie’s arc is on another level of storytelling. Gets me in an emotional pit that I can’t explain every time.
Beard’s story shows why he is so incredibly loyal to Ted and why he was just as hurt (if not more so) than Ted was when it came to Nate. His protectiveness over his friend that be owes his life to is unmatched.
As for Van DAMN, he’s obviously a very good goalie to get picked up for his National team and to keep for a team that has won 10+ games. They just don’t show his saves because there’s more drama showing the goals he lets up. I’m glad they gave him this moment.
The life of a keep. Everyone only remembers the one you let by😂
You noticed that Keeley’s office just has the two desks there. What I love is that, now that the firm is Keeley’s and no longer funded by Jack, she has control over the whole vibe. Instead of separate offices, she and Barbara are working side by side (in fact, their desks are set up just like Ted’s and Beard’s), and Barbara is dressing more casually, no more suits.
I was kinda waiting for this to point out a callback. Last season when Nate kissed Kaylee and admitted it to the Diamond Dogs, Roy forgave him instantly. Nate responded that he wanted *someone* to headbutt him. Beard, knowing that Nate had sabotaged Ted, said, "I'll headbutt you." And in this episode? He finally did.
This show has a lot of emotional moments, but the Beard and Nate scene is the one that had me crying like a baby.
Fun fact: Jamie’s mum is played by Leanne Best. Her uncle is rather famous, especially to fans of The Beatles-Pete Best was their original drummer until he was replaced by Ringo Starr.
Wow, I knew of Pete but never knew that connection to the show. Thanks!
" WHERE THE FUCK ARE ME WINGS ROOOOYYYYAAAAAHHH "
So that was Pep Guardiola the actual manager of Man City.
The big Blue Moon when they were walking the streets was because Man City’s song is Blue Moon, they sing it before every game.
Surely you know what Ted’s big surprise is!
Oh wow! I had no idea! That adds so much to the episode! 🩶
I think your sister mixed up your biscuit size with Ted's cereal. 😁
HAHAHAHA omg that’s gold! You’re so right 🤣🩶
You know what, I never noticed this comparison before: Jamie’s dad was never around, but always hit him up for free tickets. Jamie’s mom is always there for him with unconditional love, but she’s sitting at home watching him play on TV rather than asking for free tickets from him. Says something about their moral character - not that I think it’s bad to ask for a ticket generally but with all the other context in the show… very telling.
Good Review. I love the Beard Twist. It explains why he was so loyal to Ted no matter what .
One of my favorite things about Jamie is the way he says "poop-ay"
Omg same! I love how he says everything but that word specifically is great 🤣
Been waiting for this. It’s great fun. A great journey for our boy Jamie. 😊 I think Ted is concerned about his mom because she didn’t say why she was really here, plus he sees himself in her ways before he had therapy.
Good point! And now having seen it, I totally agree! Jamie is incredible! 🩶
32:06 Reminds me of Trent's article from the first season. Ted's coaching style is subtle and never hits you over the head.
ted having a strained relationship with his mom was hinted in the sunflower ep, when he said he wants to drink a bottle of wine and yell at his mom. this show has such great writing, almost no lines are wasted.
I love how Ted asks Jamie what he would say to his Dad and he says “Fuck you… and thank you”…. Which is the same thing that Ted says to his Mom later…. 😂
The orange is the away kit but in football teams really use that one only when they are away AND both teams colors are similar, so it's only a couple of times per season. There is also a 'third kit' they use another 3-4 matches, those are 'cool ones to make Nike and Adidas some extra cash'.
Ahhh okay! So I was kind of right but kind of wrong 🤣 that’s very cool! 🩶
I think my favorite moment in the whole episode was at the end of the Manchester City match, when Pep Guardiola says back to Ted what Ted had told Trent Crimm all the way back in 1x3. To me that said that Trent had printed that quote in his article, and one of the most well-known and successful coaches in the Premiere League was so moved by it that he made a point of remembering it word-for-word.
"And f**k you for making me think I had to pretend to" always makes me tear up. Dammmmn. This is such an amazing episode and Jamie is the MVP of this show for real. I also love him and his mum's relationship.
Boy, were there ever a ton of Wizard of Oz and Kansas references in this episode! I grew up near Wichita so I can't help but notice these. Even the sunflower seed bread Dottie bakes is kind of a Kansas reference since the sunflower is the state flower of Kansas. The whole Mom aspect of this episode was wonderful! Both moms gave us some great background behind the two men in question. The closing back story for Beard makes it clear why he is so intensely loyal to Ted and also why he was so stubbornly angry over Nate's betrayal.
And of course, Dottie is a nickname for Dorothy, and Theodore is a name reversal of Dorothy, making Ted a sort-of feminine junior, like Lesley Higgins.
We need a full backstory on Beard.
Jamie Tartt - the Prince Zuko of Ted Lasso
Ooooh love that- totally agree! 🩶
The rough lady at the start of the episode was the same lady who was bidding on Jamie and Roy in season 1.
Imagine life without Ted. What would've happened to all our favourite characters ,I would like to see It's a wonderful life version of Ted lasso , one off story
Prepare yourself for 3x12. Keep tissues close
When I first watched this show I thought this episode wrecked me but it was nothing compared to episode 12.
Ryann, when you’re done with Ted Lasso, I would love it if you would consider reacting to the UK version of Ghosts. It’s the original version of the sitcom and it has at least 4 seasons, and it’s wonderful. Right up your alley! That or Downton Abbey. Thanks for a great channel 💚💚💚
Someone missed a music cue... 😄 (at the end)
Notice Ted’s mom likes tea… I think his disdain for it might have something to do with their unresolved issues with her.
We also got a redux of “sexy little baby” the same but different…
There's a weird dichotomy with his relationship with his Mom. In many ways he's exactly like her. I think the Tea thing was to provide a contrast.
Great React - (she's not ready for this fantastic finale)
