Been searching for awhile now for some better explanation to this. But u described my symptoms perfectly. My former primary care physician brushed it off as arthritis but this DOES NOT feel associated to arthritis at all!! Never had this problem before but for the past 2yrs it has gradually gotten worse. The tingling in my arms & hands gets so bad that it wakes me up. It is becoming impossible to sleep. Somethn is not circulating blood to my hands & arms when i sleep. I don't know ANY arthritis patient that suffers from this. Wake up with a stiff neck. I almost have to lay coffin flat for it not to happen. If my neck is slightly bent, my arms & hands will go numb. Please help. I am in the Raleigh, NC area.

I play piano everyday and I have lived in my car for a few years. My job is not very strenuous physically. The last winter and this winter I noticed that I wake up with hands that are known. But the cold used to never bother me I am always well dressed grew up camping and still do all the time. Wool gloves on. But I am a side sleeper lately in my car where I think when I had my house I was more of a back sleeper. It's odd though that it only comes during the cold season the numbness in my hands. I don't think it's an issue with the cold but maybe the cold is exacerbating the other underlying issue which could be a nerve pinched from side sleeping. I don't believe it's carpal tunnel from piano because I believe I would have numbness during the daytime it's only when I wake up.

Hello! I have been having tingling and numbess on both my hands and feet for about 6 months. It comes and goes. There are periods of time that I don't have any symptoms. And then it appears suddenly again for no reason. This time I have been having it since 3 weeks ago. I have numbess and sometimes pain on my toes on my left foot. Or I have it on my left hand. I wake up every single night or morning (for 3 weeks) with this problem. It happens usually when I wake up from a deep sleep. Once it happened last week during the day time. It wasn't really tingle or numb feeling but more like a restless feeling. From my hand to my elbow. And from my leg to my foot (all on the left side of my body. I went to my doctor today and he just took a blood test to see my vitamin b12 level (waiting for the result next week) and he said that I should make an appointment with a neurologist. That's all. What could all this be? I'm getting desperate 🤔

Hello Dr. Thanks for sharing this valuable information. I also have the same problem every night. I woke up twice or thrice every night with the numbness and tingling in my fingers especially on last two fingers.
Dizziness initially caused by lying on sofa on my left side with neck cranked against sofa arm looking at my phone. Has progressed into: Sensitivity when touching back of head, back of ear bone, cranium depressions and neck and traps leading to diziness and disorientation. Pressure building up in hinge of jaw and temples. Very pronounced at night when lying and when about to fall into sleep a sudden shock into the heart triggering adrenaline response flight or fight that. This repeats throughout the night. Recent arm numbness and tingling, left arm when sleeping on right side and right arm when sleeping on left side. Can not sleep on back any longer as breathing becomes difficult and throat closes. Initially when dizziness happed huge emotional and anxiety response was also triggered. Feels nerve related possibly due to muscle or skeletal issue causing impingement or compression. Dizziness when looking down at phone or book then looking up. Please help

I'm getting this, but it's from working a physically demanding job. Been a couple of weeks now and the tingling/numbness kicks in when sitting still in a chair/sleeping.
I had a laminectomy in 1992 on 7 discs and after i was hit from behind 6 mths after the surgery, then 2 more times from behind again it wasn't ever my fault. I also have sever TMS where during the night i even felt my upper jaw unhook from the bottom then goes back in . my hands have had Carpal tunnel surgery on both hands and now the back of my hands are numb and tingling i have been suffering from tennis elbow on the right arm for 8 mths now . I do have neuropathy of the feet i have Sjogren's I'm so tired of never feeling okay even, My mother always called me a Doctors Dream...LOL, and that she should of named me Dolores which means Aches and pains in Spanish!

I presently live in the UK after separating from the military. I explained to them that I had a pain in my neck that I couldn’t place because it would hurt the most in a specific position that I would do without thinking. I would only have the pain , respond to the pain, then go on with my day. Oh my I’m so glad I found you. So I’ve been having tingling in my hands and feet depending most of the time if I’m bending over, and the hand tingles usually proceed facial tingling. I know I have a tmj issue, and have already had a mri of my head and neck, which came back fine. Nerve conduction study was fine ect. It’s almost like no one can figure it out.

I am 25 and have severe chronic neck pain. Diagnosed with some joint degeneration and mild disc bulges on some levels. Doctors can’t find any nerve issues but I believe when I lay, something gets blocked off…. My older sister hit my shoulder with a medal cane back in 2011 and it dislocated it.. The doctors back then only popped the bone back in ND told me that I'll be ok but it was a lie.... ever since then my shoulder was never the same anymore.. I've been seeing specialist for my shoulder and done a lot of test too.. they even recommend a surgery since the nerves are damage and muscle spasm nd much more now not to mentioned this numbness and tingling on my hands are killing me .... pain medicines not even helping at all either..so what now??? Hello Doc, Been having numbness in hands and weird like paralysis not often mostly numbness or tingling in my hands while I’m sleeping . In the day I feel tingling only when my hands are positioned where my arm is bent. Once I move positions the numbness or tingling goes away. I also noticed that bone on my inner part of the arm hurts to the touch on both arms. After googling it seems like golfers elbow but I don’t golf. Also, major neck stiffness. hello doctor i have been having this numbness and tingling since 2017 when i had my son. progrssively getting worst im a veteran in the long beach hospital they diagnose me with severe carpal tunnel but i dont think its the problem maybe part but there is definetely something wrong with my spine. i cant sleep im lucky if i get some sleep i cant go on my right side or left i wake up with this severe pain tingling numbness on my fingers. specially worst on side lying left side i wake up with severe numbness and tingling and sometimes it takes minutes before i get some circulation my neck is stiff and my scapula area hurts takes time for me to feel any circulation im also a diabetic well control i take metformin twice a day my sugar are 120-150

Wow. I do sleep on my stomach and I do have what I think is a pinched nerve at the top of my spine. I thought the tingling might be a sign of pre-diabetes or something. That being said, I went to a chiropractor and told them I might need an x-ray first, and they ignored the warning and immediately started pile driving me into all kinds of motions that just ended up with me in more permanent pain ever since. Now I don’t know what to do? What is the name of the specialist I need to see? ?

Been searching for awhile now for some better explanation to this. But u described my symptoms perfectly. My former primary care physician brushed it off as arthritis but this DOES NOT feel associated to arthritis at all!! Never had this problem before but for the past 2yrs it has gradually gotten worse. The tingling in my arms & hands gets so bad that it wakes me up. It is becoming impossible to sleep. Somethn is not circulating blood to my hands & arms when i sleep. I don't know ANY arthritis patient that suffers from this. Wake up with a stiff neck. I almost have to lay coffin flat for it not to happen. If my neck is slightly bent, my arms & hands will go numb. I play piano everyday and I have lived in my car for a few years. My job is not very strenuous physically. The last winter and this winter I noticed that I wake up with hands that are known. But the cold used to never bother me I am always well dressed grew up camping and still do all the time. Wool gloves on.
But I am a side sleeper lately in my car where I think when I had my house I was more of a back sleeper. It's odd though that it only comes during the cold season the numbness in my hands. I don't think it's an issue with the cold but maybe the cold is exacerbating the other underlying issue which could be a nerve pinched from side sleeping. I don't believe it's carpal tunnel from piano because I believe I would have numbness during the daytime it's only when I wake up.

Hello! I have been having tingling and numbess on both my hands and feet for about 6 months. It comes and goes. There are periods of time that I don't have any symptoms. And then it appears suddenly again for no reason. This time I have been having it since 3 weeks ago. I have numbess and sometimes pain on my toes on my left foot. Or I have it on my left hand. I wake up every single night or morning (for 3 weeks) with this problem. It happens usually when I wake up from a deep sleep. Once it happened last week during the day time. It wasn't really tingle or numb feeling but more like a restless feeling. From my hand to my elbow. And from my leg to my foot (all on the left side of my body. I went to my doctor today and he just took a blood test to see my vitamin b12 level (waiting for the result next week) and he said that I should make an appointment with a neurologist. That's all. What could all this be? I'm getting desperate 🤔

Dizziness initially caused by lying on sofa on my left side with neck cranked against sofa arm looking at my phone.
Has progressed into:
Sensitivity when touching back of head, back of ear bone, cranium depressions and neck and traps leading to diziness and disorientation.
Pressure building up in hinge of jaw and temples.
Very pronounced at night when lying and when about to fall into sleep a sudden shock into the heart triggering adrenaline response flight or fight that. This repeats throughout the night.
Recent arm numbness and tingling, left arm when sleeping on right side and right arm when sleeping on left side.
Can not sleep on back any longer as breathing becomes difficult and throat closes.
Initially when dizziness happed huge emotional and anxiety response was also triggered.
Feels nerve related possibly due to muscle or skeletal issue causing impingement or compression.
Dizziness when looking down at phone or book then looking up.
Please help

I had a laminectomy in 1992 on 7 discs and after i was hit from behind 6 mths after the surgery, then 2 more times from behind again it wasn't ever my fault. I also have sever TMS where during the night i even felt my upper jaw unhook from the bottom then goes back in . my hands have had Carpal tunnel surgery on both hands and now the back of my hands are numb and tingling i have been suffering from tennis elbow on the right arm for 8 mths now . I do have neuropathy of the feet i have Sjogren's I'm so tired of never feeling okay even, My mother always called me a Doctors Dream...LOL, and that she should of named me Dolores which means Aches and pains in Spanish!

I presently live in the UK after separating from the military. I explained to them that I had a pain in my neck that I couldn’t place because it would hurt the most in a specific position that I would do without thinking. I would only have the pain , respond to the pain, then go on with my day. Oh my I’m so glad I found you. So I’ve been having tingling in my hands and feet depending most of the time if I’m bending over, and the hand tingles usually proceed facial tingling. I know I have a tmj issue, and have already had a mri of my head and neck, which came back fine. Nerve conduction study was fine ect. It’s almost like no one can figure it out.

My older sister hit my shoulder with a medal cane back in 2011 and it dislocated it.. The doctors back then only popped the bone back in ND told me that I'll be ok but it was a lie.... ever since then my shoulder was never the same anymore.. I also noticed that bone on my inner part of the arm hurts to the touch on both arms. After googling it seems like golfers elbow but I don’t golf. Also, major neck stiffness. hello doctor i have been having this numbness and tingling since 2017 when i had my son. progrssively getting worst im a veteran in the long beach hospital they diagnose me with severe carpal tunnel but i dont think its the problem maybe part but there is definetely something wrong with my spine. i cant sleep im lucky if i get some sleep i cant go on my right side or left i wake up with this severe pain tingling numbness on my fingers. specially worst on side lying left side i wake up with severe numbness and tingling and sometimes it takes minutes before i get some circulation my neck is stiff and my scapula area hurts takes time for me to feel any circulation im also a diabetic well control i take metformin twice a day my sugar are 120-150

Wow. I do sleep on my stomach and I do have what I think is a pinched nerve at the top of my spine. I thought the tingling might be a sign of pre-diabetes or something. That being said, I went to a chiropractor and told them I might need an x-ray first, and they ignored the warning and immediately started pile driving me into all kinds of motions that just ended up with me in more permanent pain ever since. Now I don’t know what to do? What is the name of the specialist I need to see? ?
