- We are Cruiselandia! Thank you for joining us. In this video, we visit Rome before embarking on a 7 night Eastern Mediterranean Cruise aboard Royal Caribbean's Odyssey of the Seas. With only a day and a half in Rome, we mainly wander the streets, and off the beaten path. Along the way we take in a couple of the obvious tourist destinations. Our primary goal is to absorb the vibe of this wonderful historic city, and find the delicious food which it is famous for. I'm Chris, and together with my lovely wife Brandi, and 2 of our friends, we navigate this pre-cruise adventure.

Hi Chris and Brandi. I have watched hundreds of videos in preparation for our Mediterranean cruise in October on the Odyssey of the Seas, and I find yours the most relatable so far. I let my family and friends know that these videos are as close as you can get to me shooting video of our trip. Great information. John
Thank you John! That really means a lot to us. That is exactly what we like to hear. I hope you all have a wonderful Cruise.
Had such a blast!:)
Hi! I really enjoy your videos and the background music is great! What time of year was your cruise? Trying to get a feel for the heat - we are going end of August 2024
Thanks for the comment! We set sail on June 18th. I would imagine it should be quite a bit warmer by the end of August. Have a great trip!
Love your channel. Love how you are all so low key. I would like to ask how you knew how to get around to all the places you visited in Rome. Did you use google maps? I am doing a a Greek isles cruise on odyssey of the seas in September 2024. I wanted to stay centrally located in Rome to visit all that you visited. Thank you and I love your channel.
Thank you for the kind words. We used Google maps and a tour map that a friend of ours gave us. Otherwise, we just sort of winged it. I studied the map of a Rome constantly over the months prior to our trip, so I already had an idea of where we were most of the time. We also watched a lot of RUclips videos of Rome as well. I hope you have a wonderful trip!

It has been a while. Nice to see you guys back!
Thank you! It’s good to be back!
Hi I loved all your videos about this itinerary, we are doing the same cruise in a few months and this tips are great for us , my question is , do you have to purchase the Leonardo Express train tickets in advance (online) ? Or you guys purchased in there ? I will appreciate your response, thanks
We did not buy the tickets in advance, but I believe you can. Thank you for watching!
I’ve been enjoying your Odyssey series and trying to get some tips before our transatlantic on her next Spring. A couple of quick questions about your hotels in Rome and Dublin. Did you like them and would you recommend the locations of each? Thanks and looking forward to future vlogs!
We really enjoyed Hotel Navonna Colors in Rome and we would definitely stay there again. It was a great location and our room was an annex of the Hotel so it was really more like a small apartment than a hotel room.
The Airbnb, Casa Dharma was wonderful. It was a great location, super clean, and affordable. The Hosts went well beyond what was required, and really helped us solve a few logistical problems. I can’t recommend them enough. They really were amazing!
We have mixed feelings about the Arlington Hotel in Dublin. It was clean but could have used some updating, especially for the price. It was a bit on the spendy side. We were really paying for the location. It was just across the River from Temple Bar district, and that was super convenient. We were able to easily walk all around the area, without any problem. Dublin is overall a bit expensive, especially after staying in Rome and Civitavecchia. We would half heartedly recommend the Arlington Hotel.
I hope this helps, and we hope you have a great trip! Thank you for watching and commenting. It is greatly appreciated.

@@cruiselandia8710 Thankd for the information, it definitely helps! I was feeling pretty overwhelmed trying to figure out where to stay in Rome. We are still up in the air whether we will stop in Dublin or London. What’s your next cruise?
Our next cruise is in December on the Carnival Panorama, from Long Beach to The Mexican Riviera.
How fun!!! This is definitely on our bucket list…maybe embarking in Rome and disembarking in Barcelona. How were the prices for food in general? Looking forward to this series! Thank you for your vlogs!
And happy belated birthday to Brandi🎉🎉
I think starting in Rome and finishing in Barcelona sounds great! Food was not expensive as long as you stay away from the touristy type places. Even then, the prices were very reasonable. Thanks for watching! We have a lot of content coming.
@@NewMexico-FrankJen❤Thank You!!!😊
