This car is sick!!! you and your dad should definitely restore this together. Your dad seems to love this car. build it together and give it to him. either way keep up all the good work!!!!!
Dude Casey, you and your Dad are the coolest! A great team for sure!!! This classic is a sweet and legendary model. I hope that this ride gets all the love 😘. Love the Father & Son collaborations. Keep up the good work 👍. Great video 📸. Thanks.
@@mightymikethebear i think you are right cus i just ordered way more parts for it then i was planning lol. I just buy almost everyhting cheap, a lot of times its junk, sometimes you get lucky and its a lot nicer then you ever expected
You lucked out, that Cutlass is in surprising good shape for how old it is and how long it sat. Just get you a Black Friday Clearance sale on a 4 barrell and intake set! Summit and Jegs are suppose to have killer deals this weekend.
Cleaned it first just to spray oil all over it Lmao. @CaseysCustoms is one of the greatest channels does stupid shit laughs about how dumb he is sometimes, steals shit from his dad and his dad comes to steal his shit Lmao. builds bad ass shit whether it's a body swap, engine swaps that no one else does, movies car builds or just cool builds that's what he likes (Astro Van Lol Jk i liked it a lot) and EVERYTHING gets Bags. Also he's a Proud ASSHOLE whats not to Love!!!!
I like the story you just told about the oil spot on the ceiling . I used to go to an old car junk yard to talk to the old man that ran it turned out he was an old school race legend . Lots of great deals on my first hot rod and knowledge . Mistakes made are knowledge gained .
I can’t wait to see the build on this car. When I was a kid in the 80’s my neighbor had a 68 cutlass. It was factory stock in mint condition and it was AWESOME. He rarely took it out of the garage but when he did all of us kids broke our necks watching it go by. One of my all time favs.
I've been asking everyone if it is best to put epoxy primer over bare metal and then put the filler bc I have seen rust get under it otherwise and no one would ever answer me and your Dad just answered my question! Thank You, Dad!
Great start! I just finished a restore on a 68 442 on my channel. I will tell you.. I hope you find that hood hinge. It was a one year only hinge for a 68 cutlass. And they don't repop them. 😢
Casey you should look into Silicon Bronze welding wire for replacing some of these sheet metal panels on this project. Doesn’t warp the panels. Just make sure you use argon not mixed gas.
That trunk lid is the same as 68/9 pontiac Lemans if that helps. Had a 68 cutlass, was a sweet car till I got rear ended while stopped, he was foing 45mph the jerk.
I like the plans you have for this... a mild restoration with no bags sounds great!! The only must have for me (and I hope you agree) is A/C. I'd want cruise control too... but it's hard to do that on a naturally aspirated engine... not impossible though, I'm told. It would be cool if you could figure that out and show us... (hint, hint, hint) ... lol.
I just bought a 75 Pontiac Grand Am that sat in a backyard for 31 years for $300 bucks! Towed it home with a UHAUL trailer 🔥 I got Casey's Customs training videos to thank for this treasure hunt find! 🙌 🏆 💐
Getting pumped to see what y’all do too it Casey’s style in full effect and especially looking forward to see what kinda color pops paints it. It’s awesome seeing u two work together especially the ball busting Lmao 😂
I love these videos with you and your Dad. I think if you can afford it would be so awesome to let him help you fix up the car. Then when you get it all fixed up give the car to your father. Anyway I love watching your videos keep up the awesome work!
I've never had much luck getting a broken bolt/stud out welding on a nut. What works best for me is welding on a piece of 3/8" round bar to the the bolt at an angle and then using it as a handle. Give it a shot. Not much to lose. Lol. I have no idea why it works but it does. Cool project!
Hurst olds tribute anyone? Love this build. Rocket 350 is a great start.love the one year only side marker lights. Bucket seats are cool. Super sport wheel is a bonus.
That's a great deal on a 68... I have a 72 convert. i love the Olds cars they drive like your on a cloud, but for a few thousand dollars you can make a nice car of this.Good job!
That is one of the earliest cars I remember laying down miles in as a kid. My dad had one for a decade. First car I ever drove, even with a 2 barrel that olds 350 will blow the tires off.
so body language, general vibe, i sense you *really* wanna make this a giveaway car. as a proud BOP fan (Pontiac specifically) i support that decision and think you're doing a great thing, sir. selfless, wonderful idea you had.
I swapped bodywork time to buy one of these when I was 17! Lol I totaled it 3 weeks later! That is a rare find! You should build it for your pops! Would be an awesome surprise! Love your content bro!
DUDE CASEY, IT WOULD BE THE COOLEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT 🎁 EVER IF YOU FIX UP THIS RIDE TO GIVE IT TO YOUR DAD. He already loves it and it was a car that he really enjoyed when he was young. How his face lit up around the car shows how much he loves the car. A Father & Son project for the perfect gift. Just a thought 🤔 Casey. I love these Father & Son project collaborations. Keep up the good work 👍. Great video 📸. Thanks.
Next time you have a bolt snapped off, weld the nut on, then tap on it with a hammer, will help knock the threads loose, not saying it would work 100% of the time but it worked for me
I think your dad wants The Cutlass just the way he was all over it the morning working it in your pajamas, Anywho a frame up restoration would be great to see on this project I think your dad would be stoked to be a part of it just saying ...by the way is it a 455 or a 350 rocket.. I'm guessing 455 ... Watch your show all the time Love what you're doing keep it up
Good score! 👍 But the second time the busted thermostat bolt extraction failed, You failed... To Get a four barrel intake and carb, ha ha.... You know what to do!!! Old Oldsmobile is Cool, Casey! Good Score 👍🏁
Your Dad Defiantly likes that car already talking about putting paint on it. You should give it to him. he must have some good memories with his it would be a nice sentimental gift and working together to get it riding and looking good. You cant put a price on the bonding and time together doing something like that with you son or with your dad. act like you want his help fixing stuff like you're going to keep it and when its done hand him the keys. that would be priceless and make for good content
dad had a 68 cutlass supreme convertible, blue n white with white top when i was in high school. had a 350/auto. was a cool car but i prefer the hardtop. fix that thing up and keep it running. these old cars are hard to find these days.
Roof oil. You need ..... SUPER CLEAN.... oil cleaner it melts any oil including over hard grease Motor oil grease melts like crazy bro. It also cleans oven grease
Olds445's have a cast iron ridge/divider that runs between the china wall, and the front plate, right by the oil pressure port. a small block 403/350/260 will have no divider from one valve cover to the other in the area where the oil pressure port is. the engine displacement may be cast into the side of the block by the freeze plugs. .edit... the small block valve covers will (typically) only use 5 of the bosses on each cover, while the 455's have 10 bolts on each valve cover and all bosses are drilled and tapped......
