How Nintendo hasn't yet contracted Playtonic to remake the DKC Trilogy is an otherwordly mystery to me! In fact, they should extensively fund them in order to remake DK64, Diddy Kong Racing and realise the full potential of a Dinosaur Planet/Star Fox Adventures sequel which was once promised but never meant to be, on top of all the new titles these talented devs would create. While they're at it, Nintendo should make them a second party studio! Can you imagine the ripples caused in the industry if all the ex-Rareware devs responded to Playtonic's call and joined Nintendo again after so many years? It would be like reacquiring the company itself! Anything is possible.
DK64 would have to be rehauled as the worlds are too large and getting items with every character is so tedious. Probably a better idea to just make a new 3D DK, doubt it will happen as Nintendo has a strange aversion to making a 3D platformer that isn't about Mario. Diddy Kong Racing would be missing the now owned by Microsoft characters. And no thanks to them becoming a second party, what I love about Playtonic is that I can get modern real Rareware games on PC.
@@protocetid Them remaining independent and multiplatform focused would also be great, but with the industry being a harsh place and all, contracting them to make the remakes would also help to establish themselves even further, and in what better way than by remaking their own games! With all the modern tech, these reimagined classics would shine and become instant successes! Win win.
@@UPHENOS Would be cool to see Playtonic get big funding and advertising for an exclusive game or two but would be a let down if they became a Nintendo only studio. Nintendo doesn't even treat their second parties particularly well. Microsoft may have ruined Rareware, but let's not forget who handed them to the devil in the first place. AlphaDream could've been bought out but nope, they had some notable Square Enix talent too. Will the Mario and Luigi games still be made? Would a new group be able to replicate the wacky charm and style?

I'm glad Xbox One and PS4 owners can experience Tropical Freeze.
@@protocetid Exactly. Contract them out, but don't actually buy them outright. Best of both worlds!
Physical copy incoming on Switch - very hyped. If only I could find a cartridge copy of the first game 😭
Can't wait to play this game!
