Linc's pride is amazing. Take a last go at him and if he keeps refusing the car, offer him to give it to someone of his choice that will need and use it. A guy like him that worked his way up, has troubles to take hand-out. Let's respect that and adjust it to his liking. We all love what you do, so don't change and keep up the good work!
You heard the stories from his friends and they picked the perfect person deserving of this car. It's not often you meet someone so humbled and proud that they would say please give it to someone else who needs it more. The problem is now I want him to really have it after his short time on camera. Link please take the car as your daily and put away your SVX! I'd be willing to donate funds if he needs a place to garage his beautiful machine.
May have picked the perfect person deserving of the car but did they pick the perfect car for the person? He thinks an SVX suits himself, how does the family wagon Outback fit with that style? How many enthusiast would drive something they didn't think suited them? "Hey my mom chose my car for me". For an enthusiast, choosing a car is not choosing to wear the sweater your mom sent you.
@@DiscoFang I didn't want a 06 Dodge Charger RT but my Neon finally died and I needed a different car that was reliable to drive. Lil sister made a deal on the RT she's had since new with 90k on it. Couldn't pase it up for 3k so now I drive one and I love the power. He probably is too proud to take it and doesn't want it to get destroyed in his parking lot. I would tell him he can put sweat equity in and earn the car for himself providing he's good with the deal.

Selfless giving is a real thing, my dad used to say if you give and expect something back then you've only made a deposit. I think Link is a guy who gives because its the right thing to do, he was not expecting anything in return.

It's clear he's overwhelmed - I also might have thought Alex was trying to sell me the car before realizing it was a gift. Either way a 2nd car is a lot to think about, especially since he already has his baby. Every dollar that goes into keeping the Outback insured, registered and maintained is a dollar that he could put into his SVX or a living situation with a garage for his cars. There's also just something great about dailying your favorite car - at the end of the day what's more important, actually enjoying the things in life you work hard for while you're young and have your health, or preserving a car?

There's always a first time for everything. What a great guy. He's right that he doesn't need the car, since he has one already, but hopefully you two can figure something out.
This might be my favorite giveaway because you gave it to someone with so much Christmas spirit that he wanted to pay it forward to another enthusiast.
You have to understand that this is a man who has if ever not been given anything and doesn't know how to take. And allow someone to just give a man who bad luck is his only luck "on video" non the less is difficult.
I can appreciate that you want to give it away to someone who really needs it. Some of us are so busy, working 50-60-70-80 hours a week that we don’t have time to go to car clubs. Some of us have had so many hundreds of thousands of medical bills that we have had to sell our project vehicles we’ve worked so hard on just so that our family can eat next month. Maybe, there’s someone deserving like the one you gave the Lexus to.
You and Jason did a great job in a short period of time detailing that Subaru. I will definitely check out the products and pay the detail shop a visit next time I'm in Chicago. Would be cool to see you and Link and maybe some others from the local car putting the Outback back together and maybe donating it to another enthusiast of his choice.
I’ll take it!! My 93 needs some serious shit done, would be nice to have a car that has the shit gone through and wasn’t sitting in a field somewhere for 200 bucks, that’s been my daily for 6 months now🤷🏻♂️
I have exactly the same car and same color. 2005 Outback XT Limited 5EAT with 177,000 miles. I bought it used at 95,000 miles and had to replace the turbo. Other than wear and tear items, it has been pretty reliable although not as reliable as my Hondas and Toyotas. I had to replace 5 bent valves a year ago because timing belt broke at about 65,000 miles. I pulled the engine out and other than the 5 valves, everything else was fine. Hopefully I can get another 100k miles out of it. Good luck to the next owner. Merry Christmas, Happy and Healthy New Year to everyone.
I THINK HE WANTED TO SAY YES,BUT HE THOUGHT OF ALL THE EXPENSES THAT COME WITH OWNING 2VEHICLES.Keep up the great work ALEX and stay safe brother. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE.🎄🎄🎄⛄⛄⛄
Wow, that thing looks amazing. I might actually have to pick up a few of those products too, my Subaru has the tan leather, not black, so the kids got it all dirty, and the side of the driver's seat is blue from blue jeans. And of course the Saturn could use a little spruce up. And Link seems like quite the solid good guy. I don't blame him for being a bit shy on the camera with the big surprise. I'm sure he's worked for everything ever in his life, and he's seeing what looks like a brand new car when it's really "saved from the crusher" and still not fixed.
Well, I didn't see that coming. At first, I thought that he thought you were trying to pressure him into purchasing the vehicle. Kind of uncomfortable.
Alex, you are a class act. I think most youtubers would have put a negative spin on it to add some drama and load up on the comments and visits. I do hope he relents and accepts it, and I would like to see the two of you work together to sort out the remainder of the mechanical issues on the car. It seems an ideal car for him, and he an ideal owner for a car with reliability issues such as this one. I'm looking forward to seeing the conclusion of this story.
I've done some research and can make that car last ( hint : has to do with oil ) I'm a fan, & gypsy that lives in my RV in the southern Arizona desert in winter and tent camp in the summer. If I had a little more ground clearance I could get to some great spots. I was disabled by an , uninsured, drunk driver and live off a small insurance check each month, watching your show has inspired me more than once to repair my rides. No worries if ya don't but that outback sure would make me happy.
Alex, thank you for being humble and hard working with a huge heart. While your channel is great, please, please, take care of your family first. You obviously have been blessed with a passion and gifts but remember our passions can also be our downfalls if not kept in check. A very Merry Christmas to you, your family, viewers and associates.
Giving a car to someone in need or is simply deserving of being rewarded for their generosity is a super nice gesture. But a car is also an expense for the recipient between registration, any state/local taxes, insurance, and ongoing routine maintenance. Not to mention ongoing repairs on a car that's known to require some TLC. So I can understand why Linc may have had several reasons for not wanting to accept it. Either way, your generosity (along with the other companies and folks who donated parts and/or their time) is awesome and I'm sure you'll find someone who is a good fit for the car in the end.
Well you did mean well. Like I said the needy person would just put in gas and oil til it stopped. It would end up in the impound and then the boneyard. Cars can make the Needy, even poorer. This car Would give them a headache.👍
People who do not exhibit any sign of greed are just so awe inspiring. Realizing that everyone else feels that you deserve something is testament to your good acts. I am sure no matter the outcome it will be good.
Alex what a heart warming video during the holidays. I love Chicago and miss it. Yes it gets cold but the people are amazing. I got to live in Barrington and Aurora and dine with gregarious Palistani cab drivers downtown, and eat some amazing food!!! ❤️🎄❤️ Give Link a detail kit and give the vehicle to that family after all! Giving is better than receiving and Lincoln has that charitable heart too.
@@useless3596, I had a new '13 Outback that drank oil like a highschool freshman at a kegger. That thing burned through enough oil in the sump on a 180 mile highway drive to trigger the low oil light. Fool me once and all that. 😅
@@benzlover55, yep, a brand new lease. This would've been included in that class action suit/recall/extended warranty Subaru had to comply with. The dealer would monitor oil consumption and if you met criteria, you got a new short block. I called the purchasing dealer from out of town, and they said it was probably a faulty oil light and keep driving. I topped it off at a gas station, but my trust was gone. After awhile, I got oil-related range anxiety and the above option didn't exist yet, so I turned in the lease early and took a bit of a bath. In retrospect, I'd have done things differently.
Some people don’t like to be called “heroes”, or get gifts or receive charity. I think if Link knows somebody that could really use and appreciate it, he could help with that. It’s an odd reaction, but it’s clearly possible. Keep doing this Alex, it’s great content and it’s helping people. Plus, new cars are crap.
Thanks for trying to give it away. Second month on a brand new Subaru Ascent and my sister had to have a brand new transmission. I think Subaru's may be overly mechanically complicated like Volvo's are with their electrical systems. Too many things going on at once, some of them will break over time. Or a lot of them.
First of all, Merry Christmas Alex to you and your family! Second of all, your buddy from Chicago Auto Pros did a bang up job with that detail, that thing looks almost new again And as far as Linc, he seemed to have that look on his face like that line from the old Cosby/Noah routine: "Am I on Candid Camera?" 😅
I have to stop at 30:00 to say this - hey Linc - please accept this gift. Between watching you in the video and hearing everyone's opinions of you, you definitely deserve this. It's a nice gift, but one that comes with a little responsibility as well - but we're all sure you're up to taking decent care of this thing while also getting good use out of it. I'm sure you're going to watch this, and I hope you see this comment, but please accept the gift everyone around you feels you deserve. Yes, it's a whole car, but it's only a cheap used car - but one that keeps a very nice other car out of the midwest winter slop. For the rest of us enthusiasts out here that want to see it happen, please accept the gift. And to all involved and watching/reading, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
His body language reveals that he is absolutely not interested in the car. Even if you give him an additional $1000 cash to take it, he doesn't want it.
Way cool Alex. I’m sure he’ll take the car maybe, or you’ll find the right person. Been watching your channel growing since about 5K subs, and because your heart for car culture and people is unsurpassed, it’s been fun seeing the channel explode man. Merry Christmas and Happy 2022!
24 years with two different SVX's and neither has burned to the ground. Yet. Just my experience. Love where your heart is my friend, always enjoy your work.
Wow yeah super humble guy. I think he's just blown away... Try and get him working on it with you, maybe he will form an attachment.. If not, maybe ask him who he thinks should really get the car? Maybe he has a family member that needs it? That way he can always help them if something breaks?
Wow Jason really knows his stuff. I always pick up some good techniques and info regarding detailing when he helps out. He seems like a smashing bloke into the bargain.
You can truly see how humble and proud link is. By hearing the enthusiasm and respect his fellow Subaru enthusiasts have for him you can see he deserves such a wonderful gesture as this. With that said you can see link knows there are still people without that could use this great gift more than himself. I hope you and link come up with a plan and find the right and deserving person.
It truly was a nice gesture and a great car. It deserves to be with someone who needs and appreciates it. It’s my favorite Outback Generation. Lots of comments regarding Outbacks being “Lesbian Cars” and used to hear that about the 04 Fozzie XT that I drove. Never understood that, like it was supposed to be a bad thing. I love every Subie made, old and new and will never choose based on those labels. Subaru is very supportive of lifestyles, including the LGBT community.
I think it was his pride that kept him from taking it. He didn’t want to be seen as a charity case, which I can understand. You tried your best though. I would gladly take it since it would match my other beater, LOL. Only problem is that I wouldn’t be willing to travel from Virginia to get it. Merry Christmas Alex & family!
If Link doesn’t decide to take it, I will gladly take it, as I am a Subaru enthusiast that knows how to work on this model Outback, the reason I would gladly take it is to give it to my mom, as her previous car had engine failure. Right now she has to rely on me to take her to and from work, and run other errands. Please consider my mom. Thank you.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone!!!
Especially Subaru's...2 headaches instead of 1...he's had bad luck with them. Maybe he's thinking Honda or something not another pain in d ass
Anyone buying a car with a turbo, needs to follow the maintenance recommendations religiously or face the consequences.
That man is blessed. He has what he needs and doesn’t want more. That’s a respectable response imo.
Looks like he lives about a mile from your house. How convenient. Merry Christmas.
If you ever need to toss out another Subaru, shoot me a message. I'd never refuse to take it in and give it a good home, lol.
What's so special about them?
Home for Subaru: Junk yard. Lol. Jk
Wow. The lol is a big red flag
@@webfreakz boxer engines hard to fix lol
I've done some research and can make that car last ( hint : has to do with oil )
I'm a fan, & gypsy that lives in my RV in the southern Arizona desert in winter and tent camp in the summer.
He bought his wife an Escalade last year
@@BorisBidjanSaberi11 I don't think that's what he means
Some people don't like being the center of attention regardless if it's receiving a well deserved gift, it's all good he'll come around 💙
You and Linc are both good guys. It will all work out!
People who do not exhibit any sign of greed are just so awe inspiring. Realizing that everyone else feels that you deserve something is testament to your good acts. I am sure no matter the outcome it will be good.
Wow I’m impressed with Link. Solid character
Alex what a heart warming video during the holidays. I love Chicago and miss it. Yes it gets cold but the people are amazing. I got to live in Barrington and Aurora and dine with gregarious Palistani cab drivers downtown, and eat some amazing food!!!
❤️🎄❤️
Give Link a detail kit and give the vehicle to that family after all! Giving is better than receiving and Lincoln has that charitable heart too.
Subaru enthusiasts, by default, can all be defined as "in need." 🤣
lol y u no like subrrraru?
@@useless3596, I had a new '13 Outback that drank oil like a highschool freshman at a kegger. That thing burned through enough oil in the sump on a 180 mile highway drive to trigger the low oil light. Fool me once and all that. 😅
@@mphilleo it was NEW? Good grief...
Lol
Not complicated at all. Just poorly and cheaply engineered.
At least volvos wont rust in to the ground in a 5 to 10 years period of usage on salty roads 🤣🤣
Guess I lucked out. My 2013 Outback has never been in the shop, only thing I've had to replace is the battery.
I respect the guy for not excepting it. Who needs to take on a money pit like this and then have to pretend to be grateful.
Jason’s knows he’s stuff, and you are good man, keep up your great community work🇳🇿
Hope he takes it! Definitely, DEFINITELY deserves it.
Alex + Family will have a great day as good Karma is on the Way to your doorstep today! Merry Christmas Good Givers!
Seems like a humble person. Is Used to giving, not receiving. I understand the reaction that he had
First of all, Merry Christmas Alex to you and your family!
Second of all, your buddy from Chicago Auto Pros did a bang up job with that detail, that thing looks almost new again
And as far as Linc, he seemed to have that look on his face like that line from the old Cosby/Noah routine: "Am I on Candid Camera?" 😅
Great thing you do helping others.
His body language reveals that he is absolutely not interested in the car. Even if you give him an additional $1000 cash to take it, he doesn't want it.
Hey Alex, Merry Christmas to you & your family!! 🎄🤶⛄
Love this channel: Thanks Alex.
24 years with two different SVX's and neither has burned to the ground. Yet.
Just my experience.
Love where your heart is my friend, always enjoy your work.
Yayyy!! Merry Christmas LSC family!!
Wow yeah super humble guy. I think he's just blown away... Try and get him working on it with you, maybe he will form an attachment.. If not, maybe ask him who he thinks should really get the car? Maybe he has a family member that needs it? That way he can always help them if something breaks?
subaru says that 90% of their cars are still on the road.Probably parked and with for sale signs
Yeah I know thats one of their sayings, but I have a really hard time believing that.
Wow Jason really knows his stuff. I always pick up some good techniques and info regarding detailing when he helps out. He seems like a smashing bloke into the bargain.
Merry Christmas, Alex!
Wow..!! First time seeing a guy saying Not only No..but suggesting to give it to some one else who deserves it..!! Hight of humbleness..!!😇
That wasn’t pride, that’s someone who was about to go buy a Toyota or Honda. Lol 😂
Just kidding but you could tell he did not know what to think.
🤣
lol i was thinking the same...he's had bad luck with Subie's
You can truly see how humble and proud link is. By hearing the enthusiasm and respect his fellow Subaru enthusiasts have for him you can see he deserves such a wonderful gesture as this. With that said you can see link knows there are still people without that could use this great gift more than himself. I hope you and link come up with a plan and find the right and deserving person.
Merry Christmas to you and your family Alex!!
Merry Christmas Alex and family. That was odd but he seems genuine. Hopefully it can go to someone out there that loved these
Under an hour and under 600 views?! It is a Christmas miracle!
Or perhaps he really just doesn't want it 🤷.
Alex you have a heart of gold I know Lincoln and he is a great man! Merry Christmas to you and your family!🌲🐟
What an amazing detail. I would hire him Great job.
Thank you.
i puffed ur comment 😁
